Seeing Is Believing by Trident Concepts

Friday, October 4th, 2013

As we get older many of us (me included) go through changes in our vision that require us to adapt our shooting. Still others face vision challenges right out of gate. Jeff Gonzalez of Trident Concepts discusses a few of these issues in a recent blog post entitled “Seeing Is Believing”.

Regarding shooting, one thing we can all agree on is you need to have decent vision.

Most of us as we get older will need to do something to correct our vision, whether through surgical procedures, contacts or glasses. It is a fact of life, you cannot expect to have perfect vision forever, but correctable to 20/20 should be a goal. If corrected with contacts or glasses then you are going to have to wear them when shooting, I know seems obvious.

Redback One Individual Protection Drill

Friday, September 27th, 2013

The Redback One Individual Protection Drill (IPD) was designed by Jason quite some time go.

The IPD was designed to provide inherent protection to a singleton operating alone or when operating as a member of a tactical team. Also, according to RB1, the “IPD provides organic protection to the operator in order for the operator to determine the type of stoppage on the carbine and select the best course of action.”

MDM – Rite in the Rain

Rite in the Rain’s waterproof M4 /M16 zero target has been around for quite some time. One side features the 25m M4 zero target and the other side is for the M16A2/A4. The waterproof properties aren’t just great for those rainy days on the range. It also means that the targets won’t dry out in hot environments and disintegrate once you start shooting them.

What’s more, they have an NSN, 7530-01-544-9471.

MDM – Warrior Trail

The owner of Warrior Trail literally accosted me in the aisle at Modern Day Marine and I’m glad he did because he has built a company around providing quality training armor. And Warrior Trail doesn’t just stop at hard plates, they’ve also developed soft armor inserts that replicate weight, bulk and pliability of the real thing.

At 1/10th the cost of real armor, you can outfit an entire team with training plates and soft armor inserts for use during hand to hand, obstacle course and other situational training scenarios that might damage ceramic plates. Additionally, you can get the soft inserts wet without worrying about the integrity of your armor and they can be washed if needed.

Not stopping there, they also showed me a BALCS armor carrier. Some organizations will want to use the training armor in their issue carrier but others such as training schools, may want to configure a training vest. It accepts BALCS cut armor, features MOLLE webbing so that you can set it up just like your working vest and can be worn with a cummerbund that accepts side plates or a strap. Offered in Tan, Black and MultiCam.

Steve Reichert And Dakota Meyer – Riflemans Course

Awhile back we told you that Craig Sawyer and Steve Reichert were going to provide training together. Now, Steve is working with Medal Of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer. The course is being held at a facility in Maysville that is well laid out. It’s very nice and only about 25 minutes from Jacksonville, NC.

Are you tired of attending Tac-T-Cool carbine courses where you dump inordinate amounts of rounds into a piece of paper at stone throwing distances? Have you ever wanted to actually employ the principals of rifle marksmanship to accurately put rounds on a target hundreds of yards away? If you’re one of the many great Americans out there who have the will and desire to become the best at everything you do then this course is for you. During the SRT Rifleman’s course you will acquire the rifle marksmanship principals that will allow you to accurately and effectively engage multiple targets from 50-500 yards and beyond. You will find yourself being constantly pushed by our staff to make every shot count, and make every shot a learning experience! Remember, there is no such thing as “advanced” shooters… just shooters who can apply the basic marksmanship principals quickly and effectively. That being said if you never really master the marksmanship principals in the first place how can you expect tp effectively employ them under stress when lives are on the line?

The course is being held Maysville, NC, November 2nd – 3rd, 2013.
