SIG SAUER Introduces the Next Generation of Suppressor Technology with SLX and SLH Series of Suppressors

Friday, September 17th, 2021

NEWINGTON, N.H., (September 17, 2021) – Born out of the current military requirements to deliver cutting-edge performance, SIG SAUER is proud to introduce the SLX and SLH series of suppressors. The advancement of the SLX and SLH series of suppressors was realized through the wholesale transition of the SIG SAUER product line to Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) resulting in the most innovative suppressor technology to date – the next generation of suppressors has arrived.

“The commercial launch of the SLX and SLH suppressors has been highly anticipated due to the fact that these are the suppressors we developed exclusively for our Next Generation Squad Weapons program submission,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc.  “The DMLS manufacturing process of the SLX and SLH suppressors eliminates the drawbacks of welded baffles that historically presents design limitations for sound, flash, and the reduction of toxic fumes.  Alternatively, the SLX and SLH suppressors are designed to not only withstand the rigors of the battlefield through its innovative monolithic design, but they are each optimized to dramatically reduce harmful toxic fumes and sound because of patented design features that can only be achieved through the non-traditional manufacturing processes.”

The SIG SAUER SLX Series of suppressors are designed to drastically reduce toxic fume inhalation by the end-user and sound reduction and are available for 5.56 or 7.62 NATO calibers.  The SLX suppressors feature a monolithic core construction in Inconel, an internal multi-flow path to exhaust gases at a higher rate resulting in lower toxic fume inhalation, a sound reducing baffle design, a flash reducing end cap, and are available with either the new Clutch-Lock QD mounting system for easy install and removal that offers an intuitive tactile locking ring with infinite radial locking positions, or direct thread.

The SIG SAUER SLH Series of suppressors are designed to provide the highest degree of sound reduction in both supersonic and subsonic ammunitions and available for 7.62 NATO and 300BLK calibers.  The SLH suppressors feature a monolithic core construction in either Inconel or Titanium, an internal multi-flow path to exhaust gases at a higher rate resulting in lower toxic fume inhalation, a sound reducing baffle design, a flash reducing end cap, and are available with either the new Clutch-Lock QD mounting system for easy install and removal that offers an intuitive tactile locking ring with infinite radial locking positions, or direct thread.

Wndsn Explorer’s Notebook

Friday, September 17th, 2021

Wndsn Applied Sciences Lab is excited to announce our first adventures into stationery, with the Wndsn Explorer’s Notebook.

Calculations only become real when written down, and for years you, our passionate Telemeter and Quadrant users, have had to go without a dedicated Wndsn notebook to capture your most necessary computations.

The Wndsn Explorer’s Notebook is a one-of-a-kind addition to the stationery marketspace. This pocket notebook is designed for easy portability, durability, and pleasure of writing, and comes with several unique features.

There are so many details that we are so excited to have you experience for yourself. First you will notice the 40 pages of dot grid paper, designed for ease of writing, drawing, and calculation notation. However, it comes with a twist. The right page maintains a conventional square grid, while the left page is an isometric grid. Held right side up, the grid lines flow from one page to another; the user’s writing will be seamless. By turning the notebook 90 degrees the isometric grid is ready for 3D drawings.

By now you know we love our fountain pens and the experience of writing on good paper. What sets this pocket notebook apart from others on the market is the Swedish Munken Pure 120g/m² (32 lb) paper. Munken Pure is lush, thick, and able to take the flowiest of fountain pens.

And as always, there are nomograms. In the back of the notebook you will find a compendium of useful scientific guides including a Sine Quadrant and our Moon Clock plus 18 conversion nomograms for all of your mathematical and exploratory needs. There’s even a Telemeter on the back cover!

The Wndsn Explorer’s Notebook is now in stock and ready to be filled with all of your notes, thoughts, calculations, drafts, bujo items and grocery lists.

