CRKT Unveils New Provoke X, a First-of-its-Kind Morphing Tactical Axe

Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), a brand synonymous with innovation, craftsmanship, and intelligent design, today unveiled the new Provoke® X, a first-of-its-kind morphing tactical axe that fits in your pocket. A powerful, portable, self-defense tool, the Provoke® X builds off the success of the original Provoke® morphing karambit knife, bringing the pioneering Kinematic® technology into a new product category.

The Provoke® X deploys with a satisfying flick of the wrist, ready to swing into action at a moment’s notice. The blade and spike are secured open with CRKT®’s industry-leading Deadbolt® lock, and slide into recessed positions on the handle when closed. Closing the axe automatically sets the safety, which is easily released from either side of the handle.

Corrosion-resistant, titanium nitride-coated D2 steel ensures the Provoke® X can take a beating. Friction grooves on the handle and a retention ring at the bottom of the handle provide secure grip, and easy reference to pull out of the pocket. while an adjustable pocket clip allows for easy concealment and left or right hand carry.

Zev Technologies Announces New Product Releases at SHOT Show 2025

January 20, 2025 — West Valley City, UT — Zev Technologies is excited to announce several upcoming product releases at SHOT Show 2025. This includes the Folding Defensive Platform (FDP), the OZ9sc, Acro Optic Duty Slides, Compact Combat Hypercomp Slide Kits, and more sizes of Glock slides and barrels. Each of these products will add something unique to the firearms industry and are anticipated to hit the shelves in 2025/early 2026. Attendees can stop by booth #20463 to view these new products and several other upcoming releases.

The FDP includes two of the most anticipated products that Zev will be releasing this year. It is a project they have been working on with Magpul and are excited to make available to the public toward the end of first quarter. The FDP will originally be launched as a short-barreled rifle with a pistol variant to follow. The FDP provides unmatched versatility with its folding design, making it easy to store and deploy in critical situations.

“The FDP is unlike anything else on the market,” said Zev Tech Marketing Manager, Ben McClelland. “Its groundbreaking folding design makes it extremely compact and portable without sacrificing firepower. It’s also lightweight, durable, and includes an integrated accessory mount, adjustable sights and ambidextrous controls.”

The OZ9sc is Zev’s rendition of a subcompact pistol, capitalizing on the popularity of the Glock 43 and Glock 48. It’s a smaller version of the OZ9, but includes all of the same impressive features.

The Acro Optic Duty Slides will be offered for the following fitments: G-19, Gen 1-3 & Gen 5, and G-17, Gen 1-3 & Gen 5. The Compact Combat Hypercomp Slide Kits will give shooters who don’t own a Zev Tech Hypercomp pistol the opportunity to run the top end on their Gen 3 Glock 19. The kit will include the slide, barrel, recoil assembly, front and rear sights and upper parts kit.

“We’ll also be adding G43 and G48 sized slides and barrels to our line of Glock compatible components,” said McClelland. “This is a direct result of customer and dealer requests and we are excited to offer it!”

Additionally, Zev Technologies plans to revamp their rifle lineup by adding more caliber and barrel-length options. They plan to shift all rifle models to the legacy MML hand guard/upper mounting system. The current wedge-lock system will still be supported with handguards and compatible forged upper receivers.

IC MKII Model Makes Its Debut at SHOT Show, Industry Day at the Range

Cambridge, Maryland (January 13, 2025) – LWRCI announces the next evolution of their renowned Individual carbine family with the introduction of the IC-MKI.

Featured updates to the product line include the updated design of the upper receiver and the adoption of the M-LOK® mounting system for the handguard. The two position, adjustable gas block was updated to a paddle style and is now located inside the rail, easily accessed to select suppressed or unsuppressed. Directly descended from rifles developed by LWRCI™, the IC-MKII delivers the same defining features and quality manufacturing, customers rely on from LWRCI™.

“Building on the popularity and widespread adoption of the M-LOK® mounting system, we wanted to bring this innovation to our customers. To accommodate the handguard over our piston system, we completely redesigned the upper receiver to provide the necessary space for the operating system. Our goal was to ensure strength and reliability—qualities our customers have come to expect from LWRCI™. We are confident the ICMKII will deliver on those expectations.” said David Ridley, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The LWRCI™ proprietary Short-stroke Gas Piston operating system delivers unmatched reliability in extreme conditions and is easy to maintain. The MKII features include a monoforge, one-piece upper receiver The ICMKII is still manufactured with industry leading fully ambidextrous operating controls including the bolt catch, bolt release, magazine release and safety selector, as well as the charging handle. All controls can easily be accessed and utilized on either side of the entire IC line. The ICMKII retains the LWRCI™ signature cold hammer forged spiral fluted barrel, nickel boron coated bolt carrier, LWRCI™ Skirmish™ BUIS, and LWRCI™ compact stock and pistol grip.
