Thunder Beast Arms Corp Announces 338 Ultra SR

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

We are pleased to announce the new 338 ULTRA SR suppressor. This is the first suppressor to feature our “SR” mount. The SR mount is our “QD” style mount that maintains the absolute accuracy and repeatability standards we are known for while offering more rapid mounting and removal and featuring a Secondary Retention (“SR”) or “Locking” collar. This mount meets the mil spec represented in the 2017 Advanced Sniper Rifle (ASR) solicitication, and the 338 ULTRA SR is the suppressor that Accuracy International North America chose for their ASR rifle system submission.

The main feature of the SR mount is that it acts as a secondary, fail-safe, locking mechanism to retain the suppressor on the muzzle brake in all circumstances, unless explicitly removed on purpose, by hand. It also reduces the number of turns required to mount the suppressor due to a coarser thread and enables “Quick Mount” and “Quick Detach” functionality of the mount. The mount is mechanically very simply and user-level maintenance is possible.

HOW OUR MOUNT IS DIFFERENT

The SR mount uses a novel paw and cam-path system to ensure that “full lock up” can happen in either of the two adjacent detent slots for any given final shouldering position of the suppressor on the conical brake shoulder. This categorically avoids the “off by one” problem that many “clicky” mounts have. The SR mount has the exact same accuracy, repeatability, and return-to-zero characteristics that all our precision suppressors are known for.

This mounting system is covered by US Patent 9,791,234.

For more details, please visit the 338 ULTRA SR Product Page.

The 338 ULTRA SR will be offered for sale starting the first morning of the 2019 SHOT Show (Jan 22nd). We will not accept orders, pre-orders, or backorders until then. We have a considerable stock of these available but after that initial stock is depleted, additional orders will be subject to our normal production backlog.

Badger Ordnance Introduces the Condition One Modular Mount

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

Badger Ordnance is proud to announce their new Condition One Modular Mount (C.O.M.M.).

The C1 Modular Mount is Badger Ordnance’s answer to a growing demand for modularity in optical platform mounting. The C1 Modular Mount offers the end user four accessory mounting points on the Unimount body both left, right, fore, and aft to suit a wide range of shooter’s needs. With the ever-expanding options available to shooters in the accessory and electro-optic markets, Badger Ordnance saw the need for a mount that can make the most use of precious real estate on rifle platforms while acting as a centralized hub for attachments and not suffering from deflection seen on optics and lasers attached to handguards.

For 2019 Badger Ordnance has also introduced new mount heights to their lineup. The C1 Modular Mount is available in a 1.93” tall height for shooters who prefer a more heads up shooting position or to allow for clearance of lasers and attachments. The 1.93” tall mount also helps to aid in shooting passively through optics while wearing head borne night vision systems. Badger has also introduced the height of 1.70” which is the common height of lower 1/3rdred dot mounts. With the wide adoption of low power variable optics Badger Ordnance felt the need for a mount height option for shooters who have developed their skills on, and spent tireless hours training with, lower 1/3rdheight red dots. The C1 Modular Mount is also available in NV height compatible options both in flat and 20MOA bias with options available for mounting co-aligned laser range finding systems.

Commercial release for the C1 Modular Mount is set for Q1 2019 with initial offerings in 30mm, 34mm, and 35mm with initial Micro Sight Mounts being offered for the Leupold DPP, Trijicon RMR, and Aimpoint T1/T2. Badger Ordnance will continue to develop the C1 Modular Mount line with attachments such as levels, mounts for digital displays, angle cosign indicators, offset sighting systems and much more. Whether you’re a casual shooter, competitor or those serving their Nation in Law Enforcement or Armed Services, the Badger Ordnance C1 Modular Mount will meet your demands.

Be sure to see Badger Ordnance at SHOT Show at booth #20005.

Relentless Reach: Leupold Announces RBX-3000 TBR/W Rangefinding Binocular

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., has announced the arrival of its game-changing RBX-3000 TBR/W rangefinding binocular.

Leupold’s return to the rangefinding binocular market, the RBX-3000 TBR/W combines excellent glass with incredible ranging distances of 3,000 yards on reflective objects and 2,600 yards on trees and soft targets. Designed for the most relentless hunters and competition shooters, the RBX-3000 TBR/W redefines the rangefinding binocular category.

