DSEi – Smith Elite
Friday, September 13th, 2013What happens when you you combine the Echo and the Boogie? Why the Boogie Aviator of course! Aviators came to Smith requesting that engineer a way for them to wear the Boogie with their flight helmets. Smith took a hard look at the HGU-56/P helmet and realized the answer wasn’t a goggle but rather glasses with a goggle type seal.
The Boogie Aviator integrates two technologies. Their new slotted ventilation as well as the slotted lens technology which allows the eye pro to conform to more face shapes without optical distortion. Additionally, it helps dissipate energy across the lens rather than transmit it into the head. Additionally, as it is based on the Echo frame, swapping out lenses is as simple as opening two PivLocks. Conversely, you can adapt the Boogie Aviator lens to existing Echo and Arc frames. Finally, and most importantly for Aviators, the simple, thin temples of the Echo make donning and doffing the eye pro while wearing a helmet, a cinch.

DSEi – PEO Soldier
Friday, September 13th, 2013I am very pleased to see some representation at DSEi from the US Army in the form of my favorite organization, PEO Soldier.
They are here on behalf of Foreign Military Sales and are exhibiting those items that can be exported such as parachutes, helmets and armor plates.
DSEi – UK Trade & Investment Defence and Security Organisation
Friday, September 13th, 2013The MoD posts members over to UK Trade & Investment to provide the defense industry with SMEs and support for foreign sales. They are displaying a wide variety of products at DSEi that are examples of the work conducted by this team of service members but one seems a great fit for SSD.
This Technology Demonstrator Program for Low Burden CBRN Protective Combat Clothing ensemble was developed by Bluecher consists of a separate hood, UBACS, Combat Trousers and Boots. It is compatible with the new General Service Respirator from Scott (not shown). The garment can be worn for 6 months while retaining CBRN protective characteristics in addition to FR.