Specs:
• 40 pages of conventional and isometric dot grid paper
• The left page is an isometric dot grid, and the right is a standard square dot grid
• Size: 3.5″ x 5.5″ (89 x 140 mm)

Rheinmetall New Strategic Partner of the Bundeswehr for Deployed Operations Support – New Line of Business Launched

Friday, September 17th, 2021

Rheinmetall new strategic partner of the Bundeswehr for deployed operations support – new line of business launched
The German Bundeswehr has awarded Rheinmetall a framework contract as part of its “Deployed Operations Support” project. The agreement was concluded in August 2021 with the Federal Office for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Bundeswehr Services (BAIUDBw). Germany’s armed forces will be able to count on a reliable partner to set up, operate and, when necessary, dismantle operational infrastructure. Rheinmetall is one of three companies selected by the Bundeswehr to serve as a strategic partner for deployed operations support. The contract went into effect upon signature and has an initial duration of four years, with a triple option for a one-year extension. During this period, Rheinmetall is obligated to provide services when called upon by the Bundeswehr.

The selection of partners for providing deployed operations took place within the framework of the “German Armed Forces Contractor Augmentation Programme (G-CAP)”. Initiated by BAIUDBw, this project requires private sector service providers to supply troop support services during deployed operations. In adopting this policy, the Bundeswehr joined a global trend: many other armed forces rely on service providers to perform such tasks. Experts estimate that global sales for these services are worth around €350 billion annually.

Rheinmetall is positioning itself to address this growing international market. The Düsseldorf-based Group has set up a company for this purpose, Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH, which will consolidate and develop resources and capabilities necessary for operational support of this kind and seek to provide services on a long-term basis. This new business area will operate in close collaboration with Rheinmetall Canada, whose special technological know-how is set to expand internationally.

In addition to the G-CAP framework agreement, Rheinmetall Project Solutions recently won a service contract for round-the-clock monitoring of a forward operating base using a tethered surveillance aerostat.

As Dr Deniz Akitürk, managing director of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH puts it, “We are pleased by this success and proud of having been picked by the Bundeswehr as a partner for infrastructure during deployed operations. We can assure our customers that the name Rheinmetall will stand for maximum reliability, performance and flexibility in this new field of business.”

G-CAP is primarily intended to relieve the troops and let private industry set up the operational infrastructure, thus enabling the Bundeswehr to conserve resources and focus on its core mission in high-threat situations. Deployed operations support is a core capability, ranging from the establishment of forward operating bases to the creation of permanent operational infrastructure. This includes, for example, accommodation, water supply, power generation, rations and mess halls, waste disposal and laundry services.

TEKEVER Launches TEKEVER ATLAS for UAV Real-Time and Historical Processing Data

Friday, September 17th, 2021

DSEI, September 15th, 2021 – TEKEVER is demonstrating during DSEI (London, 14-17, 2021) its new TEKEVER ATLAS, a tool to enhance Unmanned Aerial Systems missions. It provides advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) analytics onboard for real-time and historical processing of data. Designed for key decision-makers, TEKEVER ATLAS delivers intelligence onboard, as well as ground-based tools, and assures that the right person gets the right information at the right time.

“TEKEVER ATLAS is a tool that extends the capabilities of TEKEVER’s unmanned technology. It allows you to collect all the information and to explore it after it’s been collected. ATLAS is a good name for the systems because it holds all the information that we are gathering about the world. It connects to multiple UAS systems at same time to collect data of the sensors that are on board (optical video, infrared video, radar, multispectral sensors, static aperture radars, for example). That information comes over a private network and gets collect in our AI/ML-powered datacenter, where all the information is stored and tagged”, explains Paulo Ferro, TEKEVER Director of Business Development

Decision-makers will be able to plan missions more effectively by easily including parameters such as areas of interest, objectives, and targets. This will enable the end-user user to review the specific details of any mission, and to easily retrieve historical data necessary as evidence for prosecution.
