New UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket Offers Enhanced Protection from Cold Weather

The Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket from UF PRO® is set to debut. The jacket’s design and materials provide extra warmth in extreme cold weather without overheating the wearer or causing loss of focus.

TRZIN, SLOVENIA (2 October 2018)—Soon to be available from UF PRO® is the long-awaited Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket, which the maker of innovative clothing for military and law enforcement personnel said today will prove ideal for wear while engaging in heavy physical activities at or below freezing temperatures.

“Extreme cold weather has always been a challenge to work in because it shifts your focus away from whatever vital tasks you’re doing and puts it instead on just trying to stay warm,” said UF PRO® head of product development Armin Wagner.

“Our new Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket solves this problem by providing the extra warmth you need in order to stay focused on the mission,” Wagner said. “And, the jacket does this without causing you to become overheated.”

Wagner predicted purchasers will discover so much to like about the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 that they will make it their go-to tactical jacket.

Weighing less than a single kilogram, the new version of the jacket builds on the high-performance characteristics of the original UF PRO® Delta AcE upper-body outerwear, Wagner disclosed.

“Its face material is still 100-percent windproof and water-repellent, and we continue to use the special lightweight thermal-insulation lining that works even when wet,” he said. “But now, this tactical jacket is more of a workhorse than ever—and it’s as much at home in the cold as it is in dust and dirt,” he said.

One of the key improvements of the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket is better moisture management. The sleeves, for example, are lined with merino wool—a fiber acclaimed for its exceptional comfort and moisture wicking properties.

“These sleeve liners absorb body moisture and transport it outside the jacket extremely fast,” Wagner explained.

Also big: the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket features detachable air/pac® inserts in the shoulder and upper back.

“The air/pac® inserts create an 8mm-thick air barrier between wearer and outer fabric,” Wagner noted. “This traps hot air, providing needed heat and super-rapid drying.”

Another major improvement is the abrasion-resistance capabilities of the sleeves and side-stretch panels.

“We reinforced the elbows with CORDURA®, which is just about the toughest and longest-lasting synthetic fabric available,” Wagner said. “And we also added ultra-strong nylon mesh to the side-stretch panels. The result is a tactical jacket that holds up exceptionally well, even under the load of a heavy plate-carrier and backpack.”

Responding to user wishes, UF PRO® designed the Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket to include an adjustable collar. Said Wagner, “You can regulate the amount of protection your neck gets while you’re being blasted by icy wind. This feature is meant to let you stay comfortable at all times and in all conditions.”

Yet another enhancement is the addition of a strap to make it easier to open the jacket’s zippered upper-sleeve pocket.

“If you don’t have a free hand to work the zipper, you can just grab the strap with your teeth and pull on it by tilting your head—the zipper will slide right open,” Wagner said.

Topping it all off, the UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket now comes with wrist warmers that have openings sized to let the face of a wristwatch peek through.

“Keeping an eye on the time is essential in almost every type of situation, and the way we’ve designed the wrist warmers allows you to easily do just that,” said Wagner. “No need to fumble around with the sleeves to get a look at your watch. You simply glance down and there’s the time.”

The UF PRO® Delta AcE Plus Gen.2 Tactical Jacket soon will be available at the company’s online shop and at its distribution partners, according to Wagner.

He added that subscribers of the UF PRO® newsletter can look forward to being the first to receive word of the exact date of initial availability.

_Echelon Software Announces Three New Additions to the Black Powder Red Earth Series

Saturday, October 6th, 2018

October 4, 2018 – New York, New York – _Echelon Software today announces three new additions to the Black Powder Red Earth® series.

First, is Echelon’s first step into miniature wargaming. Partnering with Spectre Miniatures, the _Echelon team has specced a chalk of Cold Harbor Assaulters for play in the Spectre Operations tabletop modern war game. These 28mm miniatures are based on Ember QRF teams depicted in Black Powder Red Earth Yemen and have been modeled to the exact specs of these assaulters. The anticipated release date of the set is Black Friday, 2018.

Steve May, of Spectre said, “We are very excited to be part of bringing BPRE into the world of tabletop gaming.” _Echelon could ask for no better partner than Spectre, who’s miniatures we’ve used in play since the brand launched in 2014.

Continuing with this thread, the _Echelon team is now designing a co-operative PVE board game focused on the application of small unit tactics in asymmetric urban warfare. With a campaign and rule system built from the ground up as an analog for small units working in non-permissive urban settings, the game is laser focused on creating opportunities for meaningful decisions employing cutting-edge weapons, set in real-world locations with real-world challenges as seen in the Black Powder Red Earth graphic novels and mini-series. Spectre will be developing the miniature component of the game as well as advising on creating a frictionless and natural game flow.

Finally, _Echelon has begun development of a Black Powder Red Earth animated mini-series. Conceived of as a 3 episode animated piece, series creator Jon Chang has been researching + developing the scenario since August 2017 with SME’s from US Army Special Operations. As with all BPRE projects, series creators work to insure the missions, tactics and equipment are all kept authentic and that the opponents tactics are accurately reflected.

