Jason Knight to Join the Winkler Knives Team
Wednesday, January 17th, 2018Earlier Today, Winkler Knives released this statement.

Daniel Winkler’s and Karen Shook’s hope is that Winkler Knives will continue producing high performance edged tools for people who really need them for many decades, if not centuries, to come. To this end, they asked Master Bladesmith Jason Knight to join the Winkler Knives team. The three have been friends since the early 1990’s, when Jason Knight was a teenager and Karen and Daniel were not. Knight’s creative genius and knife making expertise are perfect complements to Winker Knives’ manufacturing capabilities. His (comparative) youthfulness means continuation of the standards of excellence for which Winkler Knives is known. Karen refers to the working relationship between Daniel Winkler and Jason Knight as the “Merging of Masters.” Both Master Bladesmiths have a reputation for originality and blade integrity that has brought them international acclaim. The two have the skill, expertise and vision to translate the nuances of their hand forged blades to the Winkler Knives Collection.
Magpul Suppressor Cover – 5.5”
Wednesday, January 17th, 2018The Magpul® Suppressor Cover – 5.5” is the first product of its kind able to stand up to the extreme temperatures caused by extended strings of semi-automatic and automatic fire and still protect the user against burns by keeping internal can temperatures at safe levels and cool-off times short. The Magpul® Suppressor Cover – 5.5” is made up of a heat-resistant polymer sleeve overlaid onto a raised stainless steel heat shield that mounts directly to the suppressor body with steel clamps. It minimizes heat transfer to keep external cover temperatures up to 1000 degrees F cooler than the surface of the suppressor by allowing high volumes of cooling airflow across the can, reducing retained heat and the damage it can cause. Our Suppressor Cover withstands USSOCOM suppressor abuse requirements and numerous cycles of suppressor surface temperatures over 1300 degrees F with ease, all while allowing you to sling your rifle without burns or melted clothing. The Magpul Suppressor Cover is also an enhanced thermal insulator and signature reduction device, which significantly mitigates negative visible mirage effects to the shooter’s sight picture, reduces external suppressor body impact damage, and lessens the chance of accidental contact injury or other heat-related damage to personnel or equipment during weapon firing or cool down. Optimized for 1.5” outer diameter round suppressors with a body length of approximately 5.5” (not including attachment hardware/ interface) such as the Surefire SOCOM556-RC2. Other lengths are in the works and are coming soon.
FEATURES
• Extreme temperature protection that mitigates internal suppressor temperatures to safe levels
• Minimizes retained heat, allowing faster cooling than any other suppressor cover technology
• Reduces thermal signature of host firearm
• Mitigates mirage effects in sight picture
• Two stainless steel clamps provide a strong, rigid and reliable interface capable of sustained firing sessions and rough handling
• High temp polymer sleeve withstands brutal suppressor temperatures during extended periods of firing without deterioration

Revision Introduces New Shadowstrike – The Anti-Fog Ballistic Sunglasses
Wednesday, January 17th, 2018Essex Junction, Vermont (January 17, 2018) – Revision Military, the world leader in protective eyewear and integrated soldier solutions, introduces the company’s new ShadowStrike™ Tactical Ballistic Sunglasses. This new sunglasses line features Revision’s premium OcuMax™ Plus coating–for superior anti-fog and scratch resistance–along with a novel nosepiece mechanism to easily swap the lenses. Revision designed and developed the ShadowStrike Sunglasses to exceed U.S. Military ballistic protection standards. ShadowStrike Sunglasses are available for purchase now.
“Though Revision has grown considerably in recent years–now incorporating advanced helmet systems, power management solutions, and tactical communications headsets–protective eyewear remains a critical part of our business,” said Jonathan Blanshay, CEO, Revision Military. “The new ShadowStrike Ballistic Sunglasses represent our continued innovation on this front. While Revision was founded on protective eyewear for military use, our spectacles, goggles, and sunglasses are now used by tactical officers, law enforcement, and special operators all over the world. The many strides that Revision has made in protective eyewear are baked into the ShadowStrike line: these sunglasses are tailored to a wide range of mission profiles; feature our leading anti-fog and scratch-resistant coatings; are built for integration and comfort; and, most importantly, offer incomparable protection.”
ShadowStrike Sunglasses have a sharp, geometrical wraparound design that provides unobstructed field-of-vision and ballistic protection for fast-paced tactical, special ops, and military operations. Angular frames and a tighter curvature give this line a distinctive look while maximizing protection–fitting squarely, securely, and comfortably at all times, for any mission. With optical-grade, polycarbonate lenses, ShadowStrike Sunglasses provide the impact resistance Revision eyewear is known for, exceeding U.S. military eyewear ballistic requirements. From inception, ShadowStrike Sunglasses were designed and optimized to exceed the rigorous standards of the U.S. Army’s Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL) and will be submitted for inclusion for the 2019 APEL program.
The nosepiece mechanism, engineered specifically for this eyewear line, makes changing out the dual lenses quick and easy. This eyewear provides 100% UV-A-B-C ultraviolet protection and features Revision’s leading OcuMax Plus anti-fog and anti-scratch coating, preventing the close-fit sunglasses from fogging and ensuring clear, unimpeded vision during any outing.
The ShadowStrike Sunglasses will initially be offered in black frames with a variety of lens color options for various light conditions. A standard two lens kit (solar and clear lenses) will retail for an MSRP of $115.00 USD. Additional frame colors and lens options will be released later this year. For more information about this new eyewear line, or to place an order, contact Revision Customer Service at customercare@revisionmilitary.com.
