Meprolight Obtains ISO 37001 Certification for its Anti-Bribery Management System

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Meprolight – a member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, has been awarded this week by the Israel Standards Institute with the ISO 37001 certification for its anti-bribery management system. Meprolight is the first company in the defense sector in Israel to obtain certification under this standard and also one of the first nationwide.

ISO 37001, which was issued in October 2016 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), advocates a series of measures to help organizations of all sizes, both private and public, to prevent, detect and tackle bribery through the implementation of an anti-bribery management system. Drafted by a committee of academic, government, and industry experts from 56 countries and seven liaison organizations, this standard is intended for application across all industries and geographies.

“We are very proud to be among the first companies in Israel to receive this certification. It demonstrates our strong commitment to ethics and validates the considerable efforts made internally to increase communication and awareness of our ethical procedures and values. We have set ourselves a goal as a Group, to carry out the certification process for the other defense companies in SK Group as well, including IWI, Camero Tech, and Israel Shipyards” said Mr. Samy Katsav, Chairman of Meprolight and SK Group.

Grey Ghost Gear makes an IMPACT with their latest backpack design

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Backpack

Wallace, ID – Grey Ghost Gear is revealing a new product to join their already diverse lineup of backpacks: the Impact 24.

Having designed a plethora of bags and backpacks in all shapes and sizes with specific civilian, Law Enforcement, and military roles in mind, it goes without saying that Grey Ghost Gear has a solid product offering already. Which begs the question: why a new backpack and what does it do that the other bags did not?

The answers lie with Grey Ghost’s own Senior Product Designer, who made the bag when he was commuting via bike every day. “I needed a more vertical backpack with a specific pocket configuration that I had not seen yet in any of our existing bags. I kept experimenting with tiered exterior pockets for all the essentials I needed in an average 24-hour period like my phone, wallet & keys, etc.… along with space for bike tools, patch kit and an extra tube in case of a flat. Most importantly, I wanted to truncate the main compartment in favor of a third exterior pocket at the bottom with maximum depth,” said Stephen Crowe, the designer behind Impact 24. Originally intended to house premade meals, this bottom pocket is spacious enough for cameras, small drones and other sensitive items that would otherwise get crushed if tossed into the main compartment with other items.”

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Backpack

When the rest of the team at GGG saw the prototype, it was unanimous that it needed to join the ranks of Grey Ghost’s other urban-minded bags like the Gypsy or the Scarab. The main compartment of the Impact 24 is still roomy, despite the bottom wall that partitions it from the bottom pocket. Thanks to its structured walls, there’s plenty of protection for a larger drone, camera equipment, or a change of clothes. What really stands out are the organizational subtleties that were sprinkled in the right spots. There’s a laptop sleeve with an adjustable buckle, which is pretty standard these days. Flanking both sides however, are longer zippered pockets that are perfect for charging cords, snacks, or a couple wrenches. The front wall has a zippered mesh pocket, giving you more room for the aforementioned items.

Being constructed of Rip-Stop Nylon and 500-D Cordura® kept the bag lightweight and well balanced, perfect for anyone on the move; something you will appreciate if you ride your bicycle, motorcycle, skateboard or scooter to work. The structure and organized nooks and crannies are an immediate favorite for photographers and drone operators, including GGG’s own media department. “Being able to stow a small drone like a Mavic Pro in the bottom pocket, so that larger and heavier camera equipment can go into the main compartment, along with dedicated pockets for all the batteries, memory cards, power cords, docks, and lenses. “It really makes remote sessions easier without having to lug multiple cases or bags out into the field,” says Manuel Gutierrez, Grey Ghost’s wiz behind the lens.

The exterior of the Impact 24 has four strings of daisy chain loops that line the left and right sides and parallel the front pockets. Daisy chains are your friend, especially if you ever need to clip or lash extra gear to your pack using carabiners, webbing straps or cordage. You can hang almost anything from a backpack using a system like this, from solar power chargers to a wet coat or a tarp. Finally, a worthy host for your novelty carabiner collection!

The back of the Impact 24 has thick mesh-lined padding to ensure for a comfortable all-day ride without the infamous sweat stain down your back. The mesh encourages ample airflow to the back as well as the underside of the adjustable shoulder straps, making the Impact 24 a favorite daily commuter.

Grey Ghost Gear Impact 24 Bag

The Impact 24 backpack is available now for preorder on GGG’s website for a limited introductory price of $105. Available in Black/Black Diamond, Wolf Grey/Black Diamond and Olive/Black Diamond color combinations, the Impact 24 has an MSRP of $175. “We wanted to literally make an Impact in the backpack market with the announcement of this new bag design” said Grey Ghost Gear CEO, Casey Ingels. “It checks a lot of boxes that we have heard from many of our off-duty and covert end users, as well as our own team members. We’re excited to see this bag out in the wild.”

Be sure to subscribe to the Grey Ghost Gear email list to be alerted as more intel becomes available.

Federal’s New 224 Valkyrie Loads Stretch Long-Range Horizons

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

ANOKA, Minnesota – August 22, 2019 – Federal proudly announces two new flat-shooting Premium 224 Valkyrie loads that deliver precision accuracy at long ranges. Shipments of these Federal Premium 224 Valkyrie cartridges have been delivered to dealers.

