Parabellum Prime hosted a Grayman & Company mannequin during OpEx which gave a good idea of the quality of their custom tailored suits for low viz ops and protective detail personnel.

Standard features include such necessities as cut resistant sleeves and hidden ID panels, Action back and quick draw front button.

OpEx 21 – Confections Carcajou

Monday, October 4th, 2021

Confections Carcajou is a Veteran-owned gear manufacturer in Quebec, Canada. They’ve been around for years and told me that last year was tough but that it allowed them to work on some new designs.

This wall of products are all new, adding laser cut laminates to their offerings. Another new item is their Operator belt with Fid-lok opening.

But that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped making the products that made them like this Boonie hat for snipers, set up to accept scrim for a ghillie suit.

OpEx 21 – Vertx

Monday, October 4th, 2021

Vertx’s sister brand is Flying Cross which not only provides dress uniforms for the US military but is also a very well respected blue goods brand, manufacturing Law Enforcement uniforms.

They’ve offered the Dutyguard HT Pullover for several years which is popular with LEOs who wear external armor vests as part of their uniform. It’s kind of a Combat Shirt but with fleece-lined pockets high up on the chest which can be accessed via the arm holes of the vest.

The Hybrid Technology Pullover features waterproof, breathable shell fabric throughout the shoulder and chest area that provides a safeguard from the elements, coupled with knit stretch performance fabric along the torso to shed light rain and a 1/4 front zipper for ventilation. It’s offered in Black, LAPD Navy and OD Green, sizes XSmall – 5XLarge.

Due to its popularity, they’ve introduced an insulated version called the HT+ for cold weather wear. Same sizing but only offered in Black and LAPD Navy.

OpEx 21 – True North Tradecraft

Monday, October 4th, 2021

I’ve followed True North Tradecraft for quite awhile on Instagram so it was a pleasure to finally meet Boris at Operator Expo.

True North Tradecraft teaches Personal Security Tradecraft from a Canadian Perspective and provides products to support that goal.

One of the items on their pretty sizable catalog is the OSS Lock Pick Set (Camp-X Canadian Custom Edition). For those of you unfamiliar, Camp X-ray was a training facility for the British Special Operations Executive and the SOE is who provided the American Office of Strategic Services with their initial training.

The kit consists of:

• Stainless & Spring Steel

• Tension Tool

• Razor Saw

• #3E Small Diamond

• #8 Short Hook

• #6E Euro Wave Jiggler

OpEx 21 – Point6

Monday, October 4th, 2021

Point6 makes my favorite Merino wool socks and they exhibited on the Parabellum Prime booth at OpEx.

In addition to socks they also manufacture Merino baselayers. Up until now they’ve only been available in Black but they recently did a run in Tan which is very close to Tan 499 (Coyote). They feature flat seams, tape hang slot and Raglan sleeves (for the top).

OpEx 21 – TYR Tactical Canada

TYR Tactical Canada was the primary driving force behind Operator Expo. They displayed their new Canadian content Level 3 stand alone armor plate, the TYR-HA-30102

This UHMWPE plate weighs 3.31 lbs (medium plate) and is competitively priced.

They also featured two mannequins outfitted with their various kit including shield and uniform.
