S.O.Tech Go Bag Mini

S.O.Tech Go Bag Mini

Designed for MARSOC medical personnel, the S.O.Tech Go Bag Mini is a unique hybrid mashing S.O.Tech’s popular Go Bag with a waist pack. This design allows for shoulder carriage as well as waist wear. When worn as a waist pack the bag can be easily moved from rear to front allowing access to med kits, breaching gear, and SERE kits even when wearing body armor. Additionally, the padded shoulder strap increases stability for heavy loads. When used as a go bag, the Go Bag Mini can store between seats as a tubular bag and the end pull handle gives a quick and easy grab and go. After bailing out of the vehicle, the padded shoulder strap allows for easy over-the-neck carry on the back. Double internal (against the body) zippers allow for access for bag entry while walking or running.

Internally, the main compartment has numerous elastic loops as well as a zippered mesh pocket. A large zipper and Velcro pocket on top of the pack allow for rapid access to field dressings or tools. One very distinct innovation is a hydration slot located on the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap also features PALS. The Go Bag Mini is available in Coyote Brown.

SLIVER Medic Pack from S.O. Tech

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

S.O.Tech SLIVER Slimline Medical Backpack

S.O.Tech has just introduced the SLIVER Slimline Medical Backpack to it’s line of tactical medical gear. Many of their medical products are already standard issue for USSOCOM medics. The super slimline design (3” when folded) is ideal for medics involved in vehicle or aircraft operations where room is limited. It is also well suited for urban operations where a medic must negotiate tight spaces. The pack zips closed and can be carried with convenient backpack straps, carry handles at the top of the panel, or is designed to integrate as an insert for the current issue Mission Medical Pack or Mission Pack System. Designed to be hung on a wall or laid on the ground when unzipped, the Pack is well organized. To help ensure organization, each of the pouches is identified via high visibility labels. The pack is really a system consisting of a stiffened panel with multiple removable pouches, a Davis Emergency Airway Roll, and the SOF-issue Medical Aid Pouch Insert to allow medics to customize their load. A zippered vinyl window on the outside holds packing lists and other documents. Currently available in Coyote Brown and made in the USA.

Mayflower is Up and Running (Update)

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

With over 24,000 hits yesterday, it was impossible to make final adjustments to the shopping cart system but you can now at least look at their wares. However, they won’t be able to take orders until Monday thanks to an IT contractor. Now I know why I used to pick on the AV club guys in High School.

Get Your Credit Cards Ready – Mayflower Launches Today (Update)

Friday, March 20th, 2009

It’s Live. We overwhelmed them when they were trying to test the shopping cart system yesterday with over 24,000 visitors.

I am surprised that Crye’s recent webstore relaunch two weeks ago didn’t jump start the economy, but that combined with Mayflower Research and Consulting, LLC’s Grand Opening should do something positive to those pesky consumer confidence numbers. Mayflower is known for straight forward, lightweight designs. What’s more, they are relatively inexpensive. The only problem has been availability; until now.

So, all of you have been looking at this for the past two months.

And this, plus a lot more, is what you will see once you get inside.

The initial launch will feature the basics. And while the site’s offerings are by no means limited to those few items in the photo, there are always new products in development, so check back often.

Lightweight Duty Belt from BFG

Monday, March 16th, 2009

The new Lightweight Duty Belt from BFG is designed specifically to complement their SOC-C Modular Belt. The core of the belt is a single piece of 2″ tubular Cordura webbing sewn between two layers of loop fastener. This gives the belt stiffness and the pile adheres directly to the hook fastener sewn inside the SOC-C Outer Belt. The belt’s closure is an ITW 2″ dual adjust side release buckle.

Garrett Container Awarded DF-LCS Contract

Friday, February 20th, 2009

The 37th Contracting Squadron at Lackland AFB TX has awarded Garrett Container Systems, Inc. an award for delivery of Defensor Fortis-Load Carrying Systems. This is a base period of 12 months with four one-year option periods worth up to $16,522,924.13 for the base period and four options. Interestingly, the award stipulates that the procurement is for Air Force Security Forces only so it appears that other organizations will not be able to leverage this contract vehicle.

GCS DF-LCS

DF-LCS is a MOLLE-compatible load carrying system designed specifically for Air Force Security Forces and first issued in 2004. Although it originally came in OD, under the new contract DF-LCS will be offered in the Air force Digital Tiger Stripe pattern. Each Security Forces member will be issued a Rifleman’s kit as well as a Multi-Mission Pack. Additional modules for Team Leader, M-203 Grenadier, M-240 Gunner, M-249 Gunner, and K9 Handler are also available and considered an integral part of the DF-LCS kit. Each SF member is also issued a Black rolling equipment bag to store thr kit.

DF-LCS is available online from Garrett for government clients as well as Air Force members. A version of DF-LCS is also available for commercial purchase from Diamondback Tactical.
