Haku – The New SSE Rope Bag from Arc’teryx

Monday, March 18th, 2013

20130317-185952.jpg

The guys from Arc’teryx LEAF showed me the new Haku Rope Bag at OR Winter Market. When John Faherty demonstrated it, the Haku certainly lived up to its name, the Hawaiian word for ‘invention.’ Sure, it made for ropes, but once you see the demonstration in this video, you’re going to come up with loads of other uses, including SSE. Just lay it out, the bright yellow color offering excellent contracts from the ground, and throw everything you find onto the bag’s tarp. Then grab the four corners of the tarp, gibe it a shake and everything slides right into the bag. Brilliant! What’s more, there is a simple strap for hasty carry or you can take an extra few seconds and compress the load.

How Much Will Fit in an Arc’teryx Covert Case C/O? MRE Shows Us

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

About 9 months ago, SSD showed you the first images of a new family of travel luggage from Arc’teryx. Now, they are available for sale and the folks at Mission Ready Equipment decided to do an experiment with the carry on compatible Covert Case (that’s what the C/O stands for). They wanted to see how much they could fit in the bag. Considering the bag measures only 20″ x 12″ x 9″, it’s a lot.

They were also kind enough to share a trick with us. They added SOB Combat Bands to the zipper pulls. Not so sure about traveling on a plane with the .45 in the outer pocket though. Guess it depends on who you are. But for standard car travel that might be just the ticket.

The Covert Case C/O is available in Carbon Copy or Utility Green from www.missionreadyequipment.com.

50% Off MAS Grey from LBT

Thursday, March 7th, 2013

20130307-125129.jpg

LBT is offering 50% OFF while supplies last on the remaining items of MAS Grey while they T&E new products to be released in the near future.

MAS (Maritime Assault Suit) Grey was introduced into the SOF community as a color variance that would provide optimum environment blending for our Sea, Air, Land Teams. Shades of grey have a history of minimal identifiability, working well within most environments, due to its lack of visibility/contrast across the color spectrum.
