“Terrain 365 is the brainchild of Michael Vagnino (ABS Master Bladesmith) and Patrick Ma (of Prometheus Design Werx). Together they founded this new brand out of their mutual interests in outdoor knives – tools and research into unique alloys that performed in any natural environment without rusting, pitting and requiring far less to no maintenance. Any user who spends a great deal of time in the field can appreciate at the performance capabilities of the alloys being used in the Terrain 365 knives. While dendritic cobalt alloys such as their Terravantium™ are still somewhat of a rarity, both Michael and Patrick hope to introduce more and more users to this high performance material with their bladeware. From backpackers, overlanders, expedition members, divers, hunters, river runners, and for any avid outdoors person, the Terrain 365 line of goods will serve them well across all these uses-cases and environments. At least 2 other models are currently in development and more to follow.”

Terrain 365™ launches both these knives and website at 3:00pm Pacific Time, Sept 17, 2018.

Cubic Mission Solutions awarded orders to deliver GATR systems and services to support Army expeditionary communications
SAN DIEGO – Sept. 6, 2018 – Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) today announced its Cubic Mission Solutions (CMS) business division received orders worth more than $55 million to deliver its inflatable satellite communication and networking systems to the U.S. Army. These orders will satisfy the Army’s upcoming fielding need for 1.2- and 2.4-meter GATR systems, associated spares as well as training and sustainment support.

“Cubic’s GATR satellite communication and networking systems offer the transportability, high-bandwidth capabilities and the ease of setup necessary for Army units to execute their mission,” said Mike Twyman, president of Cubic Mission Solutions. “We are proud to continue our work with the Army and look forward to delivering solutions that offer tremendous operational advantages to our customer.”

Cubic’s solution provides robust high-speed links that enable secure network communications, sustainment support and mission command across the full spectrum of operations, from initial entry to sustained operations. INVISTA Launches New ‘Wolf Gray’ CORDURA TrueLock Fiber for Lot-to-Lot Color Consistency in Military, Tactical, and Law Enforcement Applications

Saturday, September 15th, 2018

The launch of CORDURA® Wolf Gray TrueLockTM fiber is a major milestone for INVISTA’s Camden, S.C. facility, expanded with new equipment in 2017 to increase U.S. capacity of high-tenacity, nylon 6,6 specialty fibers for CORDURA® fabrics.

WICHITA, KS – September 10, 2018 – INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand announces its latest innovation in solution-dyed nylon (SDN) 6,6 fiber technology with mill partner MMI Textiles, a premier supplier and one-stop shop supplying fabric, webbing and elastics in the textile marketplace for more than 21 years. MMI Textiles is the exclusive North American provider of fabrics and webbing made with the new Wolf Gray CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber, now through December 2018.

CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber is created from INVISTA nylon 6,6 multi-filament fiber that is solution dyed, locking the color in at the molten polymer extrusion level to create deep, durable color throughout the entire fiber structure. Color consistency is crucial when pairing fabric with other materials such as webbing and elastic to create uniform garments and gear.

“Gray is one of the most commonly used colors in military/tactical applications, but was previously one of the most difficult to match, with several varying proprietary versions of ‘Wolf Gray’ on the market,” said Nick Rivera, director of operations at MMI Textiles. “One of our customers – TyrTactical – was having challenges matching webbings and fabric and came to us for a solution. We then turned to CORDURA® brand.”

“After examining six different shades of gray together, we worked hand-in-hand to create our latest innovative CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber offering,” said Allen Mortimer, North American regional manager and product manager at CORDURA® brand. “The Wolf Gray shade of CORDURA® TruelockTM fiber offers color that is uniform across the components of gear and apparel, and durable enough to stay true after exposure to the elements and intense military missions.”

The color achieved with CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber has inherent Near-Infrared (NIR) capabilities, is abrasion and UV-fade resistant and does not bleed or crock. With color-fastness locked in at the fiber level, excellent shade consistency lot-to-lot and across multiple textile components (such as fabric and webbing), UV strength stability, and long-lasting vibrancy are made possible.