Screen writing began with purpose in August 2018, with storyboarding set to begin in October in anticipation of a trip to Tokyo in January 2019 where the team will be selected to create this next endeavor. “As life long anime fans, dating back to series like Space Cruiser Yamato(StarBlazers), Macross, Akira, Gunbuster and Area 88 – it has been a dream to take the BPRE story from the page to the moving picture.”

Friday, October 5th, 2018

October 5th, 2018: Rosco Manufacturing; a Rhode Island based manufacturer of quality American made gun barrels is proud to announce that they will be the title sponsor of the first annual “Snipers Unknown” event managed by Fenix Strategies (October 6th-7th at the Clinton House Plantation, S.C.).

The event will be a Long-Range Precision “Blind Stage” competition, a first of its kind. Friday, October 5th, 2018

The versatile application can be used with a variety of assault rifles and machine guns
AUSA, October 8-10, Washington, D.C., Hall B, Stand 27523 October, 2018- Double Shoot – a pioneer in advanced systems for zeroing high accuracy weapons and scoring systems – presents for the first time a unique and innovative smartphone application for zeroing weapons, scoring, and comparison. The versatile application can be used with a variety of assault rifles and machine guns.

Double Shoot’s unique application is a response to the manual weapon zeroing process currently being used by armies and security forces around the world. This manual process is slow and requires a great deal of ammunition, making it expensive while not delivering a high level of accuracy. The new application developed by Double Shoot streamlines the zeroing process, making it significantly more efficient by saving 30-50% in training time and ammunition. Optimizing the entire process of shooter training, the application turns every shooting range into a smart shooting range.

Double Shoot utilizes data-based analysis within a restricted web interface in order to provide a wide spectrum of reports, not only to individuals and instructors, but to entire units, HQ and the staff levels. The system, intended for both military and police forces, works even when the smartphone is in airplane mode, and can be installed on both Android and iOS phones.

The company has been awarded a Certificate of Patent in Israel and has filed an international patent application.

According to BG (ret) Oren Avman, CO & CEO, “We are pleased to present our unique weapon zeroing solution at AUSA 2018. Designed for the military and law enforcement, this application – utilizing today’s most advanced technologies – is smart and easy to use. It reduces the amount of time and ammunition needed to properly zero weaponry by 30-50%, significantly lowering the costs and manpower required at shooting ranges, and immediately creating a smart shooting range out of any shooting range.”

Juggernaut.Case – Ejection-Seat EKB (Electronic Kneeboard) Solution Has Successfully Passed Testing

Friday, October 5th, 2018

After several years of development with US and Coalition Air Forces and Naval Aviation, Juggernaut.Case™ is pleased to announce that the Ejection-Seat EKB (Electronic Kneeboard) Solution has successfully passed ejection-seat blast tests conducted both in the USA and France.

69152B68-6C24-4716-9C23-35CCE0528366

The kneeboard-mount and tablet case must withstand the violent forces generated when a pilot ejects from a fighter aircraft at speeds of up to 650knts without disengaging or causing injury the pilot’s leg during ejection. This required an entirely new design that deflected the windblast and survives g-forces during the ejection process.

Two separate tests (with multiple blasts) were performed within specialized blast chambers. One by PMA-281 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River and the other by the French Air Force at a test facility in Toulouse, France. Both tests were successful, and the products are now approved for ejection seat aircraft worldwide.

The new design features a two-strap configuration utilizing the new ITW Nexus GT-Cobra™ polymer buckles and a laminar-airflow mount-base that contours to the pilot’s leg to which the case is fastened to. This design also affords a stable platform on the pilot’s leg for tablet use. Paper maps and aluminum chart holders become an unnecessary addition to the cockpit, except for backup maps that are carried separately.

Juggernaut.Case™ currently offers two tablet Ejection-Seat EKB Solutions; the Samsung Tab Active 2 and Tab S2 8.0. The development for the iPad Mini 3/4 generation is also pending. The Tab Active 2 EKB also features an active S-Pen storage and tether in the top door of the SLEEV case. All EJ-SEAT EKB Solution Kits retail for $400 USD and are available on the Juggernaut.Case™ webstore: shop.juggernautcase.com/products/mount-ejection-seat-ekb-solution

All EKB Solutions are based on 8-inch (diagonal) touchscreen platforms for HF (human factors) approval within the cockpit as to not interfere with flight controls, ejection seat or interfaces/displays.

The Tab Active 2 Ejection-Seat EKB Solution will also be on display at AUSA in the Samsung Electronics Booth #1966, taking place 8 Oct-10 Oct 2018 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in D.C.

