Canada’s Leading Manufacturer of Tactical & Sports Gear Announces Expansion to the United States

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018

Available both to consumer and professional markets
img_7285.jpg

TORONTO, October 8, 2018 (Newswire.com) – Only three months after announcing its expansion to the European market with successful results, Canada’s leading manufacturer of tactical and sports products The Requirements Group (TRG) is starting its operations in the United States of America effective immediately.

With its two flagship brands Shadow Elite and Shadow Strategic, TRG will be able to serve both the agency and civilian markets. Having its own factory allows TRG to source and manufacture products the way they are meant to be. Having the ability to regulate strict quality control is what the company prides itself on. Reducing production costs by not outsourcing to third-party factories passes on the savings of premium products to the clients, as well as allowing the company to handle large-scale agency and government contracts.

“The main reason why our brands are so popular with both the professional and consumer end users is because every piece is engineered and tested by veteran and active tactical police and military operators,” says Glen Turpin, retired police officer, tactical expert and co-founder of The Requirements Group (TRG). “Above all, since we are a law enforcement and military veteran owned and operated company, we give a lot back to other veterans.”

Recently, TRG designed a specific style of pants for amputees. TRG has been working with veteran support groups to provide these products to those that can benefit from them. Also, the company is in works of developing an entire philanthropy division to support more injured veterans and active teams in the field.

“The TRG guys have stood on the front lines for years, fighting for our freedom and liberty, protecting our communities the same way those using our products today are. We know the requirements and rigorous demands our men and women in uniform face, so we want to make sure that the last thing they have to worry about is the quality, comfort and safety of the operational gear they are wearing,” says Jake Myers, veteran U.S. Army Combat Veteran and operations manager of TRG in the United States. “We don’t tell them what they should wear; we listen to them and design the gear to meet their requirements. We are one of them. We don’t operate the way other corporations do. Our approach is to treat our customers the way we wanted to be treated while we were active. We are here to provide solutions for them, not just get the sale. When they call our office, they know they will be speaking with one of us. That is the most essential way to get to know your clients and build a relationship with them. Whether our end user is a soldier, a cop, an outdoor enthusiast, active in airsoft community or an athlete, they are an individual and our job is to listen to them, not treat them like a number. They wear our gear, they are part of our family.”

Recently the tactical and sports apparel market has been flooded with low-grade, unreliable products as a result of many manufacturers turning to factories with no experience in tactical products. This move has neglected the end user’s comfort and safety. The Requirements Group (TRG) has been a company trying to turn around the market and deliver to the tactical professionals and outdoors consumers premium products which have been designed and tested by active and veteran tactical police, military and SAR (search & rescue) operators. All the requirements of the products are based on real-life experience of tactical and special forces operators.

The Newest Addition of 3M Ballistic Helmets: 3M Ballistic Helmet F70 Allows for Flexibility of Use in Multiple Operational Environments

Configurable helmet designed for broad use from combat operations to law enforcement

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Oct. 8, 2018 – Military and police forces across the world require cutting-edge protection to match an ever-evolving range of operational environments. Ceradyne, Inc., a 3M company, designed the new

3M Ballistic Helmet F70 for maximum flexibility of use in military combat missions, special forces operations and law enforcement tactical operations. The helmet leverages 3M expertise to deliver its high level of protection for its low weight.

The 3M Ballistic Helmet F70 provides a unique combination of ballistic performance, low weight, modular system design and optimized geometry. The helmet comes in both high cut and mid cut (full coverage) versions and offers an optional ballistic mandible and ballistic visor. The helmet geometry is engineered for improved coverage of critical areas and increased stability and comfort.

Unlike conventional helmet designs, the no thru-hole design eliminates weak spots in the ballistic shell by removing thru-holes for the night vision device shroud, retention system and rails. With this state-of-the-art design, bolts can no longer become secondary projectiles during a ballistic event.

“Every detail matters when it comes to protecting those who serve their countries and communities, and that’s why we continually develop advanced solutions like the 3M Ballistic Helmet F70,” said Terry Griffith, defense business manager, 3M Advanced Materials Division. “We ensure our designs use the highest standards for compliance-driven manufacturing that have earned 3M a reputation our customers can trust. Everything we do is driven by a deep passion to help military and law enforcement stay safe as they work to achieve their vital objectives.”

