Precision Rifle Series Announces Daniel Defense’s New DELTA 5 Rifle, as the 2019 Official Bolt Gun

Thursday, February 14th, 2019

Yesterday, the Precision Rifle Series made this announcement. What’s very interesting is that the DELTA 5 is too expensive at a $2199 MSRP to be used as a production gun in PRS matches because that class is based on a price threshold of $2000. As you can imagine, there was some pushback from the peanut gallery, but the reality is that Precision Rifle shooting is growing by leaps and bounds and the introduction of DD’s DELTA 5 is going to bring even more shooters into the sport, regardless of whether they shoot in PRS sanctioned matches or others.

Daniel Defense expanded its product offering last month with the introduction of the DELTA 5 bolt-action rifle at the 2019 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed with the user in mind, the DELTA 5 combines the modularity found in the DD AR platform with the features and customization a highly experienced precision shooter would want, right out of the box.

“Consumers will find the DELTA 5 to be an extremely accurate and durable bolt-action rifle. It shares many of the premium qualities of our AR platforms including an interchangeable, cold hammer forged barrel and our 100% satisfaction guarantee” said Daniel Defense President/CEO Marty Daniel.

We are proud to welcome Daniel Defense as the 2019 Official Bolt Gun Rifle of the Precision Rifle Series, and we are excited about their commitment to the sport of precision rifle shooting! Daniel Defense is an exciting addition to the PRS family and has significant opportunities to make an impact at PRS events across the country. This year they plan to support and attend many PRS competitions, gain feedback from PRS shooters, and build awesome relationships with you all. They will also be sponsoring the 2019 PRS Finale!

Tactical Products Group Executives Found Guilty In Federal Court of Providing Faulty Armor, Swapping Tags

Tuesday, February 12th, 2019

Late last summer, Tactical Products Group, LLC (TPG) CEO Dan Thomas Lounsbury, Jr and Vice President for Sales and Federal Contracting Andres Lopez-Munoz were indicted by the US Government for conspiracy to defraud the government with respect to claims and wire fraud. Lounsbury is additionally charged with false, fictitious, or fraudulent claims.

Last week, they stood trial in the Eastern District of Virginia and were found guilty on charges of conspiracy, making false claims on the United States government, and wire fraud.

In 2012, TPG was selected as a sub-contractor to Triple Canopy on a contract to provide certain goods, including 10 sets of hard body armor plates, to the United States government.

The Government had requested a specific type of plate, and Lounsbury and Lopez-Munoz both knew that no substitutions were allowed. Furthermore, Lounsbury and Lopez-Munoz both knew that these plates were intended to protect government personnel in the field. Nevertheless, Lounsbury and Lopez-Munoz worked together to procure cheaper substitute plates, none of which were military-tested, and some of which were far outside of their warranty period. To get the United States government to accept and pay for these plates, Lounsbury and Lopez-Munoz had fake labels created and placed on the armor, falsely representing the plates to be the specific type that the government had ordered.

Lounsbury and Lopez-Munoz face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison when sentenced on May 10. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Crimson Trace Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary

Friday, February 8th, 2019

(Wilsonville, OR)— Crimson Trace®, America’s leading laser sight manufacturer, began business in the backroom of a machine shop in 1994. It was a typical rainy Oregon day when founder Lew Danielson filled out and submitted the paperwork to launch the world’s premier laser sight manufacturer. In the days that followed, customers sent their GLOCK® pistols in for machining, wiring and installation of an embedded laser diode. Those laser sights continue to be serviced today—a strong commitment to the many loyal customers. Great customer service has been a cornerstone of business for Crimson Trace across the decades and years, and in 2019 those years in business equals 25—a quarter century.

The 25 years in business for Crimson Trace have seen many milestones, such as the release of the Lasergrips® laser sights for the popular 1911 pistols, and the LiNQ® wireless remote activation technology for laser sights and lights for MSR rifles. Crimson Trace also began the Free Batteries for Life program and introduced firearms owners to the patented Instinctive Activation™ laser sight engagement system. Laserguard®, Rail Master® and other laser sights have added to the numerous product lines the company offers to customers, including law enforcement and military units. The company added green laser diodes to numerous laser sights beginning in 2012. Recently, Crimson Trace added tactical lights, red dot sights and riflescopes to the growing product categories.

The 25 years at Crimson Trace have resulted in numerous prestigious recognitions, including a 2017 NRA American Rifleman Golden Bullseye Award for LiNQ, being noted as America’s Top Brand by Southwick Associates, several Academy of Excellence awards, many shooting sports industry awards and many patents for innovation and product designs. The company also sponsors many events in the shooting industry and launched the Midnight 3-Gun shooting competition in 2012. That all-night competition in the sandy desert required the use of laser sights and lights to complete the numerous shooting challenges.

In honor of 25 years of service to America’s firearms owners, in 2019 Crimson Trace is giving away numerous special firearms equipped with laser sights or tactical lights. These will be awarded each month in a special 25/25/25 drawing. Details are at www.crimsontrace.com.

Crimson Trace works with many firearms manufacturers in product designs and special product packages. Those manufacturers include Browning®, Kimber®, Remington®, Smith & Wesson®, and others. Many firearms manufacturers and retailers across America offer various firearms with Crimson Trace laser sights pre-installed.

Crimson Trace continues to lead the laser sight accessory category by offering products through 2,500+ dealers across America. The company’s products can be easily installed without requiring modification of the firearm —or special gunsmith skills. Patriot Ordnance Factory Shows Their Stuff

Wednesday, February 6th, 2019

Patriot Ordnance Factory is as passionate about building guns as they are about the Second Amendment. In fact POF exists because founder Frank Desomma combined his love of firearms with his acumen in engineering. He was already working to defend our right to bear arms, but with the sunset of the Assault Weapon’s Ban almost 15 years ago, Frank knew what he had to do. Everything else is history.

True Velocity Forms Strategic Alliance With Dillon Aero

Friday, February 1st, 2019

LAS VEGAS, NV – Texas-based True Velocity announced today a strategic partnership with Dillon Aero to support the company’s current and future weapons systems with superior composite-cased ammunition.

Following a lengthy period of rigorous safety and functionality testing from ground and aerial platforms, the two companies have agreed to a strategic partnership aimed at providing the U.S. military’s rotary wing and ground units with a firepower solution that is far more effective and reliable than any other small-caliber solution available.

“We’re very proud of the work that went into forging this relationship with Dillon Aero,” said True Velocity President Chris Tedford. “This alliance represents a combination of Dillon’s unsurpassed rate of machine gun fire with True Velocity’s revolutionary case design, reduced cartridge weight and unmatched reliability. This is the alignment of two very innovative companies, based solely on the goal of better equipping our fighting forces.”

True Velocity’s composite-cased ammunition will support Dillon Aero’s M134D minigun, which is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. The M134D is capable of a rate of fire in excess of 3,000 rounds per minute. Since its establishment, Dillon Aero has fielded more than 6,000 M134D weapons systems in 30 countries.

The developmental partnership will also extend to Dillon Aero’s forthcoming M503D .50-caliber machine gun, which the company expects to field before the end of 2019. Designed for employment by air, land and sea, the new gun will have three barrels and shoot 1,500 rounds per minute. It will be lighter, faster and smarter than existing .50-caliber machine guns.

“Dillon Aero is excited about partnering with True Velocity,” said Dillon’s Nick Perfetto, vice president of business affairs. “Their advanced technology and weight reduction bring an advanced level of capability to today’s warfighter.  The combination of True Velocity’s ammunition and the Dillon M134D on the battlefield is a game changer!”
