INVISIO V30 DC System1

We had a chance to see the new INVISIO® V30 at AUSA. It is simple, all-in-one headset system utilizing the utilizes the INVISIO® X5 dual in-ear headset for high noise environments. It is plug and play requiring no calibrating.

V30 User Configs

The INVISIO® X5 headset features the patented and proven bone conduction microphone. Speech is captured in the ear via vibrations from the user’s jawbone. These vibrations are converted into sound, delivering crystal clear communication under extreme and noisy conditions, even when whispering or worn under a gas mask.

TEA Headsets has created this ebrochure for their new INVISIO V30 that includes technical specifications, diagrams, configurations, etc.

Ops-Core Unveils RAC at AUSA

Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013

I’ve been following the development of the Rail Attached Communications (RAC) headset for some time now and I’m glad to see it out there. Ops-Core has worked hard with their customers to offer something unlike any other head set on the market. First off, it was designed from the outset to work with the Ops-Core helmet and integrates seamlessly with other helmet system components such as the ARC Rail. The RAC headset works with FAST and Sentry helmet models.

20131021-231748.jpg

While the outward appearance hasn’t changed much throughout development, lots has been done to refine the ergonomics and improve performance. For example, the team went through multiple iterations to offer an ergonomic earcup with contoured cushions. With almost every headset out there, the part of the earcup that sits against the ear is flat. Unfortunately, the human head is far from flat and everyone’s is slightly different. Not only is the shape of the RAC earcup not flat, it’s also not the typical oblong found with other earcups but rather an asymmetric shape.

20131021-222652.jpg

They combines this ergonomic earcup with a gimbal mount so that it can fit as close to the head as possible in order to maximize protection.

20131021-222850.jpg

This gimbal and mount system has a stop that holds the earcup just off the ear.

20131021-223142.jpg

That ran articulation/latch also allows the RAC to be rotated back out of the way on the helmet (either one side or both) for storage.

20131021-233038.jpg

Here is an older photo of a developmental system that will show you how the stowage function works.

20130117-093425.jpg

The RAC also offers 3D hearing technology (3D HT) for natural hearing restoration and reproduction of ambient sounds with a high degree of directional accuracy. It’s done through their sound processing software. In fact, it’s unlike any other headset I’ve seen.

There’s something else here that is new to me. The RAC utilizes in-the-ear plugs. Now you might see this and go, “So what?”, but this is different. These optional inductance receiver ear plugs are wireless and use magnets to produce sound and increase hearing protection above conventional ANR levels.

20131021-233202.jpg

It turns itself off after 2 hours in order to conserve batteries but only after an audible warning tone. Auto shutdown can be averted by touching either one of the on/off/balance/volume control buttons. The RAC includes a noise canceling boom microphone but can also be connected to a pro-mask microphone if needed. Finally, the RAC is IP-68 submersible to 6m and available in a Black or Tan.

TEA introduces new INVISIO V30 Single/Dual Com In-Ear Comm System

Monday, October 21st, 2013

We were quite surprised to set yet a third new product announcement from TEA prior to today’s kickoff of the AUSA Annual Meeting.
October 18th, 2013 – Brewster, New York – TEA Headsets will introduce the new INVISIO V30 at AUSA in Washington on October 21-23. TEA will also showcase several world leading communication and hearing protection systems. Among these is the INVISIO X50 system where TEA headsets was recently given a $7.5M TCAPS award for a large number of systems as well as the increasing popular and simple to use INVISIO V60 system.

1

On today’s military battlefield efficient communication is essential for reducing risk for the soldier and ensuring mission success. Therefore, INVISIO has developed the advanced tactical communication systems INVISIO X50, INVISIO V60 and now INVISIO V30, which provides full radio functionality, crystal-clear communication and hearing protection for a variety of mission scenarios, for both mounted and dismounted soldiers.

TEA’s new INVISIO V30 tactical in-ear headset system is a very simple to use and intuitive system at a “budget friendly” price point. It builds from the successful and heavily fielded INVISIO V60 and is a true in-the-ear solution that offers dual communication and full certified hearing protection with situational awareness maintained.

All INVISIO systems come standard with the INVISIO X5 dual in-ear headset, which has the patented INVISIO Bone Conduction technology delivering crystal-clear, interference-free communication even under the most demanding and extreme conditions. The ability to communicate freely even under very high levels of noise is made possible as the technology in INVISIO’s headsets are based on a microphone inside the ear that picks up speech from vibrations in the jawbone and converts them into sound.