The 3M Ballistic Helmet F70 meets or exceeds all commonly specified Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) requirements for ballistic fragmentation and bump protection and meets NIJ IIIA ballistic penetration protection standards. It provides V50 fragmentation protection against 17 grain (.22 caliber) FSP at greater than 2,750 feet per second (greater than 840 meters per second) when tested in accordance with NATO STANAG 2920. The ballistic shell weight is 1.68 pounds (770 grams) in the high cut version and 1.91 pounds (870 grams) in the mid cut version.

The Air Force Test Parachute Program (TPP) also conducted an evaluation of the 3M Ballistic Helmet F70 and determined it to be suitable for Air Force static line and military free fall operations.

Each F70 helmet comes with reverse dovetail rails that accept common industry accessories. Optional accessories designed for the helmet include ballistic mandibles, visors, helmet covers, over ear ballistic protection (high cut) and counterweights. In addition, the helmet works seamlessly with 3M PELTOR communications and hearing protection solutions.

3M will debut the helmet at booth 7741 at the AUSA 2018 Annual Meeting and Exposition, Oct. 8-10, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The helmet will be available for sale in December 2018.

Gore Launches New Rugged, Low-Weight Tethered Drone Cables For Commercial & Military Applications At AUSA 2018

Tuesday, October 9th, 2018

LANDENBERG, PA, OCTOBER 4, 2018 — W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) is pleased to offer a new, game-changing cable option for tethered drones used in the military and commercial applications. GORE® Tethered Drone Cables strike a balance by combining power and fiber optic cables with durable, lighter-weight materials in a hybrid solution that provides significant benefits. These high-performance cables maximize Tether Management System (TMS) availability, provide more design options and payload, and enable greater drone operational capability.

High Performance and Durability in Lightweight Package

GORE® Tethered Drone Cables have a unique design that significantly reduces size and weight without sacrificing mechanical durability and electrical performance. They have a dielectric that is 20 percent smaller than standard nylon cables, which means they take up less space inside the TMS system. Gore’s cables are also proven to provide greater weight stability in harsh fluids compared to standard nylon cables, further increasing design/payload options and operating height.

Better Protection for Longer Life

Gore’s rugged tethered drone cables deliver non-stop power, secure signals, and continuous data transmission over the drone’s lifetime. These cables are engineered with high-strength and weather-proof materials that withstand crushing, abrasion, repeated reeling, extreme temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, and tough terrain.

The single-mode fiber optic cable meets ARINC 802-2 requirements and is proven to provide a high level of crush resistance with low insertion loss, ensuring a secure data link from the drone to the ground support equipment (GSE). In addition, Gore’s patent-pending fiber braid cable jacket is low friction and resists abrasion induced during operation or by the TMS. This low-friction jacket also makes it easier to handle Gore’s tethered drone cables compared to standard nylon cables.

Typical applications include: video streaming; news and events; commercial photography; search and rescue; industrial and land inspections; telecommunications; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); electro-optical infrared (EO/IR) sensors; and signals intelligence.

Proven Track Record

For decades, Gore’s products have been used successfully in many aerospace and defense applications — from the first moon landing to today’s International Space Station, commercial airliners, fighter jets, combat vehicles, and naval platforms. Gore has been a trusted partner to the aerospace industry and many branches of the military, delivering cables and materials with an optimal blend of durability, reliability and flexibility.

GORE® Tethered Drone Cables, along with Gore’s collection of high-performance cables, materials and fabrics, will be on display at the AUSA (Association of US Army) Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC on October 8-10, Booth 3115. Additional details can be found at gore.com/ausa2018.

UF PRO – Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Jacket

Sunday, October 7th, 2018

New UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket Offers Enhanced Protection from Cold Weather

The Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket from UF PRO® is set to debut. The jacket’s design and materials provide extra warmth in extreme cold weather without overheating the wearer or causing loss of focus.

TRZIN, SLOVENIA (2 October 2018)—Soon to be available from UF PRO® is the long-awaited Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket, which the maker of innovative clothing for military and law enforcement personnel said today will prove ideal for wear while engaging in heavy physical activities at or below freezing temperatures.

“Extreme cold weather has always been a challenge to work in because it shifts your focus away from whatever vital tasks you’re doing and puts it instead on just trying to stay warm,” said UF PRO® head of product development Armin Wagner.

“Our new Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket solves this problem by providing the extra warmth you need in order to stay focused on the mission,” Wagner said. “And, the jacket does this without causing you to become overheated.”

Wagner predicted purchasers will discover so much to like about the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 that they will make it their go-to tactical jacket.

