Original SWAT Public Order Boot, Winner of NAUMD’s Best Footwear Innovation Award

Thursday, March 29th, 2018

Morristown, TN – March 28, 2018

The development of the Original Footwear Co public order boot was the result of feedback from users around the Globe. Traditionally boots used for public order had an external metatarsal guard to protect the lace area at the front of the foot. This didn’t also work so well however. Police officers were still getting injured due to the guards not fitting properly and if petrol bombs were thrown the petrol would tend to continue to burn underneath the guard damaging both the boot and potentially causing further injury.

Our response to that was to make a boot with a metatarsal guard that was integrated into the boot. High impact PU is built into the tongue area of the boot and additional protection is also provided on the external ankle area of the boot.

The boot is made from fire resistant full grain leather and also has FR laces and thread. Non metallic safety toe cap and a non metallic anti-penetration plate provide excellent protection and the boot is finished with 3M® Defender to ensure liquid run off the boots.

After extensive end user testing around the World the boot is now complete and certified to EN ISO 20345:2011, the international safety boot standard and British Standard BS 7971:2016 Part 5 which is the only dedicated public order footwear standard in the World.

“We are honored that our Original S.W.A.T.® Public Order Boot won the Best Footwear Innovation Award at NAUMD. We worked hard to get this product certified by the major safety testing agencies in the world.” said Kevin Cole, CEO of the Original Footwear Company.

The Original S.W.A.T® Public Order Boot is now available worldwide.

Dan Brokos Even Stipples His Carbine’s Pistol Grip

Wednesday, March 28th, 2018

I had a chance to check out one of Dan Brokos’ (SGM, USA Ret) during last week’s USASOC Sniper Comp. Naturally, the Troy Industries carbine was outfitted with his new accessory line, but something struck me. He relies on a stippled GI pistol grip.
