EOTech Lawsuit

Missouri-based lawfirm Douglas, Haun & Heidemann PC has set up the website EOTechlawsuit.com in order reach out to potential civil litigants in the wake of the US Government’s suit against L-3 Communications’ EOTech division for fraud. As you may recall, L-3 immediately settled for a $25.6 Mil payoff to the US Government on the allegations that their Holographic Weapon Sights exhibited POI shift in both hot and cold temperature extremes. However, despite settling with the Federal Government, it still leaves L-3 open to civil lawsuits, and it looks like these guys are on it like hobo on a ham sandwich.

According to an article on Legal Newsline, Douglas, Haun & Heidemann PC is already representing a client in Springfield, Missouri who is suing L-3 Communications, “alleging violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, fraud, unjust enrichment, violations of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, strict products liability and breach of warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.”

But don’t forget. Right now, EOTech is offering refunds for their family of Holographic Weapon Sights. It’s up to the consumer to figure out the best way to go.

Polartec To Move Massachusetts Manufacturing To Tennessee

Friday, December 11th, 2015

According to a report in the Eagle Tribune, Lawerence Mass Mayor Daniel Rivera claims that Polartec, a leading supplier of US made fabrics for the US military, plans to move 200 manufacturing jobs to Tennessee over the next 18 months.

Last September, Polartec purchased Polartec United Knitting, L.P., located in Cleveland, Tennessee. Mayor Rivera says most of the jobs would move to this facility from Lawrence, long a bastion of the American Textile industry.  Reportedly, the Polartec headquarters will remain in Lawrence.

Fortunately, these jobs aren’t going away completely and Polartec will continue to mill fabric.  I’d just like to see some more use of Neoshell.

Team Safariland Rob Leatham Wins 2015 WSSSC and WSRC Title

Leatham defends his title at the back-to-back Western States Revolver Championship

Rob Leatham 2

ONTARIO, California – Safariland congratulates Team Safariland member Rob Leatham for winning the 2015 Western States Single Stack Championship (WSSSC) title in the Single Stack Championship and defending his 2014 Western States Relvolver Championship (WSRC) title in the Revolver Championship both held in Mesa, Arizona on November 12-15, 2015.

Leatham is beyond thrilled to have won the 2015 WSSSC title. This well-designed and perfect-weather match is one of Leatham’s favorite competitions of the year. “I look forward to the 50-yard standard exercise each year and really appreciate that the match Director, Steve Horsman, and stage designers have kept it well-organized and maintained its tradition.”

The tightly-contested WSSSC title has been won and lost over the years by a mere handful of points. This year, Leatham had just one miss penalty and one no-shoot penalty, landing him at the top of the leader board for the first time since 2007. “Top of the line equipment, from my belt, holster and mag pouches to a finely tuned pistol, has a tremendous amount to do with each and every one of my wins. It’s something that I never have to think twice about, and allows me to focus on my shooting,” stated Leatham.

At the back-to-back Western States Revolver Championship, Leatham, defended his 2014 WSRC title, winning by more than 120 points. Leatham won six of the 12 stages and finished among the top five in the remaining six stages in the match. Leatham has won the WSRC all three years, since its inception in 2013.

“Shooting a revolver match is a challenge and can be hard on the ego. Most of us at the WSRC usually compete in other (semi-auto) divisions. We are used to having more rounds, lighter triggers, much faster times and sub two-second reloads. I have a lot of respect for my fellow competitiors who have worked hard on their revolver skills and shown dramatic improvement. Cross training with this type of event should pay off by making you a better shooter all around,” said Leatham.

Single Stack Championship Equipment:

Safariland 5199 Range Series Holster with USPSA Kit attached to the ELS system.

Back-to-Back Western States Revolver Championship Equipment:

Safariland 5189 Holster with USPSA Kit attched to the ELS system

Team Safariland members are an integral part of the company’s product development process by regularly testing Safariland materials and products to ensure design and development. Free Beer and a chance to mess about with product prototypes and get a glimpse of what is coming next year. “We are so close to the Base that we hear the Retreat played every afternoon, said Schmults. “All you have to do is show up and bring some thirst – for beer and product – and we will take care of you”

The Wild Things has had a busy year. The Company received new investment from their Board in January and in October. “These new investments show confidence in the business plan and the Wild Things team”, said Schmults. “We are working on some innovative new product for the Military market in 2016 and have two cool growth initiatives underway in other markets, including a recently signed licensing deal for our consumer brand in Japan with Itochu. L3 Communications EOTech Issuing Refunds For Holographic Weapon Sights

Tuesday, December 8th, 2015

Last month, L-3 Communications was sued by the US Government in Federal Court for fraud regarding performance of their line of EOTech Holographic Weapon Sights. The same day, L-3 settled with the US Government for $25.6 Million. This suit comes on the heels of a USSOCOM Safety Of Use Message for the sights because of Point of Impact shifts in extreme temperatures as well as other performance issues.

Naturally, some consumers have decided to stop using their sights due to concerns raised in the SOUM and ensuing court case. Several EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight owners have contacted EOTEch and requested refunds. So far, EOTech has reportedly been very positive and honored all of the requests.

EOTech is reportedly refunding the purchase price plus $15 Shipping and Handling. If you are interested in returning your sight, we suggest you proceed to www.eotechinc.com/raform.

Once the request is approved, you should receive a message like the one below.

Since I have been asked, I own sights and will not be returning them.  Also, I’d like to thank Larry Vickers for alerting me to this.
