4473

In a few days time, January 16th to be exact, the latest iteration of the form 4473, also known as the Firearms Transaction Record, goes live. The full list of additions and alterations can be read at the link below, but here’s some of the standout changes, with most of them occurring in Section A, the buyer’s section:

  • Question 1 notes that in instances where the buyer has an initial as part of their legal name, “IO” needs to be included next to said initial.
  • Question 6 – ‘Gender’ is changed to ‘Sex’.
  • 10.b notes that both 10.a ‘Ethnicity’ and 10.b ‘Race’ need to be answered.
  • 11.e notes that marijuana is still unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it is legal in the state where the buyer resides.
  • 18.b is listed as ‘Supplemental Government Issued Documentation’, while its equivalent on the current 4473 20.b is listed as ‘Alternate Documentation’.
  • All in all, the changes are relatively minor; a bit of clarification here, some streamlining there, etc. Look forward to seeing this form pop up at your local FFL starting the 16th.

Anteris Alliance: A Pillar of Patriots!

    Anteris Alliance

anteris: (Latin) – noun – support, pillar, buttress
Anteris Alliance: an organizational network of outdoor manufacturers and service providers bonded by their dedication to support our Veterans and First Responders and their families through the manufacture and market insertion of top quality products and services!

Scottsdale, AZ (Jan 2017) – Anteris Alliance, LLC, brings together a network of manufacturers and service providers that are integrally dedicated to the mission field of our military veterans and first-responders. By joining arms with other companies in a formal network, Anteris Alliance generates and builds stakeholder partnerships providing discounts to its members by reducing overhead and further driving the ability of give back through company growth.

“When a company dedicated to our nation’s servicemen and women has a built-in percentage of sales that goes directly to the charities that support them, it only makes sense that the more successful that company is, and the greater its sales, the greater its ability to support those foundations,” states Casey Betzold – CEO of Anteris Alliance. “We recognize the best way for companies to make a difference is to vote with our dollar bills. Our goal is to generate support from the ground up, fostering company growth and increasing sales and services through greater exposure, events, and networking!”

The Alliance, already comprised of a large association of companies both in and out of the outdoor industry, has much planned for 2017, starting with the Try & Buy 2017 Distributor event happening January 15-16, at the Pro Gun Club, Las Vegas. This event will bring together the Alliance of corporate members to exhibit their products and services as they are intended to be used to buyers and media members in the outdoor network. Future events, which will benefit veteran and first responder charities, and will be open to the general public, are already being planned for March, April, May, and June of this year with more expected to be locked in soon. Watch for the next big event planned for March 25 at the Cowtown Range, just outside of Phoenix, AZ, hosted by Anteris Alliance corporate members Gnat Warfare, PD Warehouse, and Riton Optics! Advance ticket sales will go live online at www.anterisalliance.com soon!

Anteris Alliance focuses on several ways to generate increased support to great vet and first responder charities:

    1. Build and utilize the Alliance to increase corporate member growth allowing them greater opportunity to maximize their give back (which is already a part of the fabric of their company).

    2. Host and sponsor events which have a charity component tied to the event with between 50-100% of the generated proceeds going to the event’s selected charities.

    3. Individual member platform offered to any patriot who wants to be part of the mission, and by attacking the mission from a business perspective, greater monies will be generated throughout the year allowing the Anteris Alliance to simply sit down and write some great donation checks to end out each year! Individual memberships can be purchased by emailing info@anterisalliance.com and are being offered in either annual or a limited number of lifetime memberships.

Anteris Alliance has also launched, via a partnership with Birdman Media – Patriot Edition, the Anteris Radio Network, which brings both a video and audio show to viewers and listeners alike to introduce them to the great company network members, awesome stories, and Veteran and First Responder VIPs! A full advertising package via the ARN is included in the annual corporate memberships! The podcast and YouTube channels can be accessed via: www.birdman.media/arn

PR and media questions can be directed to info@anterisalliance.com.

Interested Patriots of all kinds to include Manufacturers, Service Providers, Dealers, and Individuals can visit www.anterisalliance.com for more details and follow Anteris Alliance on social media on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Holster models designed to also protect the red dot optics

ONTARIO, California – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group, respected for its technologically advanced holsters and other gear for the law enforcement, military, concealment and competitive sporting markets, will premier its new holsters designed specifically to fit and protect handguns with red dot optics at the 2017 SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor and Trade) Show, booth #12762. The majority of these models feature Safariland’s patented Automatic Locking System or ALS®, an intuitive internal locking device offering one of the most secure fits on the market. Among the red dot optic-compatible models in Safariland’s duty, tactical and concealment offerings are the sought after Model 6390 ALS, Model 6360 ALS/SLS, Model 6384 ALS and 6378 ALS holsters.

“Staying true to our commitment to provide first-class fit, form and function, the RDS offerings put Safariland at the forefront of today’s handgun trends,” said James Dawson, duty gear category director at Safariland. “The red dot optic is becoming an increasingly popular option throughout the military, tactical and law enforcement markets; we anticipate this trend to continue and plan to stay ahead of the demand. Not only have we developed retention holsters that fit handguns with red dot optics, but also, they protect the optical sights.”

Utilizing the SafariLaminate™ thermal-molded construction, a protective covering is designed around the optic of the holstered gun. These holsters are also designed with a suede-lining to protect the weapon’s finish. To meet a variety of law enforcement needs, duty models offered include Level I, II and III Retention levels. Available are the Model 6280 SLS Level II Retention™ Mid-Ride Duty Holster, the popular 6360 ALS® Level III Retention™ Mid-Ride Duty Holster and the Model 6390 Open-Top Level I Retention™ duty holster. All are also available in hi-ride and low-ride versions. For concealed carry, the Model 6378 ALS Concealment holster rides close to the body.

Tactical rigs offered are the best-selling Model 6004/6005 SLS Tactical Holster featuring a double leg strap with silicone strips for nonslip traction; the Model 6304/6305 ALS®/SLS Tactical Holster featuring both locking systems for increased retention level, the Model 6354/6355 ALS Tactical Holster, an open-top design without SLS for quick retrieval of weapon; and the models 6384/6385 OMV Tactical Rigs, which are optimized for use also on a MOLLE vest, with lower center of gravity than most other Safariland duty and tactical holsters for less pulling on the vest and an open-top design offering quick retrieval of weapon.

Depending on the holster model selected, these red dot optic compatible holsters are available in all STX finishes and will be available in Cordura® Nylon, MultiCam®, Ranger Green, Coyote, Khaki, or Black and have an MSRP ranging from $200.00 – $350.00. Holsters are available starting February 2017.

    Gun fits offered are:
