MSR has introduced the Snow/Sand Stakes in two sizes, along with a hammer. The tent’s guylines are attached to the notch on the wide, spade-like portion of the stake, allowing it to stay fast in loose mediums like snow and sand.

The Escape Pod 1P Bivy is a two-thirds length bivy with drawstring closure providing bug protection which incorporates NEMO’s AST airbeam, an inflatable rib. Constructed primarily of noseeum netting, it weighs 7 ounces and is 24 inches tall which allows it to be packed into roughly the size of a Florida grapefruit.
The Escape Pro bivvy features Sympatex Reflexion performance fabric that reflects over 90 percent of your body heat, is windproof and waterproof, and provides a dry sleep with a 2.5 ply Sympatex laminate that is highly breathable. Expect it to take you down to about 40 deg F on its own. The Escape Pro bivvy includes a 24” (61cm) zipper side opening, a drawstring closure hood to cinch up on colder nights and taped seams to keep moisture out. It measures 31”x 84” (231cm x 78cm) and weighs 8.5 ounces (240g). It will be available to ship February 2017.

If there was an industry trend at this Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, it was these inflatable loungers. They were everywhere. Referred to by a number of names including inflatable hammocks, it’s no wonder that Eagle Nest Outfitter would offer the snazziest model. This is the Billow Air Lounge.
Made from a low porosity material, you inflate the Billow via a baffie system and then use the roll top closure to trap the air. Eventually, it’s going to lose air so for long-term use, you’ll find yourself refilling it every few hours.

Hammocks are all the rage but these days you’re either getting a lightweight fabric hammock that swallows you as soon as you get in or a large net hammock that you’d find in grandma’s backyard. NEMO set about to make something in between.
