Clear-Com Brings Cutting-Edge Digital Intercom Technology to SOFIC 2016

Wednesday, May 11th, 2016

ALAMEDA, USA – MAY 02, 2016 — At this year’s Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), Clear-Com®, the global leader in real-time communication and connectivity solutions, will showcase the new DX410 wireless intercom system, the Gateway radio interoperability solution, and the LQ-R four/eight-port IP interface devices.
Reliable intercom and connectivity solutions are an essential component in meeting the needs for tight collaboration, coordination, communication and safety within military, aerospace, and government operations. Whether on wireless or wired systems, over 4-wire circuits or IP networks, Clear-Com’s extensive range of communications systems has the flexibility and scalability to meet complex configurations and is future-proofed to address unforeseen challenges.

The DX410 is a license-free, two-channel 2.4GHz digital wireless intercom. The full-duplex system can be deployed rapidly and is easy to operate; it enables mobile personnel to move freely and is rugged and reliable, making it idea for military, aerospace, and government applications. DX410 features 7 kHz wideband audio for the clearest communication, enhancing safety and situational awareness. Its 2.4GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) 64-bit encryption ensures secure, confidential communication. Also, the system’s upgraded radio technology allows better transmission/reception, two-wire/four-wire bridging, and two-wire auto-nulling. Each base station supports up to 15 BP410 wireless beltpacks and/or WH410 all-in-one wireless headsets.

Also on display is the Gateway radio interoperability solution, ideal for immediate on-site communication across different radio frequencies. It combines advanced radio interface technology for analog and digital radios with a suite of programmable features. Gateway does this by bridging radio channels across different radio platforms – be it port-to-port, port-to-multi-port or Radio-over-IP (RoIP) – which enables cross-communication between different frequencies.
Clear-Com’s LQ-R four or eight-port IP interface devices, which come in a 1RU form factor, are the latest additions to the LQ Series family. These devices can simply and cost-effectively extend or link any industry-standard 2-wire or 4-wire intercom and audio systems over LAN, WAN or IP networks. The new LQ-R devices can provide either four or eight ports per rack unit, while the compact LQ throw-down devices offer two ports of connectivity. All have the option of either eight 4-wire connections, four 2-wire connections, or four 2-wire and four 4-wire connections in a single unit. The 2-wire option is both Clear-Com and RTS TW compatible.

“Clear-Com’s range of high quality, full-duplex intercom and connectivity systems enable users to stay in constant communication,” said Scott Shepard, Sales Engineer for the Military, Aerospace, and Government division at Clear-Com. “Allowing voice exchanges to occur in real time effectively and efficiently across different communications systems and geographies, enhances safety and security in diverse environments. It also facilitates reliable voice communications between a number of people in order to achieve desired results and collaborate without limits, which fits right in with the focus of this year’s show.”

This year’s conference theme is “Evolving the Network to Counter Emerging Threats”. The event will be held on May 23-26, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa Bay, FL. Clear-Com will showcase its intercom solutions in Booth #219.

JSF-Based design supports the most extreme noise environments

Carbondale, PA, April 05, 2016. Gentex Corporation, a global leader in personal protection and situational awareness solutions for defense, emergency response and industrial personnel will introduce its Argonaut double hearing protection (DHP) communications headset to the European market at this year’s SAFE Europe Symposium. Based on the design of the ground crew headset Gentex developed for the U.S. F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, the Argonaut DHP headset is designed for use in other harsh military and industrial noise fields.

Argonaut-DHP

The Argonaut DHP communication headset is a product of Gentex’s recent acquisition, Aegisound, an established provider of products that significantly improve hearing protection, safety and communications in high-noise environments. In addition to the expansion of their aircrew product line, the acquisition also increased Gentex’s contribution to the JSF program. Gentex now provides protective hearing and communication products to JSF ground crew, in addition to the JSF aircrew helmet system platform and respiratory protection system, on which there will be a technical presentation during the symposium.

“The introduction of the Argonaut DHP communication headset to the European market demonstrates how the addition of Aegisound has strengthened our hearing and communications offering and allowed us to further expand in this category internationally,” said Robert McCay, vice president, Aircrew Systems, Gentex Corporation. “We’re excited to demonstrate the Argonaut headset at SAFE, and honored to have been chosen to provide our expertise during the symposium on the latest in aircrew helmet system technology, as demonstrated through our work on the JSF program.” Product experts from Gentex Corporation will lead the presentation “Protecting the F-35’s Most Valuable Asset,” scheduled on Wednesday, April 13th at 1:30 pm.

The Argonaut DHP headset is appropriate for noise fields up to 130 decibels and features a digital noise cancelling microphone, and high-performance earcups with integrated communication earplugs that yield a 32 noise reduction rating (NRR).

Post SHOT Show Wrapup – CORE Survival’s PIM for Hel-Star 6

    Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

    Program Interface Module For Field Re-Programming of the HEL-STAR 6 & F2

The PIM-701 is a handheld, wireless device that allows military users to re-program the four functions of selected HEL-STAR 6 and F2 models in the field. The PIM itself is programmed through a USB connection to a Windows-based computer or laptop using software that is included with and downloaded from the PIM. Setting new functions in the PIM is handled through an easy to learn, image-oriented graphical user interface.

The PIM functions wirelessly through an infrared (IR) interface with the HEL-STAR over distances of a few feet. The PIM can either re-program any or all of the four factory-installed functions (the NEW PGM button), or to return the HEL-STAR to its original factory settings (the DEFAULT button). The HEL-STAR device provides visible or visible and vibratory confirmation of both program mode readiness and acceptance of the new program or default instructions. The PIM re-programming system provides various protocols and automatic time-outs to prevent inadvertent re-programming and
    conserve battery capacity.
