FirstSpear Friday Focus – Light Weight Assault Ghillie

Friday, April 28th, 2023

Developed in conjunction with Treadswift, the LWAG is a lightweight concealment cloak that can be used for disrupting visual, infrared, or thermal detection. Utilizing lightweight, weather resistant mesh and Trelleborg combination patterning, the LWAG can be garnished with jute, vegetation or used as is. Generously sized to cover equipment, but still easy to stow on your pack or load carriage, it has stretch cord for underarm positioning and a security strap for the front that can be adjusted for height and girth. The hood of the LWAG is secured in place with large smock style buttons.

The New Nemesis Camouflage Patterns are Being Released by Diversitex Inc Fabrics

Monday, April 17th, 2023

There’s something new brewing in the Tactical Camouflage industry! As earlier reported here on Soldier Systems Daily, Former US-SOF Veteran, DOD Contractor and Consultant; Clint Hoover has been working diligently to bring a new Special Operations inspired Camouflage to the industry. Around mid-summer 2022 the Alpha Groups Solution owner was challenged to converge all his cumulative real world experience & knowledge along with acquisitions sub-straight, product development. A real military pattern with an edgy legacy look and advanced color blends. The result is a “Keep It Simple Solution”.

The “Bigger News” for this Soldier Systems Daily release is the industry collaboration between Nemesis Camouflage and Diversitex Inc.

For those that may not know about Diversitex, you are looking at a company with over 50 years of textile experience. Establishing itself as a major supplier of camouflage around the world. Diversitex holds a unique position in the industry, blending technical know-how with a customer-focused approach to deliver the just right fabric for any application. Its focus on domestically crafted product and relationships with leading mills translates into a broad product selection and fast delivery times.

Here’s the news… this collaboration roll-out between Nemesis and Diversitex, focus will be on Nemesis Woodlands Wolf variation. So, standard 500d, 1000d, 70d, Heavy Mesh, along with Nyco Extreme Ripstop fabric. Diversitex will also introduce narrow width goods in Nemesis Woodlands in standard webbings.

The current plan is to roll out a new version of Nemesis Camouflage- “Woodlands Wolf” will be Nemesis “Desert Scorpion” Camouflage, then Nemesis “Night Ops” followed by Nemesis “Snow Tundra”.

Although we have a planned phase in schedule on pattern release, any of the 4 new Nemesis Camouflage patterns can be printed based on customers meeting the “Minimum Order Quantity” on the other 3 future Nemesis pattern releases. You can have it first!

Enforce Tac 23 – Act In Black

Wednesday, March 1st, 2023

Sure, Act In Black is a night vision company, but they also have some of the coolest mannequins.

Take for instance this guy who is outfitted in a back to the future outfit featuring NVA (that’s the East German National Volks Armee and not the North Vietnamese Army) Strichtarn or as it’s known in the US, Raindrop camouflage.

Unfortunately, you can’t go one place and get all of this goodness they’ve carefully curated the look including some pieces from my buddy at Flimmuur Tactical.

Camo Scrim Kit and Helmet Scrim from Finn-Savotta Oy

Thursday, February 23rd, 2023

Finland’s Savotta may not be the first company to produce a camo scrim kit, but man, those photos.

Savotta’s Camo scrim kit allows you to quickly fine tune the camouflage of your equipment to match your surroundings. Each kit includes five each 145 cm long strips of the same color.

Made from 500D Cordura, they are available in green, brown, white, M05 woodland, MultiCam and MultiCam Tropic.

All colors offer great NIR performance. They recommend you combine them to create multi-colored 3D camouflage patterns.

Savotta tells us these are made in Finland utilizing incredible space-age laser technology.

While you can most certainly camo up your helmet with the Scrim Kit, they’ve also made a dedicated Helmet Scrim which is specifically cut for high cut helmets, but can be used on most full/low cut helmets too.

The laser cut zig-zag pattern is positioned so that it creates an opening for NVG mounts at the front. Small slits are cut around the edges for the elastic cord.l which cinches it down.

The Helmet Scrim is available in the same colors as the DIY Scrim Kit and is made from the same material, cut utilizing the same incredible space-age laser technology.