“Our consumers are incredibly committed to their craft and demand top-of-the-line performance from their optics,” said Tim Lesser, Vice President of Product Development for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The RBX-3000 TBR/W has been developed from the ground up to deliver the ultra-premium performance the Leupold brand is known for. We weren’t going to come to market with a new rangefinding binocular until it was the best, and we’re happy to say it has arrived.”

The RBX-3000 TBR/W features easy-to-read, high-contrast data on a red LED display and dual eyepiece diopter adjustment. An on-board atmospheric sensor will display temperature, air pressure, and humidity. The top-tier optical prescription is reinforced by Leupold’s Twilight Max HD Light Management System. Twilight Max HD – the same light management system associated with the company’s award-winning VX-5HD and VX-6HD riflescopes – allows users to glass longer during the early predawn hours to well past dusk. Twilight Max HD combines exceptional light transmission and glare management to provide vivid images with top-of-the-line optical performance in low-light conditions.

The RBX-3000 TBR/W delivers incredibly accurate ranges with its True Ballistic Range/Wind (TBR/W) technology. TBR takes into account the angle of your shot and your rifle’s ballistics to put you dead on target. Other rangefinders will certainly spit out a number, but they won’t produce an accurate range to your target because they use basic trigonometry to calculate a straight-line horizontal distance. When you’re going long, the angle matters.

“Despite what other brands may tell you, ballistics aren’t simply in the dial,” said Eric Overstreet, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “If you’re going to be hunting or shooting at elevation or in any kind of mountainous terrain, you absolutely need a rangefinder that’s capable of calculating ballistic solutions at angles. The RBX-3000 TBR/W delivers on that in a package that’s been designed for the hunter and shooter that refuses to fail – because it won’t, either.”

Aircraft-grade aluminum housing ensures the RBX-3000 TBR/W lives up to the rugged durability Leupold products are known for. It is 100 percent waterproof and fogproof, and the lens feature Guard-ion coatings that shed dirt and water for crisp, clear images.

The RBX-3000 TBR/W will be available in a 10x42mm configuration with a Shadow Gray finish. It ships with a Leupold binocular harness, binocular strap, lens pen, and lens cloth.

The RBX-3000 TBR/W is scheduled to arrive on shelves beginning in spring 2019.

Introducing True North Concepts, LLC

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

Nathan Murr, CEO, Brings the GripStop Home as the Company’s First Product to Market

Lancaster, PA – January 9, 2019 – Today, the team behind True North Concepts, LLC announced the launch of the True North brand and its first product to market, the True North GripStop. True North was born from the shared vision of its five founders led by Nathan Murr, inventor of the GripStop and CEO. They’ve come together to create smart, innovative tools that prepare men and women for any challenge that comes their way. In addition to the development of its own proprietary innovations, True North offers consulting and design services for companies in the defense, outdoor and firearms industries.

“Reading a compass to locate north is simple. To successfully navigate, however, you need skill, intuition and the right tools,” explained Murr. “We created True North to develop products that provide people with the knowledge, ability, and preparedness to be successful. We won’t allow a product to come to market under the name True North unless it serves a need and helps someone succeed in their pursuit. Whatever their goal, we’re here to help men and women gather the skills and the right tools to successfully navigate their true bearing.”

An immediate focus for True North is the development of tools that better prepare a shooter for whatever lies downrange. The company’s first product to market is none other than the newly re-named True North GripStop. The GripStop was the first of its kind when it entered the market in 2013, combining the needs of a hand stop, barricade stop and vertical grip into one lightweight, ergonomic tool.

Available now, the True North GripStop and GripStop K, two new variations of the classic GripStop made specifically for Magpul MLOK, are in stock and ready to ship. Visit www.TrueNorth-USA.com to learn more.

“My team at True North is designing and manufacturing products we wish we would have had when we were in combat and products we want now as shooters. Our products, however, go well beyond the shooting world,” continued Murr. “Every product we’re developing now or ever will develop in the future will serve as a solution to a problem that hasn’t yet been solved. True North products will always stay true to that purpose.”

The True North online store is now live with several GripStop variations available and more products coming soon. Learn more about True North Concepts LLC now at TrueNorth-USA.com.
