Blade Show 2017 – DPx Gear HEST/F Urban

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

Although we have showed the HEST/F Urban in the past, this is the production model. In fact, it’s the first all titanium production run of their 100% U.S.A. sourced and manufactured folding knife. The DPx Gear HEST/F (Hostile Environment Survival Tool/Folding) Urban features a compact, under three-inch blade.

Features:

American 6Al4v Titanium Frame. A frame made of aerospace quality, American 6Al4v titanium alloy in a stonewashed finish.

CPM S35V Stainless Steel Blade. A U.S. made and formulated martensitic blade steel also in a stonewashed finish.

Bearing Pivot. Stainless steel caged bearing pivot hardware for rapid deployment and effortless opening and closing.

DPx Gear Patented Blade Notch. Designed to allow the knife to open faster than an automatic and to the rear of the holder, keeping it safe from the assailant. Naturally it was also designed to open beer bottles and function as a pot holder.

Integral ¼” Hex Drive. DPx believes if you are going to carry around a quality knife it better earn its keep. Pairing commonly used hex tools with our built in hex drive turns your DPx HEST/F Urban into a multi tool.

DPx Gear Patented Tri-Gauge Wire Strippers. Jimping that doubles as wire strippers in the exact size of household gauge, auto and even timer wires (for blasting or electronics).

Frame Lock. The US-invented frame lock for bulletproof lockup. First used in Chris Reeves’ famous Sebenza® knives it has become the standard locking feature for high-end custom knives. We added a stainless steel cap to reduce wear on the lock face.

Glass Breaker. The DPx HEST/F Urban has a tungsten carbide glass breaker. A potentially lifesaving tool in the event of an auto accident or fire.

Reversible, Deep Carry Pocket Clip. The deep carry clip ensures your knife rides as low and as unobtrusively as possible in your pocket. The clip is fully reversible to meet your carry needs.

Triple Aught Design – Spectre 34 Pack

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

The Spectre 34’s scalable, lightweight design includes customizable 7075 aluminum stays and HDPE frame sheet, adjustable harness system including removable waistbelt, and expandable capacity.

A 3-row, 4-column PALS grid on the face supports the Spectre compression system and accessory pouches, such as the OP1, GPP1 and GPP2. A low-profile daisy chain along the periphery of the bag provides attachment points for S1/S2 pouches, radios, and other accessories.

Internal mounting points within the main compartment support a range of accessories such as Control Panels for further customization.

Isolated side compartments, easily accessed via dedicated full-length zippers and separated from the main compartment by durable and water-resistant ripstop panels, feature hanging loops, covered exit ports, and externally routed drain holes. Ideal for hydration systems, isolating wet or dirty gear, or for keeping extra layers and small items readily accessible.

The Spectre Transporter Tail, hydration pack systems, and other accessories can attach to either the concealed, integrated attachment points at the crown or to the daisy chain for externally configurable storage.

Similar attachment points inside the side pockets allow for management of ice tools and other gear along the sides of the pack via the zippered port on the bottom.

A modular compression system controls the load in the main compartment, or can be positioned across the pack to carry larger items, such as snowshoes or antler shed.

UF PRO Readies for Rollout of Frost Grey: New Colour Promises Superior Urban Damp-Down

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

UF PRO, maker of innovative tactical clothing, today said it expects to roll out its much-anticipated urban shade Frost Grey by the end of May.

The new colour is engineered to make a wearer standing, crouching, or laying prone in proximity to buildings and infrastructure harder to spot than if he or she were clad in traditional black.

Frost Grey initially will be available only for the company’s Striker XT Gen.2 battle dress uniforms, according to Armin Wagner, head of product development at UF PRO. Later in 2017, Frost Grey will become a colour option for other top-rated UF PRO combat uniform products, including:

• P-40 All-Terrain Pants
• Hunter FZ Jacket
• Delta OL 3.0 Cold Weather Jacket
• Delta AcE Sweater

Frost Grey BDUs exhibited at UF PRO’s IWA OutdoorClassics trade fair booth earlier this year in Nuremberg, Germany, generated considerable excitement among the approximately 49,000 attendees, particularly those who work in law enforcement, Wagner reported.

