S.O.Tech Go Bag Extended, MultiCam Black

Tuesday, December 21st, 2021

Over 16 years of the iconic S.O.Tech Go Bag line. The SGB-X (S.O.Tech Go Bag, Extended) for the first time now offered in MultiCam® Black.

The S.O.Tech Go Bag series came from a friend in one of JSOC’s Tier units. They were operating in Afghanistan and Iraq crammed in Hi Luxes and Little Birds. They needed a survival kit bag that could slide in and stack in those compact spaces and extract when the troop came into contact.

The original tubular bag with single sling shoulder strap had three small zippered pockets for batteries, food, NODS, and other items.

When the same troops needed to transport their weapons quietly, we extended the length to accommodate the M4 broken down and extended the side pouches to take mags. Breaking the carbine down and stacking its components presented a a tubular shape that confused any surveillance team looking for weapons bags.

The design was quickly adapted by teams across the Interagency. And the third iteration was the S.O.Tech Go Pack where we created a double shoulder strap version for those guys carrying such a heavy load that the sling shoulder strap just wasn’t enough. However, we configured it in a unique arrangement so the double shoulder strap could connect for form a single sling strap for lighted load. All of these designs allowed for the quick donning motion of throwing it over the head and shoulder, and the easy access by spinning it around.

Elbit Systems UK Provides Rapid Delivery Of First Tranche Of XACT Night Vision Goggles To The British Army

Tuesday, December 21st, 2021

London, 17 December 2021 – Elbit Systems UK has delivered the first tranche of its XACT Night Vision Goggles to the British Army as part of a contract awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to the company in June of this year.

Following First Article Inspections conducted by MOD Defence Equipment and Security (DE&S), this initial consignment of XACT systems was manufactured at Elbit Systems UK’s subsidiary Instro Precision Ltd’s (Instro) facility in Kent. The systems have been delivered from Instro to the British Army for operational use with a lead time of only a few months, demonstrating the company’s agility and its ability to respond swiftly to the needs of the UK Armed Forces.

Representatives from DE&S recently visited Instro’s site to oversee the process and formally provide approval for the initial delivery of the systems to the British Army.

Prior to delivery of this first tranche of systems, a number of XACT nv33 systems were supplied to the 1st Division at Imphal Barracks in York, in order to provide instruction on the capabilities of the Night Vision Goggles to the Divisional Training Advisory Team (DTAT).

The lightweight micro binocular XACT nv33 Night Vision Goggles have been supplied in a helmet-mounted configuration, with size, weight and improved capabilities that have been well-received by the Army. The systems will allow troops to maximise their mission efficiency in dark conditions and enable them to operate at a tactical level in both dismounted and mounted roles. Products from the XACT family are already in operational use with a number of NATO countries including Germany, the Netherlands and Israel.

Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK said:

The manufacture and rapid supply of the XACT nv33 NVGs marks another step in our contribution to the UK Armed Forces, and the presence of DE&S at our facility in Kent reflects that. The NVGs have been proven to enhance operational effectiveness of several militaries globally, and Instro’s work for the UK Ministry of Defence will continue to create more jobs in the UK, growing the local workforce and enhancing skill development in the region.

Revision Announces Improved Fit & Performance for SnowHawk Cold Weather Goggle and Balaclava Systems

Friday, December 17th, 2021

Essex Junction, Vermont (December 17, 2021) – Revision Military, world leader in ballistic and laser protective eyewear systems, announces improved fit and performance for SnowHawk Cold Weather Goggle and Balaclava systems. Improvements include migrating from a single size balaclava to two sizes – better accommodating a wide range of end users while ensuring secure and comfortable fit – and also expanding the available balaclava line to include additional U.S. Berry compliant and Aclima® wool options.

“SnowHawk continues to be a unique product in the military and tactical market, and we’re excited to evolve the product line and it’s performance,” said Revision CEO Amy Coyne. “Revision recognizes the growing need for cold weather equipment designed not only to protect in extreme climates and conditions, but also optimize the performance of end-users. Revision is continuing to expand our capabilities for protective eyewear systems thoughtfully tailored to specific environments.”

Cold climate operations have become an essential tactical focus for militaries around the world, with many dedicating more resources and training to maneuvers in the Arctic and other cold weather regions. This shift has generated a growing demand for gear that can withstand harsh conditions and function in extreme environments. Extensive time, attention, and resources were dedicated to ensuring the breathability of this cold weather system: Mesh over the mouth and nose directs breath away from the goggle; the dual-pane thermal gasket lens creates an insulated barrier; built-in top and lateral forced-air vents provide constant airflow; and, Revision’s leading OcuMax© Plus coating is applied on the inside of the lens to prevent fogging, plus a hard-coat is applied to the outside of the lens to resist scratching. The SnowHawk system’s balaclava features Anon’s Magnetic Facemask Integration (MFI®) technology to seamlessly integrate the goggle and balaclava, ensuring stabilization and seal, with no skin exposed. The system achieves total face and head coverage, but is also intuitively designed for ease of use and swift removal when necessary.

Revision developed this goggle system in collaboration with Anon Optics, a leader in goggle design for snow sports and a brand owned by Burton Snowboards, one of the world’s premier snowsports companies. The SnowHawk Cold Weather System is the first-ever fully integrated ballistic goggle and balaclava system offering complete face coverage, superior anti-fog performance, and ballistic protection.

Select SnowHawk google kits are on the U.S. Army Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL), and multiple goggle and balaclava combinations have National Stock Numbers (NSNs). Visit revisionmilitary.com for more information.
