Green Beret Foundation… Raising awareness At SHOT Show

Sunday, January 18th, 2015

The United States is emerging from the longest war in its history. It is a war that involved two major fronts in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as other incursions in hot spots around the globe. This war involved millions of veterans, however much of it was fought by a small group of special operators. Even as most U.S. military are coming home, Green Berets are still serving in the dusty villages of Iraq and Afghanistan.  This won’t change.  It’s the life they lead and one that they are very proud of as vanguards of freedom in dark places around the world.

The Green Beret Foundation provides immediate financial assistance to Green Berets who are injured in the line of duty, to their families, and to the families of their fallen brothers. They also distribute funds to support the extended care an injured Green Beret required in the event the VA is unable or unwilling. The Foundation is focused on the immediate special needs of our wounded and is dedicated to the long term health of the Green Beret Family.

The Green Beret Foundation is sending a small contingent to “Continue the Fight” and looking not just to raise awareness but to find support from fellow Americans. If you see them stop them, talk to them and work with them. Be sure to visit their website www.greenberetfoundatin.org and their Youtube Channel. Here is a short video of one of those attending Shot Show.

First Lite Fusion

Sunday, January 18th, 2015

First Lite makes wool hunting clothing. First Lite’s wares have caught the eye of some SOF personnel who appreciate the many benefits of wool. Now, First Lite has introduced a proprietary camouflage pattern.

No pixels. No trees. Designed exclusively for First Lite, Fusion is a proprietary mix of shapes and colors designed to obliterate the human shape.

Apparently, the signature feature of this camouflage is its “crackalature”. They’ve got some additional info over at www.firstlite.com/first-lite-fusion so go read up on it.

If checking out this pattern wasn’t a good enough reason to visit them at SHOT Show, they’ll host a keg at 4PM on Wednesday in booth 10053, right by Magpul.

All In All the Time Foundation SHOT Show Fundraiser Details

Sunday, January 18th, 2015

The All In All the Time Foundation was founded in 2008 by Christina Valentine, the surviving spouse of Special Operator Senior Chief (SOCS) SEAL Thomas J. Valentine, who served at Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG). Tom died in a training accident in February 2008 during his 18th year of service. Originally established as a golf tournament the objective has always been to fill the immediate and interim financial needs of the surviving spouses and children of fallen, injured and active SEALs and support personnel.

In 2015, the All In Foundation plans honor the heroes of Operation Red Wings. They will commemorate the 10 year anniversary of this horrific event with a $10,000 grant or scholarship in honor of each of the fallen heroes. Many of the community’s larger benevolent organizations were just starting with Operation Red Wings happened and unfortunately their benefits are not retroactive. Christina has taken it upon herself to go back to those families who didn’t receive assistance and provided respite care.

The All In Team will have two big fundraising efforts at Shot Show. Stop by the S & S Precision booth 8206 to see the custom 2 Vet Arms rifle being given away. Text “tommyv” to 80888 for a $10 donation entry. You may enter as many times as you like. Drawing will be Thursday at 4:30 at the S & S Booth.

Get This – .300 Blk Krink Collab Between Rifle Dynamics and SilencerCo

Sunday, January 18th, 2015

IMG_8258.JPG

That’s right, Rifle Dynamics and SilencerCo have come together to offer a Krink in .300 Blackout. What with the 7.62 x 39, you might wonder why even bother. According to RD’s Billy Cho, the decision was made in order to utilize subsonic ammo along with SilencerCo’s suppressor.

IMG_8260.JPG

They’re staying mum about where the barrels came from but they will share that they are 1/7 twist. 9.25 inch barrel.

IMG_8261.JPG

Cho also related that they aren’t over gassing these guns. They are optimized for use with suppressors and won’t cycle unsuppressed with subsonic ammo.

IMG_8259.JPG

Right now these are being produced as a limited run of 25 as a package deal with Silencerco. But, Cho went on to say, “We will also be releasing a batch of suppressor optimized 7.62 and 5.45 guns that are basically our 700/500 series guns. Which are currently the ideal way to run suppressed.”

You can see samples of most of Rifle Dunamics’ guns they are doing with SilencerCo at their booth during SHOT show. This includes the Saiga 12 “cho-gun” RD built for SilencerCo’s Salvo12 suppressor and the new Vepr12/Saiga12 Salvo adapter.