Weighing less than a single kilogram, the new version of the jacket builds on the high-performance characteristics of the original UF PRO® Delta AcE upper-body outerwear, Wagner disclosed.

“Its face material is still 100-percent windproof and water-repellent, and we continue to use the special lightweight thermal-insulation lining that works even when wet,” he said. “But now, this tactical jacket is more of a workhorse than ever—and it’s as much at home in the cold as it is in dust and dirt,” he said.

One of the key improvements of the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket is better moisture management. The sleeves, for example, are lined with merino wool—a fiber acclaimed for its exceptional comfort and moisture wicking properties.

“These sleeve liners absorb body moisture and transport it outside the jacket extremely fast,” Wagner explained.

Also big: the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket features detachable air/pac® inserts in the shoulder and upper back.

“The air/pac® inserts create an 8mm-thick air barrier between wearer and outer fabric,” Wagner noted. “This traps hot air, providing needed heat and super-rapid drying.”

Another major improvement is the abrasion-resistance capabilities of the sleeves and side-stretch panels.

“We reinforced the elbows with CORDURA®, which is just about the toughest and longest-lasting synthetic fabric available,” Wagner said. “And we also added ultra-strong nylon mesh to the side-stretch panels. The result is a tactical jacket that holds up exceptionally well, even under the load of a heavy plate-carrier and backpack.”

Responding to user wishes, UF PRO® designed the Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket to include an adjustable collar. Said Wagner, “You can regulate the amount of protection your neck gets while you’re being blasted by icy wind. This feature is meant to let you stay comfortable at all times and in all conditions.”

Yet another enhancement is the addition of a strap to make it easier to open the jacket’s zippered upper-sleeve pocket.

“If you don’t have a free hand to work the zipper, you can just grab the strap with your teeth and pull on it by tilting your head—the zipper will slide right open,” Wagner said.

Topping it all off, the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket now comes with wrist warmers that have openings sized to let the face of a wristwatch peek through.

“Keeping an eye on the time is essential in almost every type of situation, and the way we’ve designed the wrist warmers allows you to easily do just that,” said Wagner. “No need to fumble around with the sleeves to get a look at your watch. You simply glance down and there’s the time.”

The UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket soon will be available at the company’s online shop and at its distribution partners, according to Wagner.

He added that subscribers of the UF PRO® newsletter can look forward to being the first to receive word of the exact date of initial availability.

_Echelon Software Announces Three New Additions to the Black Powder Red Earth Series

Saturday, October 6th, 2018

October 4, 2018 – New York, New York – _Echelon Software today announces three new additions to the Black Powder Red Earth® series.

First, is Echelon’s first step into miniature wargaming. Partnering with Spectre Miniatures, the _Echelon team has specced a chalk of Cold Harbor Assaulters for play in the Spectre Operations tabletop modern war game. These 28mm miniatures are based on Ember QRF teams depicted in Black Powder Red Earth Yemen and have been modeled to the exact specs of these assaulters. The anticipated release date of the set is Black Friday, 2018.

Steve May, of Spectre said, “We are very excited to be part of bringing BPRE into the world of tabletop gaming.” _Echelon could ask for no better partner than Spectre, who’s miniatures we’ve used in play since the brand launched in 2014.

Continuing with this thread, the _Echelon team is now designing a co-operative PVE board game focused on the application of small unit tactics in asymmetric urban warfare. With a campaign and rule system built from the ground up as an analog for small units working in non-permissive urban settings, the game is laser focused on creating opportunities for meaningful decisions employing cutting-edge weapons, set in real-world locations with real-world challenges as seen in the Black Powder Red Earth graphic novels and mini-series. Spectre will be developing the miniature component of the game as well as advising on creating a frictionless and natural game flow.

Finally, _Echelon has begun development of a Black Powder Red Earth animated mini-series. Conceived of as a 3 episode animated piece, series creator Jon Chang has been researching + developing the scenario since August 2017 with SME’s from US Army Special Operations. As with all BPRE projects, series creators work to insure the missions, tactics and equipment are all kept authentic and that the opponents tactics are accurately reflected.

Screen writing began with purpose in August 2018, with storyboarding set to begin in October in anticipation of a trip to Tokyo in January 2019 where the team will be selected to create this next endeavor. “As life long anime fans, dating back to series like Space Cruiser Yamato(StarBlazers), Macross, Akira, Gunbuster and Area 88 – it has been a dream to take the BPRE story from the page to the moving picture.”
