Spectra Group (UK) Ltd to exhibit SlingShot tactical communications system for the first time at IDEX 2019

Spectra Group (UK) Ltd is an internationally renowned specialist provider of secure voice, data and satellite communications systems, specifically optimized for use in remote and challenging environments. Following significant interest from the Middle East and Asia, particularly regarding their battle-winning SlingShot tactical communications system, Spectra Group (UK) Ltd will this year be exhibiting at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX, for the first time.

IDEX is the only international defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region and takes place 17-21 February 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Arnold Defense to display FLETCHER Laser Guided Rocket Launcher at IDEX 2019

Arnold Defense, the St Louis based manufacturer of 2.75-inch rocket launchers, will be at this year’s International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2019) to showcase the FLETCHER Laser Guided Rocket Launcher. IDEX 2019 will take place 17-21 February 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and the FLETCHER 2.75-inch/70mm weapon system will be mounted on NIMR’s AJBAN Long Range Special Operations Vehicle (LRSOV) on Stand Number 05-A05.

Arnold Defense’s FLETCHER weapon system, first unveiled in 2017 at London’s DSEi Exhibition, has completed rigorous test-firing protocols, with laser target designation from both ground and air platforms, and is now in initial production. With FLETCHER, Arnold Defense has made a bold departure from the traditional concept of use for 2.75-inch rocket systems; that of an area suppression weapon ordinarily delivered by aviation assets. Arnold’s evolution has FLETCHER using advanced rocket-guidance technology to utilize ground-based launch platforms, meeting the demands of modern, vehicle-mounted and dismounted asymmetric warfare.

FLETCHER’s unique design allows for ease of operation, maintenance and sustainment. It employs an existing suite of guidance modules, rockets and warheads, already used in well-known programs and readily available to global forces. FLETCHER recently successfully completed a four-round live firing using multiple airborne laser platforms, confirming the ability to use laser designation from ground and air from various angles and offsets to a distance nearly 6km.

Following exceptional levels of interest expressed in FLETCHER, Arnold Defense is also developing a number of supplementary ground and maritime-based concepts. These exciting new concepts will expand FLETCHER’s utility into the arena of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), naval and littoral platforms. It his anticipated that the first of these integrated systems will be unveiled within months.

FLETCHER is supported by a team of global defense industry companies, collaborating under Arnold Defense’s leadership to combine their complimentary expertise. The team is able to provide a full-system approach to FLETCHER; incorporating design, validation, testing, manufacture and full-system integration within a wide range of ground-to-ground engagement scenarios.

SIG SAUER Announces Over 72,400 SIG Rifles to be Deployed with Indian Army

NEWINGTON, N.H., (February 20, 2019) –SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce the Government of India, Ministry of Defense has officially contracted with SIG SAUER to build and deliver 72,400 SIG716 rifles for its frontline infantry soldiers. The Indian Army, the second largest standing army in the world with more than 1.2 million active troops, is currently undergoing a comprehensive firearms procurement process to advance the capabilities of the Indian Army’s infantrymen.

“This is the first large firearms procurement of the Indian Government in decades, and the explicit mission for this tender was to modernize the infantry troopers of the Indian Army with the best rifle available,” began Ron Cohen, President and CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “We competed in an open tender with small arms manufacturers from around the world. The SIG716 rifle underwent a comprehensive and exhaustive testing and evaluation process where it outperformed the competition, and was ultimately chosen, and met all the criteria, as the best rifle to modernize the Indian Army.”

The SIG716 is an enhanced AR platform featuring a 16-inch barrel, M-LOK™ handguard, and a 6-position telescoping stock.

“The global importance of this contract for SIG SAUER is far reaching based on the size, location, and economic strength of India in the global market. We are very proud, and honored that the SIG716 was chosen for use by the fighting forces of the Indian Army, and we are looking forward to developing a strong partnership with India’s Ministry of Defense,” added Cohen.

SIG SAUER will build the SIG716 rifles for the Indian Army in New Hampshire.

Revision was selected by the Air National Guard (ANG) to supply Nerv Centr power management solutions for their Battlefield Airman Kits, for use by Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC). Revision has delivered 652 kits, each of which includes a Nerv Centr SharePack® Power Management System, a Nerv Centr SoloPack™ Battery, an Enhanced Charger, and select cables.

This order by the Air National Guard builds on several recent successes for Revision’s Nerv Centr family of power management products. Especially noteworthy is Revision’s work with the U.S. Marine Corps to supply the energy needs for their Target Handoff System—a constellation of interconnected devices that provide Scout Observers, Joint Fires Observers, and JTACs with the ability to self-locate, acquire targets, and refine and relay coordinate data for target engagement. Revision’s SoloPack Batteries and Nerv Centr Chargers provide centralized power that has greatly exceeded expectations—powering the THS for upward of 20 hours, compared to the eight-hour threshold set by the program.

Duraflex Consolidation Announcement

National Molding will be consolidating the Duraflex production from both our Miami Lakes, FL and Ambridge PA. into our Largo, Florida facility. Currently, the Largo plant manufactures medical products and they are well equipped to handle the attention to detail that the Duraflex line requires. The equipment (presses and molds) from both facilities will be relocated to our Largo, FL plant. We believe by consolidating all Duraflex production in one location we will be able to better serve our commercial and military customers.

We anticipate this transition to be completed mid-year 2019. The Largo, FL plant is well equipped and staffed to handle the complexities of our Duraflex line. We are excited to have all Duraflex production in one location and look forward to serving your plastic hardware needs in the future.
