Developed by two Special Forces NCOs, the Antenna Keeper is sheer genius. VHF antennas are intended to be used when fully extended. Unfortunately, they get in the way and are telltale signs of the user’s location. Consequently, many tie their antennas down with rubber bands, Velcro or other means. Sure, this gets the antenna under wraps, but it’s difficult to get it into position when you’ve got to make comms. That’s where MODTAC’s Antenna Keeper comes in.
It’s an injection molded modification which is simply installed on the Antenna. Adjustments are one-handed and the Antenna Keeper causes the Antenna to roll rather than crease. Slide it up for longer distance shots and pull it back down into a stowed configuration when you need the Antenna out of the way.
Over the years, communicators have rigged up various ways to communicate via SATCOM while on the move. Fortunately, antennas have gotten smaller, to the point where they can be mounted directly to a vest. That’s where things get tricky. You need to point the antenna in at least the general direction of the bird and its shape offers some challenges on how to keep it in place. There are also times where it’s preferable to have the antenna folded. We’ve all seen guys use PVC stuffed into PALS webbing or ziptied in place but that is a bit too rigid.
RE Factor Tactical developed a flexible mast which can be woven into PALS webbing on a vest and will accept most manpackable SATCOM antennas. It is flexible, but will retain the shape you select.

The US Army’s TCAPS program has been awarded the Safe-in-Sound 2018 Innovation in Hearing Loss Prevention Award.
At the 2018 Annual Hearing Conservation Conference in Orlando, Florida, INVISIO’s customer, the US Army and their Tactical Communications and Protective System (TCAPS) initiative, was recognized for innovation and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss practices. INVISIO’s hearing protection and communication systems have been at the heart of their success.

The Safe-in-Sound award, was created in 2007 by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in partnership with the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) for Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention.
TCAPS, the Tactical Communication and Protective System, is one of the world’s largest military modernization programs for hearing protection and communication. Run by the US Army and PEO soldier, the program approved and implemented INVISIO’s product solutions in 2013 to reduce the risk of hearing loss and improve the wearer’s communication potential.

Vigilant Security Services has launched a website that is dedicated to SATCOM antennas. It is geared towards U.S. Military units and U.S. Government agencies and allows the users to easily submit SATCOM antenna RFQs directly from the site. There are a variety of land-based, vehicular and man-pack style antennas available in legacy UHF SATCOM as well as MUOS SATCOM. The antennas listed are manufactured by Trivec Avant and Leonardo.

INVISIO has signed a framework agreement with the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO), to supply communication systems to the Danish Army. The agreement is for five years with options for another two years.
Collaboration with DALO and the Danish Army on a larger scale, began in 2012 when INVISIO’s communications system was integrated with the army’s new tactical radio to increase the safety and operational effectiveness of soldiers, and to reduce the risk of hearing damage.
”The Danish Army is a very important customer for us and our cooperation goes back many years. DALO places high demands on effective solutions that are integrated with the soldier’s other equipment, contributing to our continuous innovation work. For us, the contract is a clear sign of the continued confidence that the Danish Ministry of Defense has in us and our solutions”, said Lars Højgård Hansen, CEO of INVISIO.
With INVISIO’s communication system the users get a market leading hearing protection and can communicate and maintain a state of the art situational awareness in tough environments.
