The Cerakote finish is the second new color option Daniel Defense has launched this calendar year. Mil Spec +, a flat dark earth variation, was first unveiled at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January. “When you look for a new car, you have substantially more color options than just black,” noted Jordan Hunter, Daniel Defense Director of Marketing. “Customers want choices other than the mil-spec Type III hard coat anodizing, or matte black, and the Daniel Defense Tornado™, we believe, will be well received by our customers.”

Warrior Expo – All In, All The Time Foundation

April 24th, 2014

There are seven non-profit organizations at Warrior West. All of them are great but my heart remains with All In, All The Time Foundation from my local area, the Virginia Tidewater. Created in honor of Tommy V, a fallen SEAL, this 501(c)3 raises funds for an interesting niche. Lots of organizations do a great job helping out for immediate needs and for supporting the education of family members. AIITT helps fill the gaps for those needs of families that aren’t covered under other programs. They work on a case-by-case basis to tailor their support. They also facilitate support between multiple organizations helping families find the correct programs.

One of the ways they raise funds is to sell some really cool items including these t-shirts and branded Patagonia laptop bags.

Warrior West – Klim Tactical

April 23rd, 2014

You may be familiar with Klim (pronounced climb), manufacturers of motorcycle wear. What you may not know is that they just launched a tactical line of clothing designed specifically for military motorcycle riders.

20140423-121537.jpg

One of the Polaris family of companies, they have introduced an anorak style jacket and trouser. Manufactured from An FR Gore-tex fabric, all of the pulls and findings are also FR. It also integrates Super Fabric in high wear areas.

20140423-121917.jpg

This thing is packed with features. For instance, it features full pit zips along with a full frontal opening zipper as well as a front zip for ventilation. It’s sized to fit over all of your kit and there added a flap on the front that can be opened so that you can access chest mounted magazines.

20140423-122359.jpg

Sleeve pockets are inset on the upper arm and a windowed forearm pocket can be used for maps and GRGs. The lower sleeves can also be removed via zipper.

20140423-122554.jpg

20140423-122636.jpg

The back has a feature I’ve never seen. Since it’s worn over equipment the rear has an expandable flap that will accommodate back mounted gear on a vest.