The process of color encapsulation used in CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber also offers several environmental benefits such as reduced water and energy consumption*, and reduced dye and chemical usage in textile processing.

The announcement is a major milestone for INVISTA’s Camden, S.C. facility, which expanded last year to increase U.S. capacity of high-tenacity, specialty fibers for CORDURA® fabrics. The Camden investment has accelerated progress in the development of new SDN capabilities – which complement the facility’s existing high tenacity nylon 6,6 filament fiber manufacturing processes.

In addition to Wolf Gray, solution-dyed CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber is available in Desert Sand, Tan, Coyote, Ranger Green, Camo Green and Black. Plans currently being put into action at Camden include expansion of the CORDURA® TrueLockTM filament product line to introduce additional standard colors and deniers, as well as the flexibility to work to smaller minimum order quantities and custom colorways.

“Throughout our 50-year journey, we’ve worked to establish a foundation built on durable and long-lasting fiber technologies, including our legacy of solution dyed, high-performance nylon 6,6 offerings,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “The launch of our latest Wolf Gray CORDURA® TrueLockTM fiber is a testament to the strength of supply chain collaboration – a joint effort between an end-user, gear manufacturer, fabric supplier and fiber business.”

Tyr-Tactical gear in Wolf Gray is currently being put to the test by the Phoenix, AZ SWAT Team.

Team Wendy Introduces 3 New Colors For M-216 Ski Search And Rescue Helmet

Friday, September 14th, 2018

Now Five Total Color Options to Match Your Mission or Style375FAF88-6241-4680-920E-4C8C00B837E7

CLEVELAND, OH (Sept. 14, 2017) – Cleveland-based Team Wendy® announced the release of three additional colors of its M-216 Ski Search and Rescue (SAR) helmet today. These three new color options – MultiCam® Alpine/Gray, MultiCam® Black/Gray and Red/Gray – bring the total number of available colors of the M-216 to five.

The helmet launched in Nov. 2017 with two colors: Black/Gray and White/Gray. Its hybrid shell design is two-tone; an ABS hard front shell provides reinforcement for mounted accessories while an in-mold polycarbonate rear shell reduces weight.

“The M-216 is the only alpine-rated helmet of its kind, providing the special operations community with a platform that can be scaled up or down to meet the mission requirements,” said Jose Rizo-Patron, CEO of Team Wendy. “In the helmet’s second season, we wanted to bring additional colors to the marketplace so that professionals and everyday skiers alike have options to suit their needs.”

Different from traditional ski helmets, the M-216 incorporates mounting capabilities not previously available to operators in any ski or snow rated helmet. Utilizing features originally developed for the military and tactical community, the helmet provides side accessory rails for mounting a variety of lights and cameras, and a glass-reinforced polycarbonate shroud for attaching headlamps and cameras. A machined aluminum Wilcox® shroud insert is available by request for mounting night vision and thermal optics devices. Every helmet includes a Princeton Tec® task light (choice of Switch-MPLS or Switch-Rail) that seamlessly integrates with the accessory rail. The helmet has also been optimized for comfort and stability featuring a Boa® Fit System for precise fit adjustment and single-handed quick release, and an under-the-chin retention system with a Fidlock® magnetic buckle for one-handed operation even while wearing gloves.

The protection offered by the M-216 Ski SAR helmet is highlighted by meeting ASTM F2040-11 for recreational snow sports and BS EN 1077:2007 Class B for alpine skiing and snowboarding.

Black/Gray, Red/Gray and White/Gray retail at $328.95 while MultiCam Alpine/Gray and MultiCam Black/Gray retail at $340.95. All five colors are available for sale on TeamWendy.com and through authorized Team Wendy distributors; and will be available on Amazon Prime in the coming weeks. The three new color options are available for pre-sale with fulfillment in October.
