Milipol 2015: New 3D Capability For Camero’s XAVER400 Through-Wall Imaging System

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

The new capability enables differentiation between people and other moving objects; gives clearer understanding of people’s positions behind the wall

Milipol 2015, November 17-20, Paris, France, Hall 5, Aisle D, Stand 123

November 12, 2015 – Camero Tech – a world leader and pioneer in the development and marketing of radar-based through-wall systems – will demonstrate the new 3D capability for its XAVER400 Through-Wall Imaging System at the upcoming Milipol 2015 exhibition. The new capability enables differentiating between people and other moving objects, and gives a clearer understanding of people’s positions through the wall.

According to Camero’s CEO, Amir Beeri, “The addition of the 3D capability to the XAVER400 adds more tools and information for the commander in the field to use in making decisions regarding whether or not to enter a room or a building. Incorrect decisions can be very dangerous, and every additional piece of information in the hands of the commander reduces the chance of casualties.”

The XAVER400 is a compact, lightweight and durable personal device optimized for the speed of tactical urban operations for military, law enforcement, and search and rescue users. It delivers critical real-time information on the number of people and their location behind walls. It also provides information regarding room dimensions and major infrastructure elements.

Mr. Beeri continued, “This is the most popular system of its type, used by dozens of armies and Special Forces units around the world. The system has been used in operations across the globe, and has received high praise for its life-saving capabilities.”

In addition to the XAVER400, Camero will also present the XAVER100 ultra-portable, handheld presence-of-life detector, the XAVER800 portable, high-performance imaging system, and the new version of the XAVER NET, a ruggedized wireless portable command and control communication platform.

Milipol 2015, November 17-20, Paris, France, Hall 5, Aisle D, Stand 123

November 12, 2015 – Meprolight – a leading manufacturer of thermal and night vision equipment, electro-optical systems, Laser Range Finder systems, and Self-Illuminated sights for military, law enforcement and civil applications – presents new night vision and thermal offerings for snipers and sharpshooters at the upcoming Milipol exhibition. The company will display an advanced variation of the MEPRO NOA NYX with higher resolution, and a new generation of the MEPRO HUNTER Sniper’s Night Vision Weapon Sight for maximizing first hit probability.

According to Benny Kokia, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, “We are happy to present our new solutions, developed by our R&D department. Our close relationships and ongoing communication with our customers allow us to very rapidly translate lessons learned in the field into upgrades for our systems – and to quickly bring the most advanced sights to the market. Both the MEPRO NOA NYX and the MEPRO HUNTER were updated in this type of rapid process. We are pleased that our customers recognize our efforts and appreciate the quality of our products – and that special units have already purchased the new sights.”

The latest versions of the MEPRO NOA NYX – Lightweight Uncooled Thermal Weapon Sight will be unveiled at Milipol, supporting 640×480 microbolometer cores (17?). They provide a more advanced image, a wider field-of-vision, and longer ranges, and include color displays and overlays. The thermal MEPRO NOA NYX sight guarantees high-quality observation and precision target engagement – enabling efficient day & night operations in low-light conditions, dust & smoke scenarios, and in complete darkness common in CQB.

The sight is provided in a compact, lightweight and durable enclosure, minimizing weapon load and ensuring convenient and reliable operation at all times. Advanced power saving capabilities based on a motion sensor combined with utilization of four commercially available “AA” batteries significantly reduce the sight’s Life Cycle Costs (LCC).

Included among the modifications are: An improved zeroing mechanism that allows increased accuracy for both short and long distances – enabling ballistic compensation, as well as changing the reticles for better accuracy; Reduced click size enabling greater precision during the zeroing process; Upgraded adapter that enables user to maintain zeroing during installation and removal of the sight.

MSA Gallet ARCH Debuts At Milipol 2013

Wednesday, November 20th, 2013

Last week we told you about MSA Gallet’s new Accessory Rail Combat Helmet or ARCH.

The official designations of this new line of helmets are the Gallet TC 800 series and Gallet TC 500 series (MSA decided to revert to the previous Gallet name for them, in order to avoid confusing their clients with nomenclatures of helmets made in the now defunct US helmet factory).

The rails feature proprietary 360° rotating buckles on the front and lower back (three slots on each rail). Additionally, the removable “V” shaped, ratchet-style shroud clamps under the front brim of the shell, and bolts unto each of the upper portions of the side rails in the back. On top of the actual NVG interface (USGI/wilcox compatible), between the two “V” branches, they’ve added bungee ties that go all the way to the top, in order to secure strobes and other non-railed accessories.

It might seem odd to American readers that they would use a ratchet-style shroud but there are a lot of units, especially in Europe, that still use the Lucie NVG with its claw/strap system. Additionally, this solution means no pre-drilled holes in the helmet.

The other interesting thing about those helmets is that they come in only one shell size, with sizing adjustments made via removable pads. However, MSA will offer two harness sizes, as they have introduced a captive strap design similar to the one introduced by Ops-Core.

Specifically, the helmet models are 800/801/802 (first digit is shell thickness in millimeters, last is cut style), the fourth model released is the 501 (same naming convention applies). The 501 is the thinnest MSA available that still retains a frag rating. The line of ARCH is offered in NATO green, Black, Tan.
