OuterImpact, LLC Announces Acquisition of Advantage Tactical Sights

Thursday, June 24th, 2021

Garden City, ID (June 21, 2021) – OuterImpact, LLC., the creator of the Modular Red Dot Adapter (M.R.A.) is excited to announce the successful acquisition of Advantage Tactical Sights (ATS), the innovator of firearm sighting systems, such as the Dark Diamond and the Pyramid Sights. OuterImpact owner Roy Chester had this to say:

“We have had a relationship with Advantage Tactical Sights for many years, producing some of the sights components and assisting with other areas of the company, so bringing the two companies together was an easy choice. We look forward to offering new and existing customers these unique options as a firearm sighting system. I have had sets of Pyramid sights on all my everyday carry handguns for many years and am a big fan of this type of sight.”

ATS sights differentiate themselves from other sight systems by giving the shooter more target visibility and a more intuitive alignment platform. Including the Firefly Glow sights, this allows up to 35 different color combinations in the master kit, to best suit the users preferences. The sight system also allows users to adjust the front sight elevation for maximum accuracy.

ATS Pyramid Sights and Dark Diamonds are currently offered for models from these manufacturers:

• Beretta
• Canik
• CZ
• FN
• Glock
• H&K
• Kimber
• Smith & Wesson
• Sig Sauer
• Springfield Armory
• Taurus
• Walther

Camp Fare Gourmet Meals Are Back In Stock

Thursday, June 24th, 2021

Last year we wrote about Camp Fare meals and they flew off the shelf?, but it wasn’t just SSD readers who loved these gourmet meals in MRE-style retort pouches were a hit with a lot of people. So much so that they would out during the height of COVID last year and them had trouble replenishing their supply.

I recently spoke with founder and executive chef Andrew Sarda and he told me his entrees are restocked.

One of the favorites is the Chicken Tikka Masala with French Green Lentils. It is excellent. Below you can see it out of the pouch.

Other meals include Beef Burgendy with Field Vegetables, Wild Alaskan Salmon and Brown Rice and Red Quinoa with Pink Beans.

GBRS GROUP Assaulter Belt System in Black Coming 1 July

Thursday, June 24th, 2021

GBRS GROUP Assaulter Belt System will be available in Black, 1 JULY 2021 1300 EDT at GBRSGROUPGEAR.COM

For those of you who missed the details when the belts were first released in MultiCam, here’s a recap:

Made in the USA by LBT inc, the GBRS GROUP Assaulter Belt System takes a different approach than others on the market which use multiple layers of rigid materials sewn together with a lightweight and pliable webbing material to attach equipment to. This typically results in an uncomfortable and overly thick belt. The GBRS GROUP Assaulter Belt System utilizes a two-layer outer belt to create a lightweight, flexible yet rigid and stable platform to attach equipment, holsters and accessories. This is done by using Type 13, 1-23/32” webbing as the base, with a field of PALS webbing, laser cut from a semi rigid polymer (Tegris). To round it off, they double “W” stitch the webbing to a load rated, 1.75” Austrialpin Cobra buckle with a D-ring for attaching lanyards and other equipment. The outer belt has an inner facing of “loop” style Velcro, to attach to a low profile “hook” inner belt. They did this because hook should never be worn towards body, especially in such a high wear area (belt line).

The inner belt system is actually two parts. It consists of a low profile “hook” inner belt and a “shroud” to cover the inner belt when the outer Assault belt is not in use. This results in a system that not only doubles as a non-metallic EDC belt, but it is a comfortable and convenient way to cover the scratchy “hook” portion of the inner belt. When the outer belt is needed, simply remove the inner belt “shroud” and attach the outer Assaulter belt to the inner belt.

They are also restocking S/M MultiCam Assaulter Belt Systems the same day.

Elbit Systems of Australia Shortlisted for Army Land125 Phase 4 Integrated Soldier System Tender

Thursday, June 24th, 2021

Elbit Systems of Australia (ELSA) has been shortlisted for Land125 Phase 4 Integrated Soldier System (ISS).

The fourth phase of the Commonwealth program to modernise the ADF’s Soldier Combat System (SCS), is seeking an industry partner for the supply and support of an ISS capability that would enable continuous growth of the current and future SCS.

Elbit Systems of Australia Managing Director, Major General (ret’d) Paul McLachlan AO, CSC said the shortlisting demonstrated the company’s commitment to continue to work with defence on the provision of capability that would increase the effectiveness of Australian soldiers.

“I am very pleased to announce our progress to the limited RFT stage for Land 125 Phase 4 for the ISS, which is indicative of our continued commitment to produce world-leading soldier systems from global technology using an upskilled sovereign workforce here in Australia,” Mr McLachlan said.

“Recently, at the biggest trade show on the defence calendar, Land Forces 21, we showcased our next-generation technologies, which saw hundreds of visitors to our stand experience live on-the-spot demonstrations of our world-leading technology and innovative products.

“Those leading-edge technologies increase effectiveness via situational awareness, mobility, lethality, survivability and sustainability to ensure mission success for the Australian Defence Force, while protecting the lives of ADF personnel.”

ELSA has the ability to deliver the project using an agile design and development approach aimed at supporting incremental evolution of the Soldier Combat System for the duration of the tranche, which would include in-house research and development, Mr McLachlan said.

“Not only do we have ability to access, adapt and apply global technology right here in Australia, we opened our new Centre of Excellence in Melbourne earlier this year, which will conduct research and development with academic and industry partners to develop highly-advanced autonomous solutions to build home-grown capabilities to complement our existing suite of soldier solutions,” Mr McLachlan said.

“The research, which focuses on collaboration between people and autonomous systems, will produce applications that can not only be used across defence, but could also benefit homeland security and emergency services.

“ELSA has a 250-strong workforce across three locations in Australia that includes more than 100 software and systems engineers.”

ELSA is a leading capability provider and Prime Systems Integration in design, delivery and sustainment of command and control systems, that include ISS, robotic and autonomous platform technologies and capabilities.

Viridian Showcases Weapon-Mounted Camera at National Sheriffs’ Association Expo

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 22, 2021 – Viridian Weapon Technologies is showcasing the FACT Duty® Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC®) at the annual National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Conference and Exposition in Phoenix, Arizona from June 22-24, 2021. The conference will give law enforcement personnel an opportunity to see the capabilities of Viridian’s Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC). Attendees are encouraged to visit Viridian at booth #922 on the main aisle to learn more.

“This is our fourth year at the NSA conference and we’re proud to have the opportunity to showcase the growing track-record of our Weapon-Mounted Camera,” said Viridian President and CEO Brian Hedeen. “The WMC automatically captures footage from the end of an officer’s firearm from the moment it comes out of the holster, and this additional footage has proven to be an essential evidentiary tool for understanding use of force events.”

The Viridian WMC

The highly advanced FACT Duty WMC employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. This distinctive weapon-mounted camera provides a clear view of critical use-of-force events from the end of the firearm, addressing limitations officers can face with body cameras. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster. Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, but it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment. Body and dash cameras were not designed to capture officer-involved shootings. However, Viridian WMCs were designed specifically for this purpose.
