Expanded Portfolio Advances Protection and Performance Capabilities of Aircrew

Carbondale, PA, October 27, 2017. Designed for aircrew requiring double hearing protection, the wire-free earplugs improve reliability and user experience.

The new Gentex Wire-Free Communication Earplugs improve passive noise attenuation and eliminate snag, breakage, and hot spots associated with earplug wires, while simplifying helmet donning and doffing. The Gentex WCEP are shipped with ComplyTM Canal Tips and provide a NRR of 30 dB. The Gentex WCEP provides double layer hearing protection noise attenuation at a price that is a lower cost alternative to typical Active Noise Reduction (ANR) Headsets.

Gentex Aircrew Helmet Noise Reduction (AHNR) Technology, which is DoD and MoD qualified to reduce noise exposure for aircrew flying in louder aircraft and during longer missions; and the Gentex Low Profile Particulate Respirator, a low-profile, half-mask respirator that offers 99.97% filtration efficiency against a wide range of particulate contaminants encountered by doorgunners and other rear aircrew.

NAVAIR Approves Massif’s 2-Piece Flight Suit-Military

Based on a recent compelling need from the fleet, NAVAIR pulled out all of the stops to quickly approve the Sage Green version of Massif’s 2-Piece Flight Suit-Military, for use within the US Navy and Marine Corps.

Manufactured from Burlington’s Sigma 4-Star fabric*, Massif developed a patented (U.S. Patent 9,015,864) attachment system which unites the two components together, allowing them to protect just like a flight coverall, leaving no exposed areas at the waist. This two-part system combines elastic loops found inside the Jacket with Velcro belt loops on the Pant which are passed through the loops.

In addition to using a great fabric, Massif worked with the user community to incorporate features across multiple branches and multiple platforms. There are lots of little details. For starters, it’s a good looking uniform, offering an athletic cut. They’ve also moved seams away from high wear areas at the shoulders, seat and down the front of the legs; areas that can irritate during a long crew day, particularly in hot environments.

There are different Velcro configurations for different user groups. All of the pocket zippers feature pull tabs and the left upper arm pocket incorporates a pen slot.

Another common feature for both jacket and pant are the mesh-lined pockets for heat mitigation. This also speeds up drying.

Finally, the lower legs feature longer donning and doffing zippers than I’ve seen on other suits.

Bill serves as Lead Instructor for low-light and firearms courses at the SureFire Institute.

New Propper Female Brand Ambassador

St. Charles, MO – Propper International is proud to introduce competitive shooter Mandy Bachman as the new female Brand Ambassador. A decorated member of the Wilson Combat Shooting Team, Bachman competes in IDPA and other competitive shooting matches throughout the country and instructs defensive handgun classes.

A rising star in competitive shooting, Bachman started shooting in 2015 and quickly jumped through the ranks to reach Expert status in her first year. In 2017, just two years after beginning her shooting career, she became the 17th female to make Master Class in IDPA. This fall, she took 3rd place in the Women’s Division at IDPA Nationals.

“As a competitive shooter I want products that I trust and believe in,” Bachman said. “I have found exactly that in Propper. I am so excited for this opportunity and am proud to be a part of the Propper brand.”

In addition to her very full competition schedule, Bachman teaches defensive handgun classes with Wilson Combat founder Bill Wilson and works full-time for IDPA.
