You Never Know Where They’ll Show Up
June 10th, 2015C2R Fast – Multifunction Kit
June 9th, 2015British kit producer C2R Fast was tasked with a customer to provide to provide several capabilities. In particular, they wanted a set of three things – lightweight shelter, thermal blanket and an air marker panel. After some deliberation, C2R Fast decided to combine all three into one product.
Lightweight ripstop Multicam on the outer and ripstop nylon on the reverse with a thermal layer in between, this is able to fold up nice and small but can be used as a marker panel, is long enough to become a lightweight survival sleeping bag, and with tabs and loops in the right places, as a lightweight shelter.
Once you get your hands on a multifunction item like this, its use is only limited by the imagination.

Officially Licensed MultiCam Products Coming Out Of Brazil
June 9th, 2015
UPDATE: Apparently, these items are made with genuine fabric but not under official license. For example, some of the design features infringe on Crye Precision patents such as the kneepad interface.
FORHONOR is a Brazil-based tactical clothing company that has produced a line of combat uniforms, with patterns including MultiCam, MultiCam Black, and MultiCam Tropic, and are manufactured using US materials.
The combat shirt features a mandarin-style collar with a 1/4 zip. The sleeves are made from 50/50 NyCo ripstop, including bicep pockets and Velcro loop fields for ID and morale patches; the wrists also feature Velcro straps. The torso is composed of FAVO (Honeycomb) 528 fabric developed exclusively for FORHONOR, which facilitates moisture absorption and quick evaporation. This material also offers UVA and UVB protection, as well as being anti-odor and anti-bacterial.

FORHONOR’s Tactical Operational Pant is made of 50/50 NyCo Ripstop fabric. It features 6 pockets: two front pockets, two hindquarters pockets, and two thigh side bellowing pockets. The knees are double reinforced, and accommodate removable kneepads. The waist features 5 belt loops with a 5cm opening, facilitating the use of a tactical belt.

Airstep Army, possibly under the same parent company as FORHONOR, has also produced a MultiCam Combat Boot. The boot features a MultiCam leather and 1000D cordura nylon upper, with a nylon aerated system lining, which enables internal cooling. The camouflaged sole is made of anti-slip rubber, with traction grip at the front and rear and a structure of ribs that prevent aquaplaning.

Vets Corps and SOTech support the VA
June 9th, 2015We received this great note from our friends at SOTech. They continue to do great things with the Veterans community in SoCal.
Normally we are announcing new product designs, but today we are honored that we were able to apply our skills to support the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Hospital. Secretary Robert McDonald came out to ceremonially reopen the gates of the campus signalling a new day for the campus. A lot of momentous changes have been instituted by the VA and they are returning it to being a “Home for Veterans” rather than just a hospital. The VA asked Vets Corps to make copies of the original 1888 bronze plaques that read “National Soldiers Home”. Vets Corps volunteered SOTech employee Clark Acton who spent years in the film industry making rubber dummy guns to create the casts. At SOTech, Clark pours molds to make resin forms of radios, trauma plates, optics and weapons for pouches from originals that customers supply. This time Clark, a veteran himself, got to make a symbol that will welcome Veterans in Los Angeles to their Soldiers Home for decades to come.
