Brownells – AR-15 20 Round Waffle Steel Magazine

There are a lot of options if you’re in the market for a retro AR-15 clone, like Brownells’ Retro line, but it’s almost impossible to source the original-style 20 round waffle stamped steel magazines. Brownells wanted to offer the whole experience, so they made their own.

Externally, these look like the original magazines thanks to magazine body & floorplate made exclusively for Brownells by Nodak Spud, but the internals (follower and spring) are from Brownells USGI 20rd aluminum magazines, making them much more reliable.

SIG SAUER Announces Over 72,400 SIG Rifles to be Deployed with Indian Army

NEWINGTON, N.H., (February 20, 2019) –SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce the Government of India, Ministry of Defense has officially contracted with SIG SAUER to build and deliver 72,400 SIG716 rifles for its frontline infantry soldiers. The Indian Army, the second largest standing army in the world with more than 1.2 million active troops, is currently undergoing a comprehensive firearms procurement process to advance the capabilities of the Indian Army’s infantrymen.

“This is the first large firearms procurement of the Indian Government in decades, and the explicit mission for this tender was to modernize the infantry troopers of the Indian Army with the best rifle available,” began Ron Cohen, President and CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “We competed in an open tender with small arms manufacturers from around the world. The SIG716 is an enhanced AR platform featuring a 16-inch barrel, M-LOK™ handguard, and a 6-position telescoping stock.

SHOT Show 19 – Brownells BRN-180

The BRN-180 is the latest product from Brownells’ Retro line. It’s an upper receiver group designed for use with AR-15-style lowers but use the piston operating system from the AR-180, including the reciprocating side charging handle.

Naturally, this means that it doesn’t require the AR’s action spring and buffer to function, making use of a folding stock a cinch.

It features an original 3-prong flash hider, M-LOK handguard and a barrel with 223 Wylde chamber and 1/8 twist.
