I stopped by Tidewater Tactical today to meet with Navy SEAL Master Chief Ron “Reaper01” Bellan host of Reaper Outdoors – Survive the Hunt. We spoke about the premier of Season 2 coming 1April on the Pursuit Channel (check local listings).
Ron offered to show us a real gem. He is introducing a full Berry Compliant Tactical Hunting Vest (THV). Why a tactical hunting vest you might ask? Well then, you haven’t seen Ron in action. Make sure you watch Reaper Outdoors so you can get an idea of what we are talking about. The THV is based on a MOLLE-style chest rig design and offers nine purpose built pouches for hunting including Bow, Rifle and Shotgun specific items. Look for a full story soon.
Additionally, Reaper Outdoors is involved with the Special Operations Wounded Warrior Hunts which help our Nation’s wounded special operators recover through rehabilitative hunting and other outdoor activities. Look for details on their next hunt via live updates this week on www.facebook.com/teamreaper.

Just as soon as we ran our story about the upcoming LXVI Vans in MultiCam we started fielding emails on how to order the shoes.
They should debut in April and there will be three ways to secure yours. They will be available at the Vans website. Additionally, Crye Precision will offer them on their website as well. Finally, you can also check with your local Vans LXVI retailer.
This photo was taken during this week’s Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. It’s amazing how versatile the Team Wendy Exfil Bump Helmet’s T-Slots are. While some might question the use of a bump helmet as party wear, I beg to differ. I’d say this is a pretty good choice. Not only does it carry your drinks but it will also protect your noggin in the event of some street mayhem or you hit the falling down drunk stage.
Several times in the past, Vans has released short runs of MultiCam models but they’ve been bought up by shoe collectors as soon as they were offered.
In the Crye Precision booth at SHOT Show, they displayed several models of LXVI Vans in MultiCam or solid earth tones with MultiCam accents. According to Crye Precision’s MultiCam brand manager Ernesto Rodriguez, these will be available in greater numbers that previous offerings.
As you can see, the LXVI line is a bit different than the traditional Vans you are used to. The styling is a little more modern and they incorporate fused upper panels. They also incorporate a higher heel height and increased heel cushioning like running shoes. This puts more of your weight on the balls of your feet.
Vans is releasing MultiCam versions of the Graph, Secant, Numeral, Variable and Stat.
Idaho-based Grey Ghost Gear told us that they are launching a civilian pack line called G3. They will start out with three pack: Large 2218 cubic inches, Medium 1345 cubic inches and Small 375 cubic inches. These bags will be manufactured in the same factory that Karrimor uses so we are looking at great quality. In case you’re wondering, these will be made overseas, for the civilian market just like all of the other packs on the civilian side.
If you love Mystery Ranch’s line of tactical packs, you might want to check out their hunting line for your off-duty pursuits.
