The Xero L60i difference

The Xero L60i is the first and only laser rangefinder with onboard map-based GPS navigational capabilities and a high resolution, multi-color display overlaid into superior optics. This enables features such as:

Digital Mapping: View current and ranged locations marked on topographic mapping and use the Xero L60i to navigate to them.

Smart Integration: Waypoints can be shared to the Garmin Explore™ App on a compatible smartphone, then shared to a compatible Garmin handheld or wearable device using the Garmin Share functionality.

Laser Locate™: Leverage the range taken, along with compass heading and GPS coordinates, to project a waypoint on the display, then navigate to the waypoint through directional cues.

Sensor Locate: When the desired object is too far to range, built-in GPS, compass, inclinometer and mapping can calculate and project a waypoint of the intended target, allowing estimated ranges to targets several miles away.

Visual Recall: When moving to a new vantage point after ranging, use on-screen cues to steer your visual field back to a previously marked waypoint.

Superior optics

Purpose-built to give users the highest quality optical experience, Xero L60i features fully multicoated, low-dispersion glass, which provides razor-sharp optics with a flat field of view, accurate color fidelity and superior light transmission. The 32mm objective lens was intentionally chosen to provide a generous exit pupil, low-light performance, and superior field of view. During dawn or dusk use, an ambient light sensor automatically controls display brightness, ensuring the visual scene remains clear.

Precise long-distance ranging

Range animals to 2,775 meters and trees to 3,600. In optimal low-light conditions, the Xero L60i makes it possible to reach as far as 7,000 meters to retro reflective objects while achieving accuracy of +/- .25 meters under 1,000 meters and +/- 1 meter out to maximum laser-ranged distances.

Onboard ballistics

Get access to the onboard Applied Ballistics Ultralight™solvervia the AB Quantum app for all the data needed to make the perfect shot. Thanks to the GPS positioning, temperature, compass, and barometric sensors, the Xero L60i delivers an accurate ballistic solution for short- and long-range shooting, including the effect of Coriolis on the point of impact. Change profiles, setup target cards, and more, all with a few button taps. Archers will appreciate the all-new arrow ballistics solver, which provides details on angle compensated range, max arrow height, and the arrow entry angle at the target.

The Xero L60i is built to withstand the harsh outdoor conditions with an IPX7 water-resistance rating and runs on two AAA lithium batteries. See it on display at the Garmin booth, #10119, during SHOT Show 2026. It’s available now for $2,499.99.

SIG Teams with IAI for the Firestorm Armed Quadcopter

January 20th, 2026

We first mentioned the Firestorm UAS during AUSA but leaned more about this armed quadcopter during the SIG Defense Range Day. With an APUS 60 airframe from Israeli Aerospace Industries combined with a lightweight remote weapon station and M250 machine gun and 200 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition from SIG SAUER, the system offers persistent, dedicated close air support. Essentially, it is an airborne machine gun.

Thanks to its multi-fuel internal combustion engine, boasting on station time of three hours, a unit equipped with several Firestorms could stagger sorties in order to offer 24-hour coverage. Unlike battery powered drones with short flight times and long recharge times leads to severe gaps in operations.

Another factor for the duration is that the engine runs as a fixed RPM and speed and station keeping is achieved through changing the blade pitch. This allows the Firestorm to take off and land in up to 23 knot winds and fly in winds up to 40 knots. The use of altered blade pitch reacts 10x faster than traditional engine RPM changes. This offers another advantage. The engine doesn’t change pitch as the UAS reacts to control input making it less likely to be detected by sound.

What’s more, in spite of its long hover time, the Firestorm retains ample power for the onboard weapon station. The max takeoff weight is 72kg with a payload weight of 35kg.

The Micolight remote weapon station is based on the General Robotics Bulldog but is more compact and smaller weighing just under 10kg. It is optimized for use with the SIG Medium Machine Gun chambered in 7.62mm NATO. The weapon station can see out your 25km, incorporating an electro optical sensor with 10x zoom and the Infrared sensor offers 5x zoom. Additionally, there is a laser range finder and the software includes automatic target recognition and tracking functions.

An interesting feature is that the training burden is lower than with other larger drones and utilizes a unified control system for both remote weapon station and flight. In fact, when the weapon is engaged, the Firestorm assumes a hover but can quickly transition into a move and scoot mode by the operator to balance survivability and target engagement. While engagement has only been tested so far in hover, the development team is working on the ability to engage while moving.

The system is easily transportable with foldable arms which are quickly placed into action and has undergone testing with foreign customers.

We will provide more information on this system as we receive it.

AIMPOINT Broadens COA and A-CUT Adoption Across Leading Pistol Brands

January 20th, 2026

Las Vegas, NV, January 20, 2026 During the NSSF SHOT Show, Aimpoint announces a significant expansion of its COA® pistol red dot sight through a growing network of OEM partners. The COA optic is offered as a factory-installed package, with pistols shipping directly from manufacturers equipped with the optic via Aimpoint’s integrated A-CUT® interface.

This expansion represents a major step forward in Aimpoint’s strategy to redefine the standard for pistol-mounted optics. By offering a direct-mount solution engineered specifically for duty-grade performance, the A-CUT system delivers enhanced durability, consistency, and performance for professional and civilian end users alike.

Aimpoint has licensed the use of the A-CUT with major firearm and accessory manufacturers, including many of the most prominent handgun manufacturers in the market. Additional factory-installed pistol and COA combinations are planned throughout the year, reinforcing Aimpoint’s objective to establish A-CUT as the industry standard for optic mounting on pistols.

A-CUT is a slide-integrated mounting interface that mechanically locks the optic in place, stabilizing it in all directions and eliminating movement under recoil. This mechanically locked interface removes the shear forces normally placed on screws in traditional optic mounts. By utilizing a front hook and rear locking wedge and enabling a low-profile installation, A-CUT ensures consistent alignment, durability, and co-witness capability.

In addition to factory-installed OEM packages, COA will also be available as a standalone pistol sight. This option is intended for users who wish to install COA on an existing pistol. As COA requires an A-CUT interface, installation is carried out by licensed gunsmiths authorized to mill A-CUT. Aimpoint is rolling out a licensing program for professional gunsmiths, with applications available via Aimpoint’s website.

Key Features of AIMPOINT COA

• 3.5 MOA red dot reflex sight for pistols

• Integrated A-CUT interface

• Battery life: 50,000 hours (over five years)

on one battery

• Weight: 48 grams (1.7 oz), sight only

• Four night vision compatible settings and

eight daylight settings.

• Submersible to 25 meters (80 feet)
