Machine Gun Announcement from Geissele Automatics and Barrett

Tuesday, January 14th, 2020

North Wales, Pennsylvania – Geissele Automatics is proud to announce their acquisition of the 240LW and 240LWS machine gun technical data package and intellectual property from Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. Barrett also announced it has entered into a technical support agreement for the 240LW and 240LWS with Geissele.

The 240LW and 240LWS are lighter, more robust versions of the medium machine guns fielded by U.S. and allied forces around the world. The design uses a patented two-piece construction process that simplifies and solidifies the forged receiver without resorting to exotic materials or having to rely on rivets that can loosen.

Bill Geissele, President and Founder of Geissele Automatics, said “The Barrett team has taken the good performing, but dated, M240 weapon system and made it into a machine gun for the 21st century. The 240LW/LWS is improved in every performance aspect: it’s lighter, more reliable, easier to load, easier to maintain, more ergonomic and more controllable. With the addition of Geissele’s forged long life barrels and NanoWeapon (Picatinny DSL) coating we look forward to providing the U.S. warfighter and our allies with 240LW/LWS machine guns.”

Since 2007 Geissele has been serving the U.S. Special Operations community and SOF units world-wide with high performance weapon systems and components. Geissele is also proud to provide these same products to our law enforcement officers and civilian shooters.

Sam Shallenberger, President of Barrett, said “Barrett is the leader in large caliber, long range precision rifles for the most demanding shooters on Earth. Barrett .50 caliber systems have been adopted by the U.S. Military as the US Rifle M107, and the Barrett MRAD has recently been adopted by USSOCOM as the Mark 22. After working with Geissele on other projects for several years, we are confident they are the right organization to maximize the potential of this latest Barrett firearms design.”

Barrett is a family-owned and operated company and the world leader in large-caliber, long-distance, precision rifle design and manufacturing. Barrett products are used by civilians, sport shooters, law enforcement agencies, the United States military and more than 73 State Department approved countries around the world.

Level 3 Holsters to be Furnished with Glock 17 Gen5 Pistols

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia – January 14, 2020 – Blackhawk, a leader in the law enforcement and military equipment realm for over 20 years, announced today that it will participate in a contract for the French Armament General Directorate to equip newly furnished Glock G17 Gen5 pistols with new T-Series L3D holsters. The French Army recently selected the G17 Gen5 and multiple accessories to be used as their standard handgun and the new equipment, including the Blackhawk T-Series holster, will be distributed to the French troops within the first months of 2020.

As part of the contract, over 75,000 pistols, holsters and related accessories will be provided to the French Army over the next three years. The tender, launched in early March 2019, was open to multiple possible candidates who were asked to submit their entries for review. As part of the try-outs conducted by the French DGA, all equipment was subjected to a series of stringent tests to asses both the reliability and user-friendliness of the offered pistols and their accessories.

“The recent selection by the French Army to pair newly acquired Glock G17 Gen5 pistols with our T-Series L3D holsters is a tremendous validation of the innovation and durability featured in our new duty-rated holsters,” said Josh Waldron, President of Blackhawk. “We are extremely proud and honored to have been chosen by Glock to serve as the holster supplier for this tender. The French Army will be receiving our newest holster system that has been specifically engineered for compatibility with multiple platforms, making it one of the most versatile options available for military and police agencies.”

Developed with a low-friction, dual-density internal material, the T-Series holsters allows for a smooth and effortless draw, while its external design features a proprietary glass reinforced nylon and soft touch polymer lines for the upmost durability. Adding to its versatility, the T-Series L3D holster is standard with three different mounting options. User can select either the S.T.R.I.K.E®/MOLLE Platform, T-Series Duty Belt Loop or Blackhawk drop leg platforms, all featuring the patented Blackhawk Quick Disconnect System. This unique and one-of-a-kind system allows the holster to be quickly and conveniently moved from one platform to another with no tools required.

Designed to follow Blackhawk’s Master Grip Principle, all T-Series holsters have been specifically developed to allow the user’s hand to land naturally where it should in order to deploy the sidearm. This efficient movement pairs with a sound-dampening, low-friction, dual-density internal material that translates into a smooth, quiet draw.

OSS Partners With Dan Brokos And Lead Faucet Tactical

Tuesday, January 14th, 2020

MILLCREEK, UT – January X, 2020

OSS Suppressors LLC is proud to announce our partnership with Dan Brokos and Lead Faucet Tactical (LFT).

