Mystery Ranch Spartan Update

Thursday, September 20th, 2012

Earlier this week we told you that Mystery Ranch had released the long awaited Spartan pack to their line. Several readers called and received confusing info. We want to clear things up. The Spartan is in MR’s latest catalog which should debut at next week’s Modern Day Marine. Additionally, it has been matrixed and is in MR’s system meaning it can be ordered.

They have packs in stock but pre-orders and a positive reaction from Tuesday’s story have wiped that initial run those out. The next run of 20 will hit the production floor early next week and they will start shipping those Monday October 15th. From there, they are looking at a larger production run, probably 40 of each. For now they are offering them in MultiCam and Coyote, but may entertain making them in Black if they get enough interest.

If you want one, contact MR. These are being snatched up as quickly as they are built.

Recently, Navy SEAL Veteran Chris Kyle visited the set of ‘Sons of Guns’ to demonstrate the H&K MR556 and to help specify the customization of one to be auctioned off for his charity FITCO Cares “Heroes Project”.

The H&K MR556 was customized by Red Jacket Firearms with the following-

Surefire Flashlight with remote “momentary-on” pressure tapeswitch $595.00
Tangodown Quick detach vertical foregrip $100.00
Eotech Tan EXPS Holographic Site $450.00
Eotech Flip to side Magnifier $550.00
LDI DBAL Laser sight $1000.00
Magpul CTR Stock $100.00
Magpul Sights $100.00
Guissele SSA trigger $180.00
2 x Magpul 30 round magazines $50.00

The auction runs through September 28th. Go to GunBroker.com to register and make your bid on this one of a kind weapon. You’d better bring your checkbook. It’s already up to $15,000.

This is for charity folks so I expect that level of respect on this one. I really like what FITCO Cares is doing. Check them out at www.fitcocares.org.

DBT Announces End Of Year (EOY) Program

Thursday, September 20th, 2012

Diamondback Tactical has announced the details of its End of the Year (EOY) purchase program to enhance the government customer’s purchasing experience during the fiscal year end month of September. The program, which began September 1, 2012 will continue through September 30, 2012. Customers will have three vehicles for using EOY monies to make purchases: the online store, direct email and a dedicated team of EOY specialists for over-the-phone purchases.

“We definitely understand the needs of all of our government customers during this time,” says Mike Jewell, Director of DoD Programs for Diamondback Tactical. “We hope the implementation of these three programs will make it easy for our customers to identify a purchase outlet that best fits their schedule and needs.”

During the EOY program, government customers will be able to purchase overstocked inventory products through the online store at a 15% discount by using an exclusive discount code. This discount code can be retrieved by contacting the EOY Program Director, Mike Jewell at mjewell@diamondbacktactical.com. Purchases made through the website are processed immediately. For customers who want to plan out their purchases and don’t have the time to speak with a customer service representative, an email account has been established for immediate correspondence with an EOY specialist. Customers may email their quote or purchase requests to EOY@diamondbacktactical.com for immediate attention. Finally, customers that prefer the comfort of speaking to an EOY specialist can call 800-882-7667, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

With September 30th being the fiscal year end, Diamondback Tactical will also extend its hours on September 28th through September 30th for 24 hour service. Customers can call 24 hours during these days to make any last minute purchases directly through the factory. Continue to check diamondbacktactical.com for more information and details for contacting an EOY specialist during this time.

Maneuver Conference – Mystery Ranch

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Mystery Ranch gave me a peak behind the curtain and what did I see? A carrier for 3 rounds for the “Goose”. This carrier is designed to work with the MR 3-Day Overload that we profiled earlier in the week and accommodates the Carl Gustav’s 84mm rounds in their shipping tubes.

Maneuver Conference – Cold Fire

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Cold Fire gave us an impromptu demo of their spray. The torch is burning at around 1900 degrees. Cold Fire puts fires out and cools 21 times faster than water. It is used by breachers to cool the breach point and by rescue personnel to cool crash sites in order to get to the injured.
