100% Rustproof, Mini-Framelock the Size of a Dog Tag

This Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 Terrain 365™ launches their DTK-AT mini-framelock folder. A very compact knife that is the size of a standard US Issue “Dog Tag”. Featuring their rustproof and edge-holding Terravantium™ blade, this mini-framelock folder can be used as a backup, hide-away, in survival kits/tins, fits in any pocket or can be worn around the neck. The “AT” designation for Terrain 365’s folders indicates a build that uses 100% non-ferrous alloys, are non-magnetic and rustproof. Any knife is only as useful as it is present on one’s person, and the DTK-AT is a very capable EDC folder in a very compact and easy to carry size.

The DTK-AT from Terrain 365 will be available in a fine industrial matte finish.

The team at Terrain 365 states,

“Our company Co-Founder Patrick introduced his first ‘dog tag” sized knife sometime back in 2003. It was a simple design and made of 100% titanium. This new DTK-AT is quite a step forward using modern framelock construction and the 100% non-ferrous and non-magnetic materials Terrain 365 is known for. Using the standard US Military issue ‘dog tag’ as the footprint for our new mini-framelock we came up with this design. It can be put into any pocket, worn around the neck and well suited for pocket survival kits/tins. The same attention to detail and carefully considered manufacturing steps that we put in our full sized edged tools are also applied to this mini-framelock. The DTK-AT is intended as a backup should you ever lose your primary and gives the EDCer that little extra piece of mind. A 100% rustproof blade and handle, a keen working edge that lasts, and a very capable cutting tool in a very compact size.”

The Terrain 365™ DTK-AT will be available for $179.00, at 1:00pm Pacific on their website Wednesday, December 16th, 2020.

New Book Shares True Stories of Veterans Living with PTSD and the Unwavering Support They Received From Their Service Dogs

Tuesday, December 15th, 2020

Author Christine Hassing brings awareness to the level of healing service dogs bring to those living with trauma in ‘Hope Has A Cold Nose’

BLOOMINGDALE, Mich. – Statistics show that twenty-two U.S. military veterans commit suicide per day. This alarming issue inspired author, mentor and inspirational speaker Christine Hassing to learn more about the experiences of veterans suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST). She soon discovered the remarkable impact service dogs played in their journey towards healing and recovery. Wanting to share their perspective, she collaborated with twenty-three veterans and compiled their unique stories in her recently published book, “Hope Has A Cold Nose.”  This incredible collection of true tales conveys how service dogs make the difference for those reintegrating themselves into civilian life.

While earning her master’s degree, Hassing’s path intersected with a veteran and his service dog. After listening to their story, she knew that she wanted to spotlight the struggles of fellow veterans like him who are healing from trauma with the support of their furry friend. From sensing a nightmare and waking a veteran before terror takes hold, to placing a comforting paw on someone’s shoulder to ward off a panic attack, these dogs provide immeasurable support day and night.

Each chapter shares the story of a different human-canine pair as they explore their life changing relationship. The compelling testimonies from each and every storyteller in the book reminds readers of the importance of compassion and community during the recovery process for veterans.

“It is my hope that the stories within this book can raise awareness about service dogs as a healing modality for those journeying with PTSD,” says Hassing. “and to inspire those who are struggling to not lose their will to live.”

An inspiring read, “Hope Has A Cold Nose” showcases the holistic healing power of canines. Filled with extraordinary stories of resilience, compassion, survival, hope and recovery, this book is an unforgettable look at how animals can help their human counterparts heal from the deepest emotional wounds.

“WILDCraft: West of Somewhere” Now Streaming on Amazon Prime

Tuesday, December 15th, 2020

(COLUMBIA, SC, December 14, 2020) WILDCraft Entertainment is excited to announce the release of Season Two of the WILDCraft Series, WILDCraft: West of Somewhere, on Amazon Prime Instant Video.

Season One, WILDCraft: South Africa, chronicled the adventures of four outdoor writers hunting free-range Kudu in South Africa’s Northern Cape. The epic four-episode series took the viewer on a real-life, unscripted, multi-character, tent-camp adventure. The series debuted on Amazon Prime Video in October of 2019.

Season Two follows four writers on their adventure across Texas. Gun Digest Editor-in-Chief Luke Hartle joins up with outdoor writers Richard Mann and Len Waldron and the legendary outdoor writer and hunter Ron Spomer. The cast prepare for their adventure at the FTW Ranch where they receive training and dial in their gear for the hunt. From there they start their overland journey, driving across Texas loaded with their gear to their hunting destination. Once they arrive, they explore the rugged and picturesque terrain of West Texas with off-road vehicles and test their skills on a poor-man’s sheep hunt in pursuit of free-range aoudad—Barbary sheep. Special guest appearance by Sheriff Jim Wilson.