Brokos is a retired Army Special Forces Sergeant Major, and before founding LFT, he served as the NCOIC of Fort Bragg’s Range 37 — the Army’s Special Forces CQB and Sniper school.  Range 37 turns out Green Beret assaulters and snipers, equipping them not only with skills specific to their roles, but also to act as instructors within their own teams. In addition to schooling hundreds of operators every year, Range 37 staff also expend hundreds of thousands of rounds in evaluating weapons systems — they know first-hand what works well and what doesn’t.

Mr. Brokos uses OSS suppressors personally and in his LFT training.  “I think I’ve probably shot more suppressed rounds than anyone, and I know well the negative effects baffle suppressors have on rifles and shooter health,” he said. “OSS’s Flow-Through™ suppressors prevent blowback so my guns shoot quieter, run cleaner and cooler, and I don’t get a face full of grit and toxic gas you get with baffle cans.”

LFT conducts training for Patrol, SWAT, Federal Agencies, Military and civilians nationwide (see 2020 Schedule). “Recently, I trained a SWAT squad who attended our CQB session with their own department rifles and suppressors,” he said. “After a full day of live fire, the SWAT guys saw that their faces were covered with blowback grit or “gas face” while my pretty mug was pristine. I feel the OSS difference every time I pull the trigger.”

“I’ve known Dan a long time and value his unmatched experience, professionalism and skills” said Dennis Cunningham, OSS’s Director of Government Business Development & Sales. “We’re excited to have him on the OSS team, and proud to support him and Lead Faucet Tactical as they train law enforcement and military teams across the country.”

Dan Brokos will be at SHOT Show at OSS Suppressors’ Booth #7210 during the day Wednesday 1/22.

Griffin Armament Announces The BUSHWHACKER 46 Universal Sound Suppressor

Tuesday, January 14th, 2020

Watertown, WI, January 14, 2020 — After fourteen years of dedicated professional work and development in the sound suppressor market, Griffin Armament is proud to introduce the Bushwhacker® 46, a universal sound suppressor designed to maximize feature functionality, performance, and value with a vast selection of caliber compatibility.

The Bushwhacker’s durable 1.375×24 threaded 17-4 stainless steel tube chassis, is supplied with a Griffin Plan-A Taper Mount adapter, Taper Mount muzzle device, and a booster piston housing. These factory inclusions allow the Bushwhacker to quickly and easily be configured for centerfire rifle or handgun use. Its .46 caliber diameter provides end users with the most caliber flexibility possible, while retaining quality sound suppression. .450 Bushmaster, .458 socom, .45-70 Govt, and other large bore calibers are at home with the Bushwhacker 46. Additionally, .30 caliber Paladin blast shield front cap can be interfaced with the Bushwhacker 46 further improving sound performance on the Paladin with 30 caliber and lesser rounds like .308 Win, .300 BLK, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

Sound suppressors can increase in weight and reduce in internal volume, losing performance over time from carbon and copper accumulation. The Bushwhacker features Griffin Armament’s unique, patented Ratchet-lok end cap which provides the user with a robust mechanism to disassemble their suppressor easily for periodic cleaning and maintenance. This consumer demanded technology and the included tools ensure that your investment can be reset to factory weight and sound performance specifications with minor preventative maintenance.

The Bushwhacker 46 also features Griffin’s patented High Efficiency, Dual Purpose baffle technology. HEDP baffles are engineered to provide balanced sound performance on a host of popular calibers and firearms. The bushwhacker’s 6AL4V Titanium HEDP baffles provide impressive sound performance measuring 141dB with full power .450 Bushmaster, 126dB with .300 blackout subsonic, and 130dB with .45 ACP. The 17-4 Stainless tube, front cap and Titanium baffle stack give put the Bushwhacker at 16.3 ounces in its Rifle configuration and 18.1 ounces in a pistol configuration.

Additional accessory support allows the Bushwhacker to be mounted to a myriad of hosts via the 3-lug QD kit, Plan-A XL, or the 1.375×24 A2 adapter. A specialty mount was also designed and manufactured for mounting the Bushwhacker to an unmodified 1928a1 Thompson via the Cutts Compensator.

Performance, Durability, and Versatility are hallmarks of the Griffin Armament brand. These qualities are embodied in the Bushwhacker® 46 and will ensure this universal sound suppressor remains a highly demanded product for years to come.
