Blue Force Gear Updates Trauma Kit Now!

Tuesday, May 31st, 2016

The Blue Force Gear Trauma Kit NOW! (TKN) was first released in early 2009 as a solution to trauma kits that were too difficult to deploy, especially if only one hand is available. The TKN has gone through a number of changes over the years, with the most recent updates pertaining to weight and functional performance for the end user.

Starting with materials, the TKN is now constructed largely of a proprietary laminate called ULTRACOMP®. This high-tech laminate is made up of multiple layers of high abrasion Nylon and CORDURA® fabric bound together with space age elastomers and other compounds to form a nearly indestructible fabric that is still extremely lightweight in this configuration.

The flap face of the TKN now has a “Red Cross” cut-out with red backing so that the user can quickly choose whether they want a red reflective IR, or subdued backing to their trauma kit identifier. The flap also now has the BLIP™ detail in its pull tab. The Ball Loaded Index Point, or BLIP for short, is a feature now found on all Blue Force Gear lidded pouches. The BLIP was born on a freezing cold day at the range with rain coming in sideways at 32.5° Fahrenheit. It was there that Blue Force Gear realized that when fingers start to turn to flippers it’s very difficult to get a grasp on a flat piece of webbing as well as differentiate between different kinds of material to find a pull tab. The BLIP alleviates both those issues with a form that is both easy to grasp and impossible to miss.

The Trauma Kit NOW! is now available with an Advanced Individual Trauma Kit Refill built for Blue Force Gear by North American Rescue™. This refill contains the most advanced individual first aid items currently available and is focused around treating the “Big Three” of preventable combat death: extremity hemorrhage, airway obstruction and tension pneumothorax.

These products are currently in stock in all colors for individual or even larger unit-sized orders for immediate shipment.

Financing Now Available From TNVC

Sunday, May 29th, 2016

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

TNVC is excited to announce our partnership with the First National Bank of North Arkansas to finally make the highest grade night vision and thermal gear more attainable than ever to U.S. citizens! Introducing: The TNVC Night Vision Financing Program. Your dream of owning the best night vision and thermal optics is about to become a reality.

TNVC caters to the professional market, only offering high end night vision gear that we would bet our own lives on, from the industry’s top manufacturers. And, while the majority of this equipment is available to civilians, it has always come at a price that has forced many prospective buyers to settle for foreign-made or lesser-quality systems. But not anymore. We have had many requests for layaway programs over the years. Customers on a budget did not want to settle for cheaper equipment, but could not always justify the total cost all at once. Our quick and easy financing program will put the same high-end night vision and thermal products used to defend our nation within reach. Low monthly payments and a low, fixed interest rate mean you will be enjoying your new high end gear right away!

Here’s how it works: All night vision and thermal gear available from TNVC is eligible for financing and all U.S. Citizens are pre-approved. Obviously, all ITAR laws and regulations apply. Simply choose the “Finance” option at checkout on the TNVC site and you will be directed to a secure page on the First National Bank of North Arkansas website to fill out your application. The credit review is done within 2 business days. Customers meeting the bank’s minimum credit requirements will be approved for immediate product delivery and monthly payments will proceed according to the loan term. Customers not meeting the minimum credit requirement will have their product placed on layaway until the loan is paid.

Night vision is an investment. You do not need to settle for low end gear. By popular demand, the new TNVC Finance Program will truly make darkness your ally.

2016 SOFIC Supports Special Operations Forces

Saturday, May 28th, 2016

TAMPA, FL – The 2016 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) hosted well over 10,000 attendees and featured 400 exhibiting companies. Located at the Tampa Convention Center from May 23–26, the conference provided a forum for military, government, academia and industry stakeholders to network, collaborate and discuss current and future initiatives for supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF).

USSOCOM Commander, GEN Raymond Thomas III, and USSOCOM Acquisition Executive, Mr. James F. Geurts, provided perspectives on SOF requirements, trends, and future needs and how industry partners can contribute solutions and new capabilities. The conference included panels of USSOCOM’s Component Commanders, Theater Special Operations Command Commanders, and senior military leaders who provided overviews of acquisition requirements, operations, and technology needs in the context of SOF’s global missions.

“The industrial base is an indispensable SOF partner that continues to innovate and develop new technologies that will give our forces the advantage to decisively win,” said GEN Thomas. “This week was an opportunity to gather all the components of the special operations force enterprise to share collective ideas and explore our future together.”

“SOF requirements have grown substantially, as has the demand for the best equipment and technological advances. This week gives our operators, acquisition specialists, logisticians, industry and partner nations the opportunity to come together in one place, at one time to discuss issues, review challenges, and examine new opportunities and solutions so we can rapidly field technology, provide better protection and better capability for our forces operating around the globe,” said Geurts.

SOFIC also provided updates on the Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (TALOS), and included a USSOCOM Marketplace, where Command experts provided overviews of the specific areas where they could use assistance.

“This week was a great opportunity for innovators, industry stakeholders and SOCOM to meet in-person and exchange ideas to assist in fulfilling the evolving needs of the warfighter,” said NDIA Executive Vice President Gen. Barry Bates, USA (Ret.). “SOFIC attendees will walk away with constructive information about how to work with SOCOM and a better understanding of what they need to get the job done. It was a very productive week that provided value to all in attendance.”

In addition to keynotes, panel presentations, roundtable discussions and program-specific breakouts, the SOFIC Exhibit Hall was filled to capacity and featured new technologies, training systems, vehicles, aircraft and individual equipment, all designed to support the SOF community.

    13254201_1043025322399276_5639103119857819628_n

    BELLEVUE, WA – TA Group, a Bellevue, WA-based investment firm, salutes the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 and Military Appreciation Month through its partnership with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team added TA Group’s veteran-powered brand, Combat Flip Flips, to the No. 5 Arrow Electronics car, driven by fan favorite, James Hinchcliffe. Hinchcliffe secured the pole position for the historic race in an emotional qualification that underscored his comeback from a life-threatening crash one year ago on the same track.

    “We can identify with Hinch’s indomitable spirit and determination to overcome obstacles,” said former Army Ranger and Combat Flip Flops’ CEO/Co-founder, Matthew ‘Griff’ Griffin. “Making cool stuff in dangerous places is a lot like driving a race car…you need to go full throttle while anticipating every potential road block, and understanding when to have patience in the short-term to hit your long-range goals.”

    Combat Flip Flops manufactures fashion and travel accessories including:

  • flip flops made in Bogota, Colombia, known for its high-end leathers and shoe construction (among other things);
  • sarongs, shemaghs and cashmere scarfs sewn and embroidered at a woman-owned factory in Kabul, Afghanistan where the purchase of one puts a woman in secondary school for up to a month;
  • hand-sewn and embroidered belts made by Afghan widows through a program that teaches sewing, fundamental literacy, math, and hygiene;
  • jewelry crafted from unexploded ordinance (UXO) dropped on Laos during the Vietnam War where each purchase clears 3 square meters of UXO; and
  • messenger bags and neckties sewn in Washington which helps keep Americans and veterans at work.
  • TA Group Chairman John Sercu commented, “Our sponsorship of the Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Indy Car is based on mutual values of speed, innovation, technology, and a strong belief that giving back makes us better. The Indy 500 is a great time for us to say thanks to our country’s veterans and showcase the good we can do together.”