Presented by SIG Sauer, the eight-part series is filmed in 6K and 4K UltraHD bringing the hunting and campfire settings to your home as if you are actually there. Episode eight is a behind the scenes special showing just what it takes to produce this type of hunting and adventure series.

“Bringing a large film crew to the rough countryside of West Texas was a challenge,” said Fernando Coelho, Executive Producer of WILDCraft. Fernando continued, “A production like this becomes easier when you have sponsors like SIG Sauer, Remington, Sportsman’s Guide, FTW Ranch and many others supporting the project. With the help of Sony we were able to film this series with cameras normally used on full blown high budget motion pictures. But with that brought about new challenges for our crew. In the end, I feel we came away with footage that the viewer is going to truly enjoy watching.”

Episodes 1 through 7 of WILDCraft: West of Somewhere are now available streaming direct from Amazon Prime Instant video.

tnvc.com/shop/tnvc-nvg-pouch-padded-expandable-nvg-ppe

The TNVC NVG-PPE is a new solution to an old problem–a modern, practical, and useful update to the classic green “lunch sack” NVG Carrying Case, and designed in-house at TNVC.

One of the most common yet baffling accessories usually included with night vision devices is green soft case, issued by the thousands with USGI AN/PVS-14s and often provided with many night vision systems. While the “lunch sack” undoubtedly does in fact do its job of carrying night vision devices, it doesn’t really do much to protect the device or keep the contents of the case and basic issue items (BII) organized–as a storage, shipping, and carrying case, it leaves a great deal to be desired, causing many users to seek alternative solutions.

In our continuing efforts to improve not only existing products, but their accessories, we decided to take another look at the NVG carrying case and re-design it from the ground up. In examining other solutions and alternatives on the market, we found that carrying cases and pouches tended to come in either one of two main categories:

– Hard-sided cases of varying quality that were primarily designed for shipping and administrative storage, but were often far larger than they had to be and not very useful in the field

– Too small and/or overtly specific in and that they either only fit a single device or type of device, but none of the common accessories or BII that some users might want to keep with their NVGs, or that would only support one specific application/method of carry

Moreover, in many cases, NVG-specific storage and carrying solutions tended to be surprisingly expensive for what they are.

The TNVC NVG Pouch, Padded Expandable was designed to not only be a useful OEM carrying case solution for shipping and storage of TNV NVG systems, but also to an adaptable and practical NVG pouch that could realistically be used in the field by a wide range of end-users with a wide variety of units, accessories, and configurations at a lower cost than many other NVG-specific case/carrying options.

The TNVC NVG-PPE has multiple zipper-secured compartments with multiple ways to access them, allowing you to not only securely carry and transport your single or dual tube night vision device, but any accessories you might need as well. The main pocket can support a dual tube night vision device with an ECOTI, or even dual PVS-14s and a FLIR Breach, while the secondary compartment can hold ancillary equipment and can be accessed either from the main compartment or from the outside.

The NVG-PPE also has a large Velcro loop panel on the lid, allowing ID/Callsign patches or placards to be placed on the pouch to identify individual pouches, as well as a rapid closure/compression/cinch strap with a Fastex buckle

The secondary compartment is also expandable with zippered 4-way stretch Tweave material, allowing you to securely carry small accessories such as spare batteries, cleaning supplies, etc., with the compartment collapsed, or larger items such as mounts, external battery packs, or any other equipment that you may want to keep with your night vision device when expanded. The soft-sided pouch is also sized so that it can be carried inside of a helmet for extra protection and to keep your gear together.

While we do not recommend attaching the TNVC NVG-PPE to individually worn first or second-line load-carrying gear, the NVG-PPE also has PALS webbing and is supplied with MALICE clips that offer a wide variety of options for mounting the pouch to MOLLE platforms like seat cover panels, range bags, or packs.

The TNVC NVG-PPE pouch isn’t designed to be the be-all, end-all of night vision cases, but rather to be a value-added alternative to some of the more useless alternatives that come with many night vision devices—even if you don’t use it for your night vision, it’s a highly adaptable general purpose pouch that gives you a lot of options for different mission essential gear that provides some protection for the contents, but is not overly bulky or difficult to transport.
