Adapter Breakaway Capability Improves Safety and Airborne Utility

CLEVELAND, OH (July 21, 2020) – Cleveland-based Team Wendy®, a leading provider of exceptional head protection systems, announced today the launch of its EXFIL® Adapter for the Ops-Core AMP™ Communication Headset. This headset, originally designed for Ops-Core’s ARC Rail, can now be also be mounted on Team Wendy helmets.

The adapter easily attaches each arm of the AMP headset to Team Wendy’s EXFIL Rail 2.0 or EXFIL Rail 3.0 accessory mounting systems. A press fit design – rather than a hard mount – ensures breakaway functionality when enough pressure is applied in an emergency situation.

“The breakaway capability is important for airborne operations,” said Mike Romanchek, director of sales and business development for Team Wendy. “The EXFIL Adapter reduces risk should lines get tangled around the headset by detaching from the helmet thus reducing the chances of equipment malfunction or injury.”

The EXFIL Adapter for the Ops-Core AMP Communication Headset retails for $21.99 and is available for purchase on TeamWendy.com and through authorized Team Wendy dealers.

4D Tactical Announces The HIVE Retrofit Helmet Pad Kit

Thursday, June 25th, 2020

Designed to make it easier to upfit your current helmet and make it more comfortable. The 4D Tactical pad kits were designed originally for the Air Force TACP community and today DoD, Federal, State/Local and allied foreign agencies are using these kits.

The HIVE Retrofit Helmet Kit is a rate and temperature sensitive material that conforms to the wearer’s unique head shape. The materials provide unparalleled comfort, fit, and stability. All pads are covered in a heat and moisture wicking NanoTech anti-microbial fabric. It is designed to draw perspiration away from the head and will actually cool the wearer through this evaporative process. The HIVE Kit is Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C 2533a) Compliant.

This is a review from a US Army SF unit:

New and Improved helmet pads
The pads were in my opinion the best product that we tested. They replaced the existing “pads” very easily and the installation itself was no issue. I used the pads during an airborne operation, and they performed without fault. My helmet was snug, yet comfortable. During mounted and dismounted operations my helmet felt comfortable, and with the use of night vision goggles, the decrease of stress on my forehead was noticeable. I believe that these pads should be used in the future and disseminated throughout the force.

Galvion Signs Contract With Marketing and Communications Agency, Chamois

Tuesday, June 9th, 2020

Galvion, an international designer, manufacturer and supplier of survivability and power management systems to the global defence and security sector, has signed a contract with the UK-based marketing and communications agency, Chamois Consulting Ltd. Under this contract Chamois will provide an integrated marketing and communications service with a particular focus on brand communications and PR to raise the profile and awareness of the newly launched Galvion.

Following the announcement in October 2019 of the sale of its protective eyewear business, along with the Revision Military brand name, the remaining Armor, Soldier Power and Electronics, Vehicle Platform Power and Advanced Concept divisions of the company are moving forward under the new corporate name GALVION. With seven company sites located across Canada, USA and UK, Galvion’s product portfolio includes leading-edge head, face and torso protective solutions, as well as power management systems supplied to military and tactical clients worldwide.

Galvion enjoys an impressive track record of large-scale global contracts for protective head systems as well as soldier power management systems, with customers including defence forces from the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, UAE, Israel, Australia, Indonesia, Botswana and others.

Of particular note to both Galvion and Chamois is the fact that the contract was put in place during the Covid-19 lockdown period, resulting in the parties on both sides not having met each other face to face prior to contract award. For both companies this has been a clear demonstration of how innovation, determination and adaptability can allow business to continue in these uncertain and challenging times.

Marnie Blanshay, Director of Marketing and Communications at Galvion said: “We are excited to start this new partnership with Chamois. A corporate re-brand is a monumental task no matter the circumstances, but the added constraints due to COVID-19 have pushed us to look for additional partners who can help us find creative ways to engage with our customers and markets. The inability to travel to meet customers in person or engage at trade shows are obstacles that so many are facing at the moment, but business must continue, and we are looking forward to working with Chamois to introduce Galvion and advance our sharpened business portfolio”.

Jamie Clarke, CEO at Chamois said: “I’m so pleased to have signed this contract with Galvion who, for us, are a model client. Following re-branding, companies often need help to establish awareness of the new brand despite there being a clear, credible and proven pedigree reaching back under the former brand. Our aim is to place Galvion firmly and visibly on the global map and we’re really looking forward to starting work”. He added “This contract is one of two new accounts we’ve brought on board during the lockdown period, working through restrictions that made it impossible to meet those involved in person. Life is not easy for any of us at the moment but we’re finding ways to overcome the constraints and continue to grow. I’d like to wish everyone the very best in these difficult times; stay safe”.

Oakley DRT5 Bike Helmet

Thursday, May 28th, 2020

I know some of you guys ride bikes. What some of you may not know is that Oakley got its start in the Motocross world, with eyepro coming later, after some really sick rubber handlebar grips back in the late 70s. By the 80s, these grips had found their way into the BMX world, along with the O-frame goggle.

For the past few years, Oakley has been manufacturing helmets for various sports, and their return to their biking roots is most welcome.

If you’re a bike rider, check out the DRT5. It was engineered, designed, and validated by mountain bikers, including a close collaboration with 3x World Champion Downhill racer Greg Minnaar.

Features:
-EYEWEAR DOCK: Integrated eyewear dock to securely stow your shades and keep them handy for quick and easy access.
-BOA® 360 FIT SYSTEM: With its soft textile feel and flexibility, the TX1 Lace lies flat against your head, allowing for seamless eyewear compatibility.
-X-STATIC® BROW PADDING: X-Static® harnesses the power of silver to create a powerful technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria on fabric, eliminating odor for the life of the product. Also ships with secondary set of pads.
-MIPS® INTEGRATION: The MIPS® Brain Protection System is a helmet integrated, low friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain during an impact.
-CPSC 1203, EN1078 and ANZ2063 Certifications

Offered in sizes Small, Medium and Large, in colors Blackout, Forged Iron and Black/Celeste.

Unity Tactical Platform Adapter

Friday, May 22nd, 2020

The innovative AMP™ Helmet Arms attach to the rear rails and cantilever the headset forward over the operator’s ears rather than the traditional top-down attachment. This frees up the top rails for other mission critical gear like lights and cameras. However, the factory OEM configuration will only interface with genuine Ops-Core® ARC™ rail; until now. Platform Adapter retrofit installation can be done in minutes and brings the same strength and performance to some other popular tactical helmets. There is no loss in functionality.

Now, you can run the industry-leading modular tactical communications headset, the Ops-Core® AMP™, on your already owned or issued Team Wendy®, MTEK®, or HHV® helmet. Platform Adapters are molded in the United States from the same reinforced polymer used by Ops-Core for their OEM part.

Weight: EXFIL: 4g, MLOK: 2g
Compatible with: EXFIL Rail (Team Wendy), MLOK Rail (MTEK, HHV)
Material: Reinforced Polymer
Breakaway: 8 ft lbs.
Country of Origin: U.S.A.
