New Mobile App From Panteao Productions

Columbia, SC, October 15, 2013 – Panteao is excited to announce the launch of a new mobile app providing subscribers with the full content of our streaming videos on their iPad. You can download the Panteao app from the Apple App Store for free.

Non-subscribers can watch the Panteao video trailers and pro-tips via the app. If you have a monthly or yearly subscription on the Panteao website, you will have access to all of the full length videos available on the Panteao website. Simply login with your website credentials to the mobile app.

The initial version of the mobile app is for the iPad. The next release will also cover the iPhone, followed shortly thereafter by a version for Android devices.

Canadian Military – Land Operations Temperate Boot

Latest and Greatest from the Canadian Army’s quest to find a boot that doesn’t fall apart and tear up Soldier’s feet.

Kodiak Group Holdings of Cambridge ON were awarded 2 contracts, and L.P. Royer Inc. were awarded one contract to develop what is called the ‘Land Operations Temperate Boot’ which is intended to replace the in-service combat boots used by the Canadian Army; Mk III Combat Boot, General Purpose Boot, and Temperate Combat Boot.

Apparently, as part of the development process an initial appearance survey was conducted; The boots had to look aesthetically pleasing to the soldier. One boot has the Canadian Armed Forces emblem embroidered on its tongue, the other has rubber mesh panels covering CADPAT AR fabric uppers.

Currently, the 3 boots are undergoing user trials for fit, function, and durability. If each boot scores a +60% acceptance rate during user trials, it will likely be procured, with the aim that all 3 boots be available through the supply system. The idea is to have a family of boots available to the service member, which they can choose which specific model they want issued according to personal preference.

Skallywag Tactical – Tactical Dagger And Skallywag Razor

Skallywag Razor

The Skallywag Razor is CNC machined from a billet of CPM s35vn steel. Each Razor is hand ground, hardened, tempered, Cerakoted, laser etched, and hand sharpened in house. 3D machined G-10 scales make up the handle. It comes with a Boltaron sheath from Survival Sheath Systems or a Nylon sheath with snap retention and PALS webbing from HSGI.

Skallywag Tactical Dagger

The Skallywag Tactical Dagger is CNC machined from a billet of 440c stainless steel. Each dagger is hand ground, hardened, tempered, Cerakoted, laser etched, and hand sharpened in house. It comes with a Boltaron sheath from Survival Sheath Systems or a Nylon sheath with snap retention and PALS webbing from HSGI.

Kopis Mobile – Networked Tactical Television

I first saw the Networked Tactical Television (NTtv) system from Kopis Mobile at the ADS Warrior Expo East in July and it blew me away. NTtv is a completely COTS systems that turns your smart phone into a controller for the action cameras so many troops are mounting on their helmets and equipment. It is completely agonistic to the type of video camera or smart phone operating system (e.g. Blackberry, iOS, Android). Not only is it adaptable, it’s also scalable. The NTtv boxes set up their own WiFi mesh network or can connect to tactical 4G LTE networks and tactical wave relay radios. Kopis Mobile can put together a system to your specs and integrate their technology into gear you already have on hand. It’s amazing.

Here’s the standard description of the system:

Operators noticed that many action cameras (e.g. GoPro or Contour) were being carried downrange, and the rapid adoption of smartphones meant that video screens were available as well. The NTtv system links these two sets of COTS products – or any standard camera and smart device – to allow squad members to easily share video among themselves. With a small, inexpensive, rugged camera and convenient smartphone on hand, the addition of a lightweight NTtv box ties all of the squad together via an industry standard RTSP stream. A specialized NTtv app lets squad members easily flip through the ‘channels’. The minimal system footprint enables multiple uses of the same kit, so that a squad can migrate the camera from dismounted, to mobile, to fixed site surveillance while keeping every member abreast of the overall situational awareness.

Juggernaut Defense – Juggernaut Case For iPhone 5 On Kickstarter

The Juggernaut Case is a military grade rugged wearable case and mount for mobile devices designed to allow users to bring their smartphones to the field to enhance communication capabilities. The case itself is waterproof, dustproof, and shock and drop proof. It features hardened anti-glare glass screen protection, and offers quick phone insertion and removal. Available mounts for the Juggernaut Case will include sternum-strap and MOLLE/PALS chest straps, a forearm mount, and a back pack mount that attaches to any backpack shoulder strap in a vertical position. Juggernaut Cases are currently available for a variety of Motorola and Samsung mobile devices, although Juggernaut Defense is looking to expand the Juggernaut Case line to the iPhone 5 by securing funding through Kickstarter.

SORD USA – Field Pant In Kryptek

SORD’s Field Pant is now available in Kryptek Highlander and Mandrake. Like the MultiCam and A-TACS variants, the Kryptek Field Pants are made from NyCo ripstop; the Tan model is made from 100% cotton. The Field Pant features a 10 pocket design: slanted hip pockets, deep cargo and rear pockets for magazines, a smart phone-sized accessories pocket, and calf pockets with ample space for additional storage. Included are oversized pocket buttons which are easily opened with gloves. The pant utilizes Velcro closure for a smooth comfortable wear, and 4″ belt loops provide ample space for a variety of belt options. The knees and seat of the pant are reinforced for long term durability. SORD has also replaced the original “Small-XL” generic sizing chart with actual width and inseam measurements.
