Specter Gear has released their new line of Spartan Series Tactical Thigh Holsters. The holsters are constructed from four layers of heavy duty ballistic nylon with a two layer 1000D Cordura nylon outer shell. The holster is permanently attached to a vertically adjustable triple layer 2″ wide scuba webbing hanger strap.
The leg strap, which is removable and reversible, is made from 2″ webbing with a heavy duty side release buckle closure, and heavy duty elastic loops which allow for expansion of the thigh straps during movement, as well as two rows of imbedded rubber stitching on the inside to prevent shifting and movement of the holster.
The Spartan Series is available for most popular handgun models, including the 1911A1 series, Beretta M9/92/96, Glock 17/22/31, SIG P220/P226, XD-9/40/45, and S&W M&P9/40/45.

These are offered in a variety of models with the ALS open-top, ALS/SLS, or SLS-only retention features. Safariland will continue to release fits for the H&K P2000 and P30, and will be available in the coming weeks.

High Threat Concealment – Custom LF-P40 Holster

About two years ago at SHOT Show 2013 I received an unexpected gift from my friend, Dave Reeder. At the time, it was a bit of a unicorn, a Legion Firearms LF-P40. It’s a unique .40 cal 1911 variant built specifically for Legion Firearm by STI. It’s a beefy gun with a double stack magazine, and lots of angles. I’ve never had a holster for it, until now.
Today, I was invited to visit High Threat Concealment to check out their recently expanded shop, and they asked me to bring the pistol along. While I was there, they made a custom Kydex holster for the LF-P40. As you can see from the images, the holster is a perfect fit, right down to Legion’s signature honeycomb pattern on the slide.

Manufactured from .09 Black Boltoron, these are hand formed pouches. They are designed to fit both 1.5″/1.75″ belts thanks to the attachment system which may look familiar to those of you who use the PALS Universal Platform. This attachment consists of Dupont ST801 Nylon with a PULL THE DOT Snap to allow for simple adjustments. You don’t have to take your belt off to mount the pouch. Although, Bawidamann did mention that the PULL THE DOT Snaps are tough to break in.
