One of our favorite small US businesses is at Blade Show. Exotac is based in Georgia and offers a variety of survival and fire starter items. Now, they’re importing the FREEKey, designed by Swedish (hence the name) firm Drosselmeyer Design Group.

Once you get one, you can’t live without it. The simple design opens right up to accept keys. No more broken fingernails. It comes in two models, the FREEKey and the FREEKey system with smaller rings to group keys.

An iPhone Case That Doubles as a Camera Rig

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

Literally, that’s what the New York Times called it, “An iPhone Case That Doubles as a Camera Rig.” It’s pretty cool.

See the little hole in the corner? You can thread a carabiner or dummy cord through it. What’s more, the DiffCase features not one, but two built-in tripod mounts (landscape and portrait). Additionally, the case provides bump protection for your Jesus phone and the lid can be used as a sunshade. Finally, the lid can also serve to prop up your phone for hands-free viewing and can accommodate one credit card per side.

SureFire Offering Rechargeable Batteries

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

SureFire is now offering K2 Energy rechargeable LFP 123A batteries. They can be purchased alone or along with a wall/car charger. The runtime of these rechargeables is about 50% of disposable batteries but they do retain approximately 50% of their original capacity even after 500 charging cycles so over the long haul they can show substantial savings.

Please note – Rechargeable LFP 123A batteries are only to be used to power LED illumination products (built to use 123A lithium batteries) and NOT those featuring incandescent lamps. The initial elevated voltage of these rechargeable batteries, immediately after charging, may cause the filament contained within an incandescent lamp to break or “burn out”.
