Social Hand Grenade is a clothing brand owned and managed by UK-based Intelligent Armor Limited. Their product line includes t-shirts, polo shirts, jumpers, and accessories for men, women, and children, most of it made from natural 100% cotton or bamboo. All designs and logos are screen printed within the UK.
If you’ve run into me at a trade show over the past few months, you’ve probably seen me wearing a Boss Rugby from Velocity Systems. I love this thing. Over the past 6 months, I’ve not only worn it to trade shows but also camping, hiking and to the range. It’s not only comfortable but also durable. The fabric has yet to pill or pull.
The Boss Rugby is made from a nylon/spandex blend to give it a little mechanical stretch as well as great wicking properties to increase comfort. The fabric also incorporates both soil release treatment as well as Odorexx™ Antimicrobial which is good for 25 washes.
This is a fantastic fabric but unfortunately, many see images of the material and think it’s the same stuff that those mesh penny vests you wore as a kid are made from. It’s not. Rather than actual mesh, it’s a pointelle knit which helps with breathability. As you can see, there aren’t any actual holes in the fabric.
The other misconception many have about the Boss Rugby is the two flat shoulder pockets. They feature a pile fabric that accepts Velcro hook. It isn’t some big, fuzzy, high profile patch at all. It’s a very low impact material and blends in well with the rest of the shirt.
I cannot recommend this shirt enough and I hope that these couple of photos have given you a better idea of what the Boss Rugby is all about.

Yesterday was a momentous occasion for Crye Precision with the release of the extended family of MultiCam patterns. Not to be overshadowed, however, are three new products that they also released.
Compact Assault Ghillie
The Compact Assault Ghillie is a lightweight, low-bulk concept in assaulter concealment. Laser-cut 3D shapes physically break up the most visible human outline – the head and shoulder. The rear dual-layer panel is removable, and folds forwards over to conceal a long gun or binoculars. The Ghillie is open cut and consists of featherweight materials designed to allow for massive airflow and overheating prevention. The stuff sack mounts to MOLLE or a belt and it’s amazing how small this thing compacts. Made in the US from US materials.

SkullCap
The SkullCap is a fitted, 3-panel cap, cut for maximum coverage and situational awareness. It’s designed to keep the wearer’s ears warm without blocking peripheral vision. The custom fabric used in the SkullCap’s construction allows MultiCam to be printed directly onto the fleece. A mid-weight polyester/spandex blend, this fabric also blocks wind and retains warmth while stretching comfortably to fit most heads.

Apparently LA Police Gear is the first to break the embargo until 11/25/13 on images of the new MultiCam Black pattern by posting an order page for the TruSpec Multicam Black Tactical Response Uniform Combat Shirt. Already a few images of sections of the pattern have shown up on Facebook but this is the first substantial leak. When I first saw the pattern over the summer, I was immediately struck at how much it reminded me of the ERDL cammies over dyed with Black RIT dye used by SWAT guys back in the 80s. As you can see, it darkens the pattern up but the base pattern’s browns and greens still show through although slightly muted.