“Wearing Frost Grey won’t turn you invisible, but it will definitely make you much harder to spot in an urban jungle,” he said. “We designed Frost Grey to allow the wearer to hide better, vanish faster, and more effortlessly blend in with immediate surroundings.”

MINIMIZES VISUAL SIGNATURES

Wagner explained that the ability to blend in is especially important for tactical clothing wearers engaged in surveillance activities.

“The better you blend in, the safer you are as you go about observing and documenting,” he said. “Colour is a very important part of this. We believe that Frost Grey is the colour that works best if the goal is to make you indistinguishable from the surrounding environment and what you’re surrounded by is an urban environment.”

Frost Grey – lighter than other shades of grey currently on the market – was engineered to minimize the visual signatures a person produces amidst a backdrop of granite-faced or

concrete buildings, Wagner said. He added that smaller signatures reduce the possibility of detection by suspects or hostiles whether nearby or at a distance.

Grey generally has in recent years emerged as a dominant color among producers of tactical equipment and clothing, Wagner indicated.

“Makers and users alike have more and more been aligning with the idea dating back to World War II that grey can damp down better than black in low-light conditions,” he said. “It’s why we say grey is the new black. Our Frost Grey is solid proof that it is.”

Introducing Violent Little Greeting Cards

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

Somewhere in the mountains of Ketchum, Idaho, Violent Little Machine Shop is kind of pleased to announce their new business line: Violent Little Greeting Cards, which will be geared towards the military, tactical, and general scallywag communities. Finally, there are cards for the relationships you always wanted but could just never muster up the courage to develop on your own. We’ll help you get there…

The initial line consists of 13 painstakingly-designed cards to suit a variety of scenarios. All are printed in the United States of America on tastefully thick 14 pt. premium paper that just wants to caress the ink into a masterpiece of bullshit. Newly dubbed CEO, Oscar Sanchez, was excited about the new line: “I’m really not too sure about this new card thing. Honestly, it’s been kind of tough to get on board with the “vision”, but I’ve also got a boss… so it’s not like I’ve got a choice in the matter. I’ll push what he tells me to push.” He added, “I guess my head’s on the chopping block… I feel like I’m kind of in a “no win” situation, but oh well. I’ll start polishing up my resume. Anybody know if Black Rifle Coffee is hiring? I hear Stratton Oakmont has some good benefits.”

Violent Little Greeting Cards are the perfect way to tell your best friend to “fuck off”, make Mom feel kind of special on her special day, or just as a general “hello” to that fake friend you haven’t talked to since High School graduation that wrote “Seniors are the Best” in your yearbook and then you bumped into him at the Chik-fil-A he was assistant-managing and you felt guilty because you’re now a big time boss-hawg.

INVISIO receives a SEK 30 million order from partner MCL to support the British hearing protection program THPS

Saturday, June 3rd, 2017

INVISIO (IVSO) has received an order from partner MCL to provide hearing protection and communication systems for the British Tactical Hearing Protection System program (THPS). The order value amounts to approximately SEK 30 million and deliveries are planned for the second half of 2017.

The order for the INVISIO system is part of a contract awarded to Marlborough Communications Ltd (MCL) by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) in 2015 covering the delivery of systems to the British Army, the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the Army Reserve. THPS, Tactical Hearing Protection Systems, is the modernization program for hearing protection and communications systems of the UK Ministry of Defence.

The 2015 contract is for four years with options for a further three years and comprises INVISIO’S hearing protection and communications system INVISIO S10. The solution provides the user with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in noisy environments, providing first rate hearing protection and situational awareness to personnel on operations, whilst offering more comfort.

INVISIO has previously supplied the THPS program with equipment corresponding to sales of approximately SEK 150 million.
