Fire Facilities Inc Now Offers Forcible Door Accessories to Enhance Training Experiences

Monday, August 2nd, 2021

SUN PRAIRIE, WI – Fire Facilities Inc. (FFI), has introduced new forcible door accessories for fire training towers. The dependable entry doors are offered to enhance training experiences for fire departments, public safety training facilities and military use.

Manufactured by Breaching Technologies Inc. (BTI), the field-proven breach products are now available from Fire Facilities to provide more realistic and flexible training options in their training towers for forcible entry exercises. Fire Facilities now offers the Explosive, Pry and Ram-Pry breaching door products.

“Forcible entry doors truly make training experiences more realistic,” says Aaron Adams, president of Fire Facilities Inc. “These doors are engineered and built to withstand the rigors of lifelike, real world training. The good news is the doors can be added to our existing training facilities or requested when placing a new order.”

Lifelike Training

The Explosive Breaching Door is offered to fit especially with tactical towers. The inward swinging door can simulate up to a four-lock set using the locking system built into the door along with the expendable preaching pins. The explosive breaching pins are designed to simulate resistance to a maximum 400-grain breaching charge. The door itself is skinned with high-density polyethylene to reduce the risk of fragmentation and corrosion from explosive exposure.

The Pry Breaching Door is mainly for the use fire training towers. It opens outward and can simulate up to a three-lock set using the built-in locking system and patented BTI breaching pins. The pins are made to simulate breaching wood, metal and reinforced frames. In addition to breaching pins, the pry door uses a low-cost wood insert to accept the use of a Halligan tool or similar type of prying tool.

Finally, the Ram-Pry Breaching Door works well for towers that require both tactical and fire training within the same structure. The versatile inward and outward opening door includes expendable breaching pins along with wood inserts. It offers realistic ram and pry breach training and uses a low-cost wood insert to accept the use of a Halligan tool or other similar prying tools.

This specific Ram-Pry Breaching Door was recently installed on a custom Fire Chief training model from Fire Facilities requested by the Nebraska Army National Guard for their training site in Hastings, Nebraska. It’s expected the Ram-Pry Door will be incorporated into the unit’s live-fire training, search and rescue, rappelling and helicopter rescue scenarios.

Fire Facilities Inc. (FFI) manufactures a full line of steel fire training structures engineered to withstand real-life firefighting conditions. From mobile units to burn rooms to high-rise towers, FFI training models are available in a multitude of configurations. Our parent company, Trachte Building Systems, is one of the largest and oldest manufacturers of steel self-storage systems in the industry.  For more information, visit www.firefacilities.com or call 800-929-3726.

AirBoss Defense Group Awarded First Commercial Sale of Bandolier Multi-Purpose Lightweight Clearing Charge System to the Netherlands DMO

Monday, April 20th, 2020

LANDOVER, MD (April 20, 2020) – AirBoss Defense Group (ADG) announced today that the Netherlands Defense Meteriel Organisation (DMO) has placed an initial order of 500 Bandolier Multipurpose Lightweight Explosive Clearing Charge Systems as part of a 5-year program to advance their demolitions capabilities. The contract also provides Bandolier training programs for DMO combat units. The Bandolier is a modern explosive charge designed to enhance soldier survivability and protection during combat operations, providing warfighters with a single, multifunctional device that can effectively clear any obstacle typically encountered on the battlefield in one lightweight, modular package.

The Netherlands is the first North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) country to purchase the Bandolier system. The contract vehicle provides the ability for all 30 NATO member countries to easily procure Bandolier systems and ADG expects additional NATO orders to follow. “The purchase of the Bandolier System marks a milestone event in the demolitions community,” explains Michael McCormack, ADG’s Chief Strategy Officer. “The adoption of this modern, lightweight, highly versatile system by a Tier 1 NATO military power is a major update from the decades old use of standard bulk explosives (C-4) and other purpose-built explosive solutions. This integration will give the Dutch warfighter a significant edge on the battlefield.”

The Bandolier’s patented design bridges the capability gap between larger, complicated breaching charges and standard bulk demolitions. Its unique modular design is light enough for dismounted operations, while remaining flexible enough to meet larger-scale mission requirements. NATO forces can now be supplied with a single, lightweight, easy to use explosive system, capable of performing a wide range of tasks, eliminating the need for multiple mission-specific systems.

Royal Marines Assault Engineers Conduct Sabotage And Denial Training In Norway

Thursday, February 27th, 2020

The Royal Marines are in the process of reshaping themselves as the “Future Commando Force” which looks an awful lot like becoming what they were in the 1970s and 80s, a light force of raiders from the sea.

45 Commando’s Assault Engineers conducted advanced demolition training in Norway at a facility which includes Norway’s state-of-the-art facilities that includes a train and 150ft ship. With an eye toward urban operations, they also conducted CQB training.

“We provide close combat engineering support to 45 Commando’s fighting companies and provide the ability to speedily conduct sabotage and denial of enemy assets (weapon systems, equipment, vehicles and vessels), infrastructure and routes,” said Colour Sergeant Ryan Selbie, of 45 Commando.

“Combat Assault Breachers operating within the Future Commando Force will be a key enabler to mission success.

“As the corps’ method of entry, demolition (sabotage and denial) and counter-explosive ordnance specialists, we bring a unique and invaluable skills set to the FCF small-team construct.

DSEI 2019: SAN Ltd Presents Its Unique Electro Hydraulic Tactical Breaching Kit

Thursday, September 5th, 2019

The easy-to-carry, lightweight and fast breakthrough kit has been designed for military and para-military special forces, and is currently being used in over 25 countries around the world

DSEI 2019, September 10-13, London, Israel Pavilion, South Hall, Stand no S5-220

3 September 2019. SAN Ltd. – Designs and manufactures heavy and light equipment for the defense and commercial markets around the world, will present its unique Tactical Breaching Kit in use by special forces, law enforcement units, and search & rescue teams, at DSEI 2019.

Weighing only 3-4 kg when in use by hand, the lightweight kit is powered by two batteries, each one able to power up to 25 breaching operations, totaling up to 50 breaches between charges. The use of a hydraulic method instead of explosives or mechanical tools, makes the system quiet and easy to operate, enabling forces to maintain the element of surprise in cases where the breach is required in order to locate and neutralize hostile forces. The kit is also safe for both the user and anything or anyone on the other side of the door, which is curial in hostage and rescue situations.

“As most of our team were breachers during their service, when we developed the Tactical Breaching Kit, our goal was to create the ideal breaching solution,” says Ran Nakash, CEO of SAN Ltd. “We invested considerable resources in developing a system that is based on our operational knowledge in the hydraulics field. This resulted in the best possible product for today’s operating forces and is currently being used throughout the world.”

The Tactical Breaching Kit can be equipped with a door breaker, spreader, long spreader, cutter, guillotine, cable cutter, jimmy bar, cylinder opener, wire cutter and a magnet.