The features of INVISIO communication and hearing protection systems X50, V30 and V60 stem from INVISIO’s leading technical know-how and market knowledge from delivering many thousands of proven mission critical communication systems to demanding users worldwide. With INVISIO, users get a highly flexible, lightweight system and a compact form factor. The units are smaller and lighter compared to most competitive products on the market. The simplicity and low weight is a big advantage for today’s soldiers, who often face a significant burden, both cognitively and physically.

TEA Releases New Hi-Threat Tier 1 Headset

Thursday, October 17th, 2013

Just the other day, TEA told us about this new headset that they are releasing at next week’s AUSA. If you are going to be there stop by and check it out but rest assured we’ll take a look at it as well. In addition to the HTH’s high noise threat performance, it’s also available in MultiCam. Normally, you have to paint your headsets or send them out for dipping. I was really surprised when they told me about it, considering the direction the Army is going for camo.

1. HTH-Headband-MCHAT-REV1013For over a decade TEA has been providing fully integrated communication kits to SOF and Recon, through key programs such as MICH-Maritime. A critical part of these systems is the “High Noise” communication headset and it’s ability to perform in any environment, even after being fully submerged. TEA’s Hi-Threat® (HTH) Headset is a special version of MSA’s Supreme Pro Headset that was specifically designed to meet the demands and intensity of Tier 1 operators and special operations teams.

2. HTH Under LegacyThe new Hi-Threat® (HTH) Tier 1 headset is TEA’s next generation design. Sporting a totally new adjustable mounting system and ultra low profile headband, the HTH Tier 1 provides operators the ability to choose between wearing the headset under their helmets or mounting them directly to the helmet rails. This new low-profile headband is much more comfortable when worn under helmets than earlier headband models because it has a reduced horizontal signature which keeps it from interfering with helmets such as the ACH. What makes the HTH different from others is that it was designed to have a removable headband so you don’t have to sacrifice destroying your headband when converting to a helmet mount.

TEA will offer the HTH Tier 1 in multiple configurations such as Single or Dual Cable Down Leads as well as 3 meter or 1 meter submersible versions. You also have a choice of color such as Black and OD Green and due to high customer demand they will also offer the HTH Tier 1 in MultiCam!

HTH ControlsCombat Audio Features:
The HTH features Combat Noise Suppression technology that protects the operator’s hearing against damaging noises they’re exposed to during combat. In addition to providing certified hearing protection the HTH has adjustable and amplifiable electronic hearing that allows operators to maintain 360° battlefield awareness.

The Tier 1 version of the HTH also features a ballistic and submersible rated boom microphone that can provide compatibility on multiple communication platforms such as 2-way radios, vehicle/aircraft/watercraft ICS systems and even mobile phones.

HTH AMSNew Modular and Adjustable Mounting System:
TEA’s new Hi-Threat® Tier 1 Headset features a totally new adjustable mounting system and low profile headband assembly with support arms that can adjust up or down for proper fit and then locked into place with screw on tension caps. This new version of the HTH provides users the broadest market compatibility with new and legacy helmets. The new slim headband design allows for standalone use, comfortable wear underneath helmets or the headband can be easily removed and replaced with rail adapters for mounting directly to the rails on helmets.

5. HTH Removable Headband-REV1013Removable Headband Cover:
The HTH headband features a removable nylon cover that integrates the cable with the new headband frame. This cover has an inner cushion for added comfort against the head, which is also breathable to reduce hot spots. Since this cover has Velcro™ attachments, it can be easily removed to covert over to the helmet rail mounts (or vice versa). The headband cover is manufactured within the US and is in compliance with the Berry Amendment.

HTH Tier 1 with Team Wendy® Helmets:
The HTH also has full compatibility with Team Wendy’s EXFIL™ helmets (including the new LTP version). The HTH easily fits underneath this helmet without making any adjustments to the inner mounting system. TEA also offers a rail adapter kit that allows for mounting directly to Team Wendy® helmets. The rail adapters can be adjusted for a more exact fit and also for stowing of the headset behind the head.
6. HTH & Team Wendy

HTH Tier 1 with Ops-Core® Helmets:
The HTH has full compatibility with bump and ballistic versions of the Ops-Core® FAST™ helmet. The HTH easily fits underneath this helmet by making a simple adjustment to the inner two crown pads. TEA also offers a rail adapter kit that allows for mounting directly to the helmet. The rail adapters can be adjusted for a more exact fit and also for stowing of the headset behind the head.
7. HTH & Ops-Core

Complete your Comms with TEA’s U94 Tactical Push-to-Talk Line:
The new HTH Tier 1 is fully compatible with TEA’s U94 Tactical Push-to-Talk product line. TEA offers a variety of U94 PTT versions such as Single Radio, Dual Radio, Radio + ICS as well as special versions that include secondary auxiliary switches such as their HALO or Sniper Switches.
