Mission First Tactical Awarded Contract with Mexican National Guard

Tuesday, February 9th, 2021

MFT will supply the Mexican National Guard with its Rapid Strike Personal Protection Spray.

Horsham, Pa. (February 2021) – Mission First Tactical, LLC (MFT™), a leader in USA-made rifle/carbine accessories and holsters, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract with the Mexican National Guard to supply it with MFT’s Rapid Strike Personal Protection Spray. Manufactured with the same formula used by the U.S. Army and Airforce in a Department of Defense approved facility, it was proven to be the very best in a blind test conducted by the U.S. Military. The Mexican National Guard chose it because of its quality and delivery.

There are three delivery methods to provide the maximum effectiveness and stopping power: stream, gel, and fog. The stream delivery method is a focused pattern that has the longest distance, good wind resistance, and minimal cross-contamination. The gel delivery method is a focused pattern with long-distance and the least chance of cross-contamination. It is recommended for use where cross-contamination could be an issue. The fog delivery method creates a wide pattern with mid-distance and is the fastest disbursement. Wind can affect it; however, it is the easiest to aim. The fog delivery method will cross-contaminate indoors.

The Rapid Strike Personal Protection Spray allows the user to identify their attacker with an ultraviolet dye, visible only under black light. It has been tested with an Independent High Performance Liquid Chromatography to ensure consistent performance.

It is available in two stocked formulas, OC Pepper/UV DYE or CS TEAR GAS and OC PEPPER/UV DYE, and is available in black or pink. Any formula can be created for contracts. Mission First Tactical Rapid Strike Personal Protection Spray has a five-year shelf life. For more information on Mission First Tactical, visit www.missionfirsttactical.com

Jankel Achieves Final Design Review (FDR) Milestone with Pickup Variant of Their Armoured Toyota LC200

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021

Jankel, a world-leader in the design and manufacture of high-specification defence, security and NGO protection systems, has achieved an important Final Design Review (FDR) milestone with a twin-cab pickup variant of their Hot Formed Armoured Toyota LC200. The vehicle has been designed for an undisclosed customer. With the Toyota LC200 due to go out of production in 2021, Jankel are highlighting this conversion as an example of how they can adapt any vehicle to meet customer needs and fill specific capability gaps in the specialist protected vehicle market. With that in mind, the pickup design has the potential to become an after-market modification carried out on in-service LC200’s.

Partnering with Australian Expedition Vehicles (AEV), Jankel has integrated AEV’s existing and proven pickup design with the also proven and certified, Jankel armoured LC200 base platform. Bringing together the strengths of both designs into one offering has resulted in the armoured variant maintaining its protection level whilst gaining from an additional 650mm in wheelbase. This combined with a heavy duty rear axle upgrade delivers a significant increase in Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM-5800kg) and payload (up to 1500kg depending on specification), whilst retaining the existing protected crew-cab dimensions and space. The technique of lengthening the chassis and incorporating the modular and adaptable flatbed pickup pod is easily adapted to other commonly armoured light vehicles.

In addition to the increased payload and the usable flat 1900mm x 1700mm load bed space, the vehicle can be configured to deliver a number of automotive and user-orientated tactical capability enhancements such as: run-flats; improved brakes; tuned suspension; fire suppression system; door deadbolts; escape hatch; gun ports; weapons mounts; tactical lighting and a PA/siren. The lightweight flat-bed can be delivered with a canopy or a hard-top and includes folding/removable sides and integrated modular storage bins. Following FDR, Jankel will be undertaking validation tests to include elements of PAS 301 and expects the new vehicle to be in production by July 2021.

Andrew Jankel, Chairman at Jankel Group said: “We’ve developed this new pickup variant of our Hot Formed Armoured LC200 as a result of receiving an order from an existing customer. As a first of its kind I can immediately see other users of armoured fleets becoming interested in similar conversions that add capability and flexibility, not available on the LC200 base platform”. He added: “Once again, our strategy to partner with OEM’s and specialist defence suppliers to deliver bespoke capability has resulted in the exact product our customer needs, driving mission success”.

SIG SAUER Completes Final Delivery of Next Generation Squad Weapon System to U.S. Army

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021

NEWINGTON, N.H., (February 2, 2021) – SIG SAUER, Inc. is proud to announce the final delivery of the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) systems to the U.S. Army, consisting of the revolutionary 6.8×51 hybrid ammunition, the NGSW-AR lightweight belt-fed machine gun, the NGSW-R rifle, and suppressors.

“This historic moment is the culmination of an incredible collaboration between the U.S. Army and SIG. We commend Army leadership for having the vision to undertake this monumental procurement process and for remaining vigilant in their mission to bring a modern, transformational weapon system to the battlefield,” began Ron Cohen, President and CEO of SIG SAUER. “Throughout the program we have been given unprecedented access to the soldiers and Marines who will ultimately field these weapons. These soldier touchpoint events have led to rapid advancements over the current weapons systems and resulted in our delivery of the most innovative Next Generation Squad Weapons system to the U.S. Army.”

Each component of the SIG SAUER NGSW system offers significant advancements in battlefield weapons performance beginning with the SIG SAUER 6.8×51 Hybrid Ammunition – a lightweight cartridge designed to handle higher pressures resulting in increased velocity and terminal performance.

The SIG SAUER Lightweight Belt-Fed Machine Gun (NGSW-AR) doubles the effective range and is 40% lighter that the current M249 while maintaining the preferred belt-fed operation, with reduced felt recoil to increased accuracy.

The SIG SAUER Rifle (NGSW-R) is built on the foundation of the battle tested MCX platform with the added firepower of the 6.8×51 round; both the NGSW-AR and NGSW-R feature familiar AR-style ambidextrous ergonomics designed for a seamless transition from the legacy weapons to the SIG NGSW system.

The final component of the system is the SIG SAUER Next Generation Suppressors for reduced sound signature.

We are immensely proud that our entire NGSW submission has been designed, engineered, and manufactured as one integrated system by one single American company at our U.S. facilities,” continued Cohen. “Each component has been exhaustively tested with the others to ensure peak operational performance and endurance for the rigors of the battlefield.”

“As a leader in the firearms manufacturing industry we understand the challenge of bringing a system like this to reality. We designed our NGSW system to be production ready and with every component coming from SIG, it presents minimal fielding risk to the U.S. Army. The form, fit, and function of the firearms is familiar to our warfighters so the transition in the training and qualification of soldiers and Marines is faster and easier, and despite its revolutionary design, hybrid ammunition can be manufactured on a widespread basis immediately. We have a proven and successful track record of delivering multi-branch, service-wide, successful weapons programs to the U.S. Army, and we stand ready,” concluded Cohen.

The revolutionary designs and engineering advancements that were made throughout the development of the SIG NGSW system have ushered the launch of multiple commercially available products in the coming months. These products include SIG FURY hybrid ammunition which uses the NGSW cartridge design for various calibers, and recently gained the regulatory Small Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI) approval, the MCX-SPEAR semi-automatic rifle, and the SIG Next Generation Suppressors.
