Vertx Releases Innovative New Softshell Jacket: The Downrange Softshell featuring VaporCore, powered by 37.5 Technology

The jacket is truly unique to the industry based on its combination of features, construction and materials which make it ideal for the prepared professional. With its unique fabric construction and technology, the Downrange Softshell can be an asset in a variety of operational and training environments.
The Downrange Softshell is comprised of two components- a shell and a lining. The shell is 86% Polyester and 14% Spandex which serves as a barrier to the elements and allows freedom of movement. The lining is comprised of 66% Polyester and 34% 37.5® Polyester. This lining construction keeps the wearer warm and comfortable.
Specifically, the 37.5® Polyester, while breathable, absorbs the wearers infrared heat and stores it within the fabric. This helps maintain the wearer’s optimal core body temperature of 37.5°C allowing them to perform better, longer. The jacket will be offered in four colors: Burnt Ash, Slate Gray, Bering Blue and Shadow Gray.

ORWM – Snowpeak
Thursday, January 12th, 2017Japanese brand Snowpeak has long been known for their Titanium cups and outdoor cookware, but they’ve also been offering apparel for the past several years. The designer is Japanese and she has been curating vintage military clothing from around the world. The Fall/Winter 17 line includes several military inspired items including this M65-style Field Jaxket and Fatigue Pant made from Ripstop PolyCotton.
What’s really cool about them is this ensemble is the camouflage pattern developed by the designer. It incorporatesCold War-era East German NVA raindrop elements as well as design cues from Snowpeak’s asterisk logo, both in micro and macro. The pattern will be offered on several other items as well.

ORWM – Beyond
Tuesday, January 10th, 2017Coming this Summer, this is the Argus Hoodie from Beyond. It’s made from a 300 weight, brushed Polartec fleece. I like the crossover hood opening and monkey paw feature. The Argus Hoodie will be offered in Coyote, as seen here.
This is the Level 10 is based on the Arctic Combat Concept ensemble accomplished last year. When it’s used as a system it will go down to -50 deg F in static – situation and to -70 Deg F while moving thanks to the 7 oz Climashield fill. It incorporates a North American Coyote ruff, available for separate order in packs of two. This is because the ruffs are non-Berry but also the best available for use in extreme cold environments. Due to the Berry issue, Beyond worked within the framework of the DFAR and offers them for separate order.
The front flap can be opened with a one hand pull to access an armor carrier beneath.
The Anorak features dual side zips to facilitate donning and doffing and the seat of both Anorak and Trouser are reinforced with Cordura.
