OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – May 16, 2016 – BLACKHAWK!’s new Leather Tuckable Pancake Holster offers maximum versatility and the ability to adapt to most popular carry configurations.

The design allows civilians and law enforcement officers to choose from inside-the-waistband, tuckable or belt-mounted wear. The holster combines premium leather and injection-molded plastic to offer comfort, security and rugged durability.

Safariland Expands Protech Tactical Line With New X-CAL US Hard Armor Plates

Impressive low-profile sub 4 lbs ICW plate defeats rifle threats

Jacksonville, Fla. – Safariland today announced the expansion of its Protech® Tactical X-CAL™ line of “in-conjunction-with” (ICW) ballistic hard armor plates with the addition of the X-CAL US. Independently tested under the NIJ 0101.04 type III protocol, this special threat plate under 4 lbs. in weight is designed to defeat high-threat rounds and velocities.

With an increased availability of the M855/SS109 round in the domestic market, this hard armor plate will fill the product gap for a high-end, lightweight plate that can protect officers at risk of encountering this type of ballistic threat. Developed in collaboration with Hesco® Corporation, a world leader and innovator in the design and manufacturing of protective systems, the debut of the X-CAL US plates affirms the partnership’s ongoing dedication to bringing products to market that meet the evolving challenges and threats in military, security and law enforcement environments.

An average two pounds lighter than traditional type III rifle threat plates, the X-CAL US minimizes bulk and load-bearing weight to enhance maneuverability. The X-CAL US plate is approved for use with NIJ soft armor packages offered by Safariland, including the Summit® SM02 Type IIIA, Xtreme® XT03 Type IIIA and Xtreme® SX02 Type IIIA. With an impressive low-profile, the X-CAL US plate is just 0.75” thick with protection against numerous threat rounds such as the 7.62mm FMJ (NATO) and special threat rounds such as the 7.62mm x 39mm, 123 gr. MSC and the 5.56mm, 62 gr. (M855)(SS109) at six impacts each.

Falcon 37 – HABU Mod 1 Advanced Engagement Charging Handle

The HABU Mod 1 from Falcon 37 integrates a cheek riser into an AR charging handle. The concept was to make the charging handle more easier to use. The additional benefit is that it offers about half an inch of riser which will help out with cheek weld. The Mod 1 is designed for 5.56 weapons and a planned Mod 2 will work with 7.62 ARs.

Above you can see the HABU extended. Just like a standard charging handle, it returns to the forward position, under spring tension from the action spring against the bolt. It stays in place thanks to a new latch which doesn’t require a release lever. If the shooter needs to take immediate action, it is similar to racking the slide of a pistol with the nonfiring hand.

The HABU is designed to fit any stock and is manufactured by Bill Rogers exclusively for Falcon 37 from 7075 T6 Aircraft Aluminum and MilSpec Hard Coat Anodized. The cheek rest portion consists of 80/18 glass polymer.

Grinnell, Iowa – Brownells will make its 68th consecutive “NRA Show” appearance at the upcoming 145th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits, held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, May 20 – 22, 2016. Brownells will welcome visitors at Booth #3401, located next to the NRA’s booth, at the main entrance.

At the booth, attendees will have an opportunity to handle 10 of Brownells’ newest Dream Guns® – highly-customized firearms designed to showcase Brownells’ product line and to inspire customers to personalize their firearms.

Additionally, booth visitors can register for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip for two to Brownells in Grinnell, Iowa, for a range day with Brownells-sponsored professional 3-Gun shooter Janna Reeves on July 26. The winner will also receive an identical copy of Janna’s famous red competition AR-15, nicknamed “Scarlett.” The entire prize package is valued at $3,000.