Revision to Showcase Large-Scale Platform Power Capabilities for Military Vehicles at AUSA

Friday, October 5th, 2018

Essex Junction, Vermont (October 5, 2018) – Revision—a world leader in developing advanced integrated soldier systems and power management solutions —will showcase the company’s latest vehicular power management systems at the Association of the U.S. Army’s (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., from October 8-10. Two platform power solutions will be on display at Revision’s booth 320: the Nerv Centr SWatPack™—modular lithium-ion power cells that make up Revision’s Silent Watch Battery Pack (SWBP)—and the Nerv Centr SWitchPack™—an advanced lithium-ion 6T vehicle battery.

“Revision has been developing these solutions, focusing our efforts to design, engineer, test and certify them with the ultimate goal of reducing sound, weight, and thermal signature while boosting lifespan,” said Revision CEO Jonathan Blanshay. “These innovative vehicle power solutions are built in response to those actively seeking more reliable energy performance, longer runtimes, and superior signature concealment. In developing these energy solutions, and working with leading OEMs, we’ve put some of today’s highest-priority power shortfalls in the crosshairs.”

Revision’s Silent Watch Battery Pack (SWBP) is a modular lithium-ion power platform composed of up to 10 independent 28V, 160Ah modules (SWatPacks), plus a power manager (SMS). Revision can develop customized enclosures to house more or fewer SWatPacks, as needed, as well as to accommodate different attachment methods. Individual SWatPacks are made from seven high-end lithium polymer cells (rather than hundreds of smaller cells, typical of most current systems); fewer connection points means less potential for failure, thus greater reliability and lower lifetime maintenance costs.

Each SWatPack can last up to 6,500 cycles (approximately 10 years), and multiple redundant safety measures have been incorporated. SWBP systems and individual SWatPack cells are available now for global forces.

Revision’s lithium-ion 6T (SWitchPack) engine starter battery—designed to be MIL-PRF-32565 compliant—mounts in vehicle crew compartments. In accordance with U.S. military standards, the SWitchPack battery is designed to meet Type 1 safety standards, but to provide near-Type 3 capacity. SWitchPacks are made from 14 high-end lithium polymer cells, similarly reducing connection points and boosting reliability. Revision has conducted comprehensive preliminary testing and validation of the li-ion 6T SwitchPack, and is currently engaged in Qualified Products List (QPL) qualification. SWitchPack batteries are expected to be in production and available by mid-2019.

Across all these products, one of the chief features is signature concealment, reducing thermal and heat signatures when idle for sustained covert ground operations. This emphasis on stealth and remote operability offers a scaled-up take on Revision’s dismounted power management solutions. Combined with the Nerv Centr SharePack™ and SoloPack™ batteries, the unveiling of these platform power solutions marks Revision’s arrival as a key power provider for both mounted and dismounted warfighters.

AUSA 2018: The Israeli Pavilion Presents Innovative, Proven, Portable Solutions for Rapid Force Deployment and Protection

Thursday, October 4th, 2018

Thirteen companies will exhibit at the pavilion – with solutions focusing on tactical force protection, explosive detection systems, firearm applications, motion systems for air, sea and land applications, and more

AUSA, October 8-10, Washington, D.C., Israel Pavilion, Hall B, Stand 2738

3 October, 2018, SIBAT – the International Defense Cooperation Directorate within Israel’s Ministry of Defense (IMOD) and organizer of Israel’s National Pavilion – continues to strengthen cooperation between Israel’s defense industry and the United States through collaboration with small- and medium-sized defense companies (SMEs) that provide unique, flexible, rapidly developed and deployed solutions.

Today, military and security forces around the world need solutions for the rapid deployment of forces in the field and their protection. The Israeli defense industries have developed unique solutions to address these needs. Among the innovations presented at the pavilion are Ortech’s Y-Fort Bunkers and Shielded Walls, designed to protect soldiers gathered in briefing areas, that can be assembled manually in a matter of a few hours by as few as three soldiers and a small tractor if needed – and a unique barrier developed by Mifram against ramming attacks by heavy vehicles that is easy-to-install without the need for special infrastructure. Joining them are solutions to enhance force protection and survivability, including MS-Tech’s portable explosives detection systems, Safe Shoot’s two-sided fire prevention system using RF communication technology, Reshet’s Graf’s IFF (Identify Friend or Foe ) solutions  for personal and vehicles, made from a passive infrared reflective material, that can only be identified by night vision devices, and Magam’s self-sealing fuel tank protecting against the impact of bullets up to 20mm, increasing the survivability of vehicle and crew.

According to SIBAT’s Director, Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Mishel Ben Baruch, “Threats of terrorism around the world, and the changing nature of conflicts, require solutions that are portable, flexible and fast. Israel’s small and medium defense companies, belonging to the SME sector, are able to provide rapid and flexible development and production to meet these needs.

“SIBAT, the Defense Cooperation Directorate of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, continues to operate at the federal level as well as with the various states in order to create fruitful cooperation with Israel’s defense industry.

“The Israeli companies exhibiting at Israel’s National Pavilion bring with them advanced technologies that have already been proven operationally”
