Federal Premium Ammunition Rejoins National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers

ANOKA, Minnesota – April 10, 2018 – Federal Premium Ammunition is pleased to announce the company has renewed its membership in the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) and will attend the group’s 2018 Expo and Annual Meeting October 16-19 at the David L. Team SIG Captain Max Michel Continues Award-Winning Streak at U.S. Steel National Championship

Newington, N.H. (April 5, 2018) – SIG SAUER, Inc. congratulates Team SIG Captain, Max Michel, on continuing his award-winning 2018 competitive shooting season at the U.S. Steel National Championship. Michel took home the grand prize of overall Main Match National Champion at the 2018 U.S. Steel National Championship in Covington, Georgia, March 28th through the 31st. Additionally Michel took second place in the carry optics division, and third place in the rimfire division.

To claim the 2018 National Championship title Michel completed eight courses of fire, with five steel targets ranging in size and distances, in 78.28 seconds using a 9mm SIG SAUER 1911 outfitted with a SIG ROMEO3 optic. “With limited time to train for this event I decided to enter into three divisions. I felt shooting in the rimfire and carry optics divisions gave me the opportunity to get into the match mindset leading up to the overall main event,” said Max Michel on his 2018 U.S. Steel National Championship performance. “My strategy proved to be effective. While my score in the overall event wasn’t my fastest, I was very happy with the way I battled mentally to bring this title to SIG SAUER.”

The 2018 title is Michel’s sixth overall main match U.S. Steel National Championship title. Team SIG Captain Michel also owns seven World Speed Shooting Championships, and is the “most-winning” action shooter in steel challenge history. “We are extremely proud of Team SIG Captain Max Michel and his accomplishments. NoSweat Liner For Headgear

Ironically, I ran across the NoSweat Liner during a recent trip overseas. It’s ironic because it’s an American product, made right here in the good ol’ US of A.

I suppose I’d never run across it because it has been targeted at other industries like construction. But once I saw it, I knew this disposable liner would work well for Ballistic helmets and even soft caps.

It immediately made me think about the panty liners my Drill Sergeants wore in the brim of their campaign hats in the summer of ’85. The idea was to absorb the sweat and keep it from dripping into their eyes so they could maintain that steely eyed stare. The NoSweat Liner not only does that, but also feels cool to the touch, but not damp. The NoSweat Liner kicks in the sweat thanks to their SweatLock technology.

It’s super easy to use. The backside is self adhesive, so you peel the shipping strip off and stick it in place in your headgear, right up front, against your forehead. Not only will it keep the sweat out of your eyes, but it will help reduce fogging in eyepro.

Like I said, these were designed for commercial use, so they have hat, helmet (as in sports helmet) and hard hat liners. Available in 3, 12 and 25 Packs.

The NoSweat Liner will need to be replaced but how often depends on how much you wear the headgear and how much sweat into it. I’d say every few days in the summer for a daily wear item like a helmet or cap.

2nd SFAB Is Recruiting

The 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade is forming at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Their mission is to deploy in support of a Combatant Commander, integrate with foreign partner forces, assist and advise local security operations to build partner security capacity and capability and achieve regional security in support of US National Interests.

They are looking for experienced NCO in the following MOSs to fill their ranks.

I am serious as a heart attack when I recommend that you consider an assignment with SFAB. The Army is putting a lot of emphasis on these new units. If garrison duty has you down, assignment to an SFAB will get you back on track.

By all accounts, the 1st SFAB is filled with excellent NCOs and Officers and they are being fielded the latest equipment, receiving training not offered to most in the conventional forces, and are being deployed to combat zones. That’s what being a Soldier is all about.

There are also some incentives:

– $5,000 bonuses (Assignment Incentive Pay (AIP)) for qualified voluteers–as long as the Soldier serves in the unit for at least 12-months.

– Special Promotion Category to SGT–fully eligible SPCs/CPLs promoted with 799 points upon completion of Security Force Assistance Advisor Course (SFAAC).

– Suspended PME requirement to attain pin-on eligibility to SGT through MSG.

– Assignment of choice upon completion of 24-month assignment.
