Guy Cramer Answer The Question “Why US4CES?”

Wednesday, June 12th, 2013

In Part 4 of his ongoing look at modern camouflage and specifically how it all fits into the US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort, Guy Cramer explains why his pattern (in concert with ADS Inc), US4CES is the answer.

One thing I was fascinated with was the bit on US4CES-Alpha and Delta. I had forgotten all about the Delta variant and that it had featured colors that flowed from one into the other. Conventional wisdom seemed to favor that method, but it didn’t perform as well as the hard lines.

There’s a lot of science in this article but Guy does a good job of breaking it down for you. Additionally, he offers lots of comparison photos. Even if you aren’t a fan of US4CES, this is a MUST read!

Kill Cliff Executing Aggressive Distribution Push

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

I thought this was pretty cool. I didn’t realize that InBev was distributing the drink. Don’t forget that Kill Cliff is represented in the Tactical Market by our friends at Über Group and is on sale at the GSS Gear and Grey Group Training showrooms. I’m a fan of Kill Cliff.

Kill Cliff

With Day Two of GNC’s Franchise Show underway today, the Kill Cliff team has descended upon the Expo Aria Resort & Casino to hook hundreds of GNC franchise store owners on “The Tasty.” Initially available in a select number of GNC’s last August, Kill Cliff is now available at all domestic corporate GNC locations and at a growing number of GNC franchise locations, totaling almost 6,000 stores. Additionally, the performance product has increased its regional availability in the Southeast through the Anheuser-Busch InBev wholesaler system.

“With a strong brand following – literally and figuratively – we want to make sure our customers can get Kill Cliff anywhere, anytime,” Kill Cliff Founder Todd Ehrlich said. “Listen, you can’t stop the spread of Awesome. If Kill Cliff isn’t there today, it will be. It will sneak in, in the middle of the night, and show up on a shelf. We have store owners all over the country ordering the product where distribution is not yet in place, but consumer demand is pent up.”

Targeting independent, chain convenience and grocery stores in Georgia, Kill Cliff has tapped Atlanta Beverage Company, Eagle Rock, Eagle Rock North, Leon Farmer & Company, and Bibb Distributing Company Distributing companies. In Alabama and in Tennessee, Kill Cliff has partnered with Greene Beverage Company in Tuscaloosa and Ajax Turner in Nashville, with several other contracts in the works. These partnerships ensure increased availability of Kill Cliff at leading grocery and convenience chains including QuikTrip, RaceTrac, Tigermarket, Kroger and Publix among other retailers.

In conjunction with increased distribution, Kill Cliff is driving brand awareness through national and local advertising. At the same time, the company is running promotional programs on the product at retail and through a steady stream of social media initiatives aimed at their online following reaching over one million consumers per week. This momentum is expected to continue in the weeks to come as Kill Cliff’s summer sampling program culminates at the Crossfit Games in July where the company has a secret drop planned.

You may remember these poly-Lycra mix Tshirts in Heather Grey from SHOT Show. Now, they are available in Coyote (OD and Sand on the way).

This shirt is brand new and uses a new modacrylic FR fabric. What’s really interesting about this shirt, available in short and long sleeve, is that it features a semi athletic cut, with a slight taper at the waist.

Darley Defense Days – T3 Gear

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

The Geronimo II Maritime or G2M was designed for use by a member of the Special Boat Teams who needed the ability to incorporate positive flotation as well as a system to cut away plates.

The carrier itself is very robust and can be used to drag/pull the wearer. It is a traditional center flap design with integral magazine pouch for 3 x 30 rd mags.

In addition to a cummerbund that accepts both hard and soft armor, the G2M is available with a simple waist strap. Additionally, the cummerbund offers an integrated radio pocket and will accept kangaroo pouch for an additional 3 x 30 round mags for a total of 9 on the rig.

Darley Defense Days – Line of Fire

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

I’ve been writing about Line of Fire and their TEGS system for several years. The one I want to mention today is the new Wookie which is an FR winter glove.

20130611-133316.jpg

The Wookie is part what will eventually be a three part system and is intended for cold weather use.

Every glove comes with a 36″ roll of TEGS tape so you can modify your gear. Additionally, LoF offers TEGS squares. LoF offers touchscreen compatibility as an option on any glove with digital goatskin palm.

There are lots of new things coming from LoF so stay tuned.

Check out the eyes on that Punisher engraved into the PlateFrmae.

They also displayed a cool FAST helmet cover by Platatac that has built-in spots for the V-lite and Manta Strobe.

Darley Defense Days – Tactical Tailor

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

This is Tactical Tailor’s Improved 152 Pouch which was designed at the request of a SOF customer.

20130611-130626.jpg

It features elastic long the sides so that you can run the radio with side plates attached.

20130611-130756.jpg

Additionally, as you can see, nothing covers or goes over the knobs. There is also an elastic cinch with SR buckle that helps eliminate the “152 wiggle”.

It also incorporates the new backer.
