MDM – PROOF Research

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013

We first met PROOF Research at SHOT Show and I’m impressed with the lower weight and improved performance exhibited by their Carbon Fiber wrapped barrels.

At Modern Day Marine they have this .50 BMG Reduced Weight Sniper System. In addition to the PROOF Research barrel with AAC brake, it incorporates a McMillan Action, Steiner 5-25×56 optic and Cadex Chassis. They’ve been able to shave about 55% on barrel weight bringing the total weight down 25.3% (37 lbs to 27 lbs 10 oz).

Raine Inc has introduced a combination Single Mag Pouch and Dump Pouch which places the dump pouch right below your initial reload magazine. They didn’t skimp on the construction either. The mag pouch is manufactured from printed webbing with elastic sides for retention and the Dump Pouch portion is 500D Cordura. Naturally, it’s Berry compliant.

MDM – Battle Systems LLC

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013

20130924-100759.jpg

As far as I am concerned Battle Systems LLC owns the signal panel market. Now, they’ve teamed with the guys at EAGLElement to develop the Multipurpose Marker Panel Bag that does double duty as a marker panel as well as a SSE bag. Triple duty if you consider it can be stuffed and used as a pillow.

Available in two models, one is zipped and the other non-zipped. Obviously, the non-zippered model has to be turned inside out for use as a signal panel but the zippered version offers twice the panel real estate as well as two Velcro strips for Brite Strike APALS or other accessories.