In 2018, Federal transformed the MSR 15 platform and broke all boundaries of ballistic performance by introducing the 224 Valkyrie cartridge. Now, it’s giving hunters and shooters new loads that stretch the cartridge’s capabilities even farther: 80.5-grain Gold Medal Berger Hybrid and 78-grain Barnes Triple-Shock X.

Like all 224 Valkyrie offerings, the new loads provide extremely flat trajectories and match accuracy at extreme ranges. They offer significantly less wind drift and drop than other loads in their class, as well as less than half the recoil of cartridges with comparable ballistics.

“The 224 Valkyrie cartridge’s dramatically improved trajectories over all other MSR 15 cartridges, including the 22 Nosler, 223 Rem. and 6.5 Grendel—with less recoil of larger cartridges offering comparable ballistics, such as the 6.5 Creedmoor,” said Federal Centerfire Product Director Mike Holm. “And with the full array of high-performance projectiles available, it’s poised to deliver on virtually every shooter’s needs. For those looking for something new, different and better from their AR-15 platform, the 224 Valkyrie is it.”

Lancer Systems Doubles Down On Soldier Safety

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Lancer’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazine provides multiple life-saving features for non-lethal training.

Quakertown, PA – The job of a military service member or law enforcement officer is difficult enough without having to worry about being injured during a routine training exercise. That concern, however, is well-founded based upon the frequency and severity of incidents that occur during simulated combat training. The majority of these injuries – and even deaths – are the result of live ammunition being accidentally introduced into the training environment.

Until recently, training exercises involving blank ammunition or non-lethal marking ammunition still required the use of standard rifle magazines. These magazines can be easily mixed up with magazines containing live ammunition; the results of which can, and do, prove deadly.

Lancer Systems takes soldier safety very seriously and is proud to announce the official launch of their L5AWM® Safety Magazine. These new Safety Magazines are specifically designed with a number of safety features not currently available in any other training magazine, including an updated internal geometry that inhibits even a single round of standard live ammunition from being loading into a rifle. Additionally, the translucent magazine body provides instant visual confirmation of ammunition type and round count, allowing instructors and trainees alike to have complete confidence during training exercises.

Lancer’s L5AWM Safety Magazines are compatible with most M4-pattern weapon platforms chambered in 5.56mm NATO and have been extensively tested and proven to be reliable with non-lethal cartridges from Simunition®, Force on ForceTM, and standard 5.56mm blanks.

For more information and purchasing details, please contact Chuck Vlasek at cvlasek@lancer-systems.com.

Lancer System’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazines inhibit the loading of even a single round of live-fire ammunition and have a translucent body for visual identification of ammunition type and round count.

SureFire Announces Suppressor Training Product NSNs

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Fountain Valley, CA—SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, is pleased to announce that National Stock Numbers (NSN) are now assigned to SureFire’s full spectrum of training products.

SF-BSD-556  NSN/ 1005-01-608-7572

Train Smarter. The SureFire Blank Safety Device not only cycles the host weapon when using blank ammunition, but is designed to safely contain up to three inadvertently fired live rounds of M855 without injuring the shooter or others. The BSD duplicates the weight, length and feel of its equivalent SureFire sound suppressor which is critical in providing realistic training value. If a live round is fired, the live round penetrates a sacraficial wall, causing sound and flash to vent from the bottom of the BSD and alerting the shooter and those around him of a problem. The SF-BSD-556 is specifically for 10.5″ barrels, such as the MK18, while the SF-BSD-556-M4 is for 14.5″ barrels. The Fast-Attach® mechanism allows for secure attachment or removal of the Blank Safety Device to SureFire compatible adapters, no tools required.

Train like you Fight. SureFire Suppressor Trainers are intended for use with marking cartridges (e.g. Simunition® FX®, and UTM), training ammunition (e.g. SRTA), frangible and live ammunition in a training environment. The SureFire Trainers mimic the length, weight, and attachment of SureFire SOCOM Fast-Attach® suppressors allowing warfighters to train as they would fight when participating in force on force training scenarios. Every SureFire Suppressor Trainer is made in the U.S.A.

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

GUNNISON, Utah – (August 26, 2019) New for fall, Christensen Arms has announced the Modern Precision Rifle Chassis. It is the company’s first bolt-action rifle chassis. The Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle Chassis is the same ultra-lightweight adjustable system found on the Modern Precision Rifle offered as an individual component. Built in the USA with aerospace grade aluminum and carbon fiber elements—the chassis delivers effortless form and function—all while weighing less than 3 and a half pounds.

“Ever since we launched the Modern Precision Rifle, an independent chassis has been one of the most common requests we receive,” said Jason Christensen, President of Christensen Arms. “We’re pleased to expand the platform.”

The system is shipped assembled and includes a custom free-floating carbon fiber handguard with M-Lok™. The platform also features an adjustable carbon fiber comb and length of pull. The folding buttstock reduces the length of the chassis by 9 inches, allowing for more convenient storage and transportation. The Modern Precision Rifle Chassis is offered in both Black and Desert Brown anodized finishes for a retail price of $1,095. Options include a short-action model with a 14 or 17 inch handguard and a long-action model with a 17 inch handguard.
